October! What a beautiful month. The first day of October I went on a hike with Missy. We saw some pretty colors, missed our turn so we ended up on another trail, and then saw a moose!
We picked some of the berries and grapes to sample,
then discovered these weird green beans with pink beans inside!:
Adz wanted more Halloween decorations and these dollar store lanterns were pretty cute:
Every morning we found the hidden pumpkin at Davis Tech. One day we were the daily winners and got prize bags!:
TJ got to go hunting with Dad over conference weekend:
I made cinnamon rolls and blackberry rolls:
Then Hammer and I got to see Laura and Jordan in their play at HCT in Orem. It was My Fair Lady and it was so good:
Conference puzzle:
I picked so many cucumbers one day so Lulu and I pickled them:
Hammer's first choir concert:
Our almonds were ready to harvest:
Time for Lulu's band concert:
I couldn't get over how this couple by us at the concert looked like Nana and Scott:
One Friday I picked up Adz from school with Missy and Sammy and we went apple picking!:
Here are the two boys that went with me each morning to find the hidden pumpkin!:
I got to go on Adz' walking field trip to see the marching band perform at the highschool. It was in the morning so the sun was bright and it was hot!:
We spotted the comet one night:
Hammer and his quorum at the temple:
We went out to eat with Grammie one day that you guys were off school! Dad was off work too:
After lunch Dad came home to figure out how to fix our van door. Remember how the lock was broken and it yelled at us each time it locked? It was scary (for me) because it was loud and sometimes came when you weren't expecting it. Luckily Dad rocks and figured out with youtube how to take the door all apart, put the new part in, and then put it back together:
Water Conservation Garden's Halloween extravaganza:
We took our friend Ty and he and Adz were having a sword fight, I was taking a video, when a random kid tripped and dropped his goodies and started screaming bloody murder. I happened to take a picture at that exact moment too. We were confused, wondering if one of the boys had accidentally hit him or what. After realizing his mom wasn't there we helped him gather his goodies and his mom found him. We looked back at the video and he just tripped on his own:
We also took Ty on an adventure one Saturday night. We first went to the Fairytale Forest on the trail at the park by us. It was an hour wait to get on the trail. You guys had fun when we finally got down to the trail. There were about 7 spots where actors were telling us fairytales:
Then we went to Scary Potter, a house where they had set up their yard to be all things Harry Potter. They turned their garage into a Hogsmeade village:
We cast spells and tried on the sorting hat:
and saw their cool sculptures:
I spy Aragog, the giant spider:
As we were driving home we saw people on a hay ride, just going around the neighborhood. The boys convinced me to pull over and park. So we waited where the sign said "hay rides." No one else was waiting for us and it was about 9 pm. I said, "Maybe it's done for the night. I don't even know if it costs money!" but then the tractor came back and stopped, letting off loads of teenagers. The guy told us to hop on:
so we got on and he took us down a dead-end and dropped us off saying "Good luck!" We got off and realized it was a haunted house, well a haunted backyard. It cost money to get in, and we are all wimpy, so we just walked back up the hill to our car. It got cold and Pleiades needs a blanket:
So it turned out that we were in the top 5 of the pumpkin hunters! We got a big gift basket and gift certificates!:
One of the gift certificates was for a haunted corn maze. We went on a not-so-spooky night:
Our ward did a trunk or treat but it was freezing so it was moved inside. Here's someone's Harry Potter themed decorations so I had to take a pic of TJ by it:
Here we go. Time to carve the pumpkins that we grew:
One evening these two boys went with me to see cool Halloween yards. None of them were Disney-level like the pirate ship in St George, but there were some really fun ones. This guy had tons of carved pumpkins in his yard:
This one had lots of skeletons. It's hard to tell, but it was really cute. One is coming out of the outhouse:
And this one had just so many decorations everywhere you looked! So many moving and singing, and this pirate was really cool:
6th grade always dresses up as Egyptians. Here's Adz ready to go to school:
I was working at my new job as a lunch lady so I didn't see Adz' Halloween parade, but my neighbor sent me a picture!:I did get to still help at Adz's school for their Halloween party. I was in charge of hanging up donuts and they had to eat them without using their hands:
Lulu had a party with friends at our house. The three girls were going to dress up as the 3 fairies from Sleeping Beauty. We got the red fairy and the green fairy, but Clara couldn't find a blue fairy outfit so she's a raccoon:
Hammer went trick or treating with friends and I didn't get any pictures of him! TJ went trick or treating with neighbors and I got a picture of him afterwards checking out his haul:
Adz went trick or treating with other friends and went as a ninja:
All of the kids split up and left at different times so it was hard to remember to get a picture of everyone! But it was a fun night and you got lots of candy!
