Just Because....

I kept thinking I was going to finish my Disney post but life just gets more busy it seems the older my kids get and the more I have. I am tired of the random times I open my blog and see the same Disney pictures that tell me I didn't finish and now I can't remember enough to post. So here are some random pictures so that I see something else when I open this page.

Day 3 Animal Kingdom

We were up early because we had a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.

I just wanted to bring Mary Poppins home with me for when I am needing some mom back-up.

So...Sweet Alice had a picture with us and then was off to the next table. Well Ansley was not done with her. She followed her and started up a conversation about her shoes. They plopped on the floor and talked all about them. What is so interesting about these plain black shoes?!

I promised Garrett that he could get his face painted when we went to Animal Kingdom. It was so hot that it didn't last long but it was so cute and a fun thing for the kids to do.

We are ready for the Bugs Life show. It starts aaaaand...guess what?! Someone has to go to the potty! Learned our lesson on the first day so up and out I went with Ansley to find a bathroom. Hope the show was good! I ended up in Chinatown or something and the line to the bathroom was out the door. She tried to go in the men's because you know there wasn't a line there. I told her no but so bad wanted to just suck it up and go in. I mean really why does it take women soooooo loooooong in the bathroom?! What are you doing in your stall?! Get in and get out!!! It's not that hard.

We rode the safari truck to see the animals.

Then we had ice cream and Oh it was good! Emerson's first and Garrett was so sweet to share his with her.

Saw Pluto and Goofy in Dinoland

Cody and Ansley

We closed down Animal Kingdom. We went back to the hotel, grabbed dinner and then hit the pool. Epcot tomorrow! :)

Day 2 Magic Kingdom

We got up early...5:30 early! All of us were in one room and this meant Emerson could see me from the crib when she woke. She was not going to roll back over if I was right there. I did get her back to sleep but I think it was about 7:30 when she woke again. Given the day we had, had yesterday from airport to park to hotel we all didn't get to bed until after 12:30 the night before. It had been a long day and here we go with day 2!
Getting ready for the park wasn't too bad. We grabbed a box of donuts from the hotel store and ate them on the way to the bus. Every time we left the hotel we had to get on a "Motor Coach" as they call them. This meant hauling our stuff to the bus depot breaking down the stroller and cramming on a bus. I have now done Disney both ways, stayed out of the park and stayed in the park and I plan to always stay in the park. We got to Magic Kingdom around 10:00 so having been up at 5:30 for me it had already been a long morning. We rode some rides and had our first Character Meal set for lunch at The Crystal Palace.

I love this picture because each child is looking at me and giving me some sort of smile.
After lunch we rode more rides and then found a spot for the parade. At this point Ansley had seen only Snow White of the Disney Princesses and then she came......Cinderella!

Ansley was waving and yelling her name. Cinderella saw her and blew her a kiss. Ansley blew one right back. It was the sweetest thing!

This is Ansley's face right after. Cody said later "it's all fun and games until Cinderella blows your daughter a kiss and you want to cry"! Cody jokes I have no tear ducts and I wanted to cry too! What in the world was going on!!! It's just Disney not her wedding day!
We spent the rest of the day riding rides and caught the fireworks. Amazing! Best fireworks I have ever seen are at Disney!

Ansley and Snow White

We rode Buzz Lightyear so many times.

The Dumbo is a classic ride you can't miss.

I love this picture of the girls on the carousel.

and it rained. Don't worry they weren't under the plastic for too long. :)

It was so humid and hot. No point in doing your hair or make-up. There is a big store I took the girls to in Toon Town to meet the princesses while the boys rode a roller coaster. We needed some time in the AC. It was about 8:30 at night and if you can remember that we have already had a long day and NO NAPS. We are standing in line. I am by myself, wearing Emerson, wearing a backpack, carrying a camera and keeping up with a 2 1/2 year old that had met her limit a long time ago. We stood in line and Ansley starts to fall apart. Ansley got a crash coarse in "line standing" and "waiting your turn" on this trip. They called us back with two other families. Ansley straightens up quick because princesses don't cry and they aren't around criers either. :)

So the first thing she says to Cinderella is not "you are so pretty, I love your dress etc...but a very excited "I pooped in the potty"! I wanted to leave the room. Cinderella was such a good sport. She told Ansley they were working with Jack on that back at the castle.

So now we had met 3 princesses in one swoop and each girl had, had their picture taken. It's time for us to go right?!...Oh no! Ansley goes back to Cinderella and before I know it we are the only guests back there with 3 princesses all out of their little coves they sat in, 3 photographers taking pictures, someone manning the door and a baby crawling loose. These princesses were so sweet with my girls! I was the only one that seemed to care that a line was waiting outside.

What is that in your hair? Where did you get that?

Can you dance? Can you twirl? etc...

This was one of those experiences that made the day so worth it. Ansley has this special gift of enter-acting with everyone and anyone she meets. She can strike up a conversation with anyone and she will make you in a sweet way stay in her conversation. I could do a whole scrap book on the chats she had with strangers.

Fireworks

We had almost opened the park and now we were going to close it down. We rode some more rides and then during the light parade we made our way to the entrance. I thought we were going to get to see this parade on another night as well so we could sit and watch it but I got messed up on the schedule. Garrett was not happy. I have to put that on the to do list for when we go back.

So now it's like 10:30 at night I think. It has been a loooooong, hot, day full of memories. Got to get some sleep because we have a breakfast in the morning and then it's off to Animal Kingdom.

Disney Day 1, Hollywood Studios

I am not one to use the blog for journaling but I thought this would be an easy way to write it for myself and share it with those who wanted to know how the trip went. We had planned a trip to Gulf Shores Alabama for July but then the oil spill happened. It seemed to get worse every day. The oil kept spreading and so we weren't sure if we would still go. We took it day by day and then...after watching the news that sharks were having a feeding frenzy along the beach we were going to I was out! Plan B- We had casually talked about Disney for next year and when I threw it out for this Summer thinking Cody would shoot it down he totally went with it...Cool! So I had less than 2 months to get this family of 5 ready for Disney!
We had an early flight and had to be up at 5:30a.m. and out the door at 6:15. My dad was taking us to the airport so he stayed with us the night before. Everything was packed and layed out for the busy morning ahead. The alarm was set...oh, no it wasn't! I just happened to wake up at 5:55 and in a frantic mess got dressed and when I walked into the living room to wake everyone else I found my dad sitting nicely on the couch waiting for us.
We were out the door and made it on time...actually everyone was already on the plane when we got to the gate so I guess we barely made it. The plane ride was fine and pretty much quiet with three small children.

Me and the girls before the plane took off.
About an hour before we landed this is what I was doing on my side of the aisle...
Ansley loved to open and close the tray on the seat. Poor guy in front of her was sleeping until she woke him up by screaming. I thought for sure a nap might happen by Emerson but oh no the airplane was too fun!

and when you look on Cody's side this is what I saw...

Garrett is watching a movie and Cody is reading a magazine. Oh but don't worry he gets peeed on later. ha!
We get to our hotel and we can't check in until 3:00 and it's like noon so we put our carry on's in storage and it's off to the park.
Oh look ...it's raining!

We go to The Little Mermaid Ride and after waiting for 30-45 minutes Ansley starts screaming that she has to go potty. We are so close to the front...like a couple of families to the front..she starts screaming and pee's all over Cody. He says in a frantic voice "she's peeing on me, she's peeing on me"! I laughed so hard! I had nothing for her and so she spent the rest of the day in those clothes. I know it's gross but I didn't have anything else. Don't judge people :)

Found a cute photo spot and this is what I get...a fit!

Garrett and Lightning

Me and the kids getting ready for the 3D Muppet's show but wait..oh I have to go on another potty break so I missed it.

Honey I Shrunk the Kids Ant

Emerson finally giving it up around 5:30.

It was a very loooooong day once we closed the park at 10:ish that night. We stayed for Fantasmic a really neat music/light show. By the time it was said and done we started the day at 5:55a.m. and ended it after midnight by the time we got to the hotel, had baths and got in bed. Day 2 starts early at the Magic Kingdom...

I made the kids these shirts so they would be easy to spot at the airport.
