Xmas 09

Yeah, this year the new boss gave us 1/2 day for Xmas eve. So happy!! Spend the day with Trixy and Syn at orchard first doing window-shopping and taking photos at the same time. Then headed out to Clarke Quay Waraku for dinner.. Good thing that we went there. Can't imagine spending the night with the massive crowd at Orchard.

:: Credits to Trixy ::

Vivian and hubby n Nathan happened to be in the same area while we are having our dinner. So "jio" them to met up for a short while to take photos together. Well, wanted to hang out longer with them but pity bb's mood was not so good, so they had to went home after a short while.

On boxing day, it was the usual once a year gathering at Cel's house. This year it was held at her new house located at Serangoon.

A night out with Kris

::Dinner at Handburger ::

While waiting for the food, we took some shoots with her newly bought camera. As usual, I looked wore-out and she looked so pretty in her floral tube dress. Look so slim as well!

The seating arrangement at Handburger reminded me of canteen arrangement where there are long tables and benches(simliar to 15 minutes restaurant concept) . I ordered a beer battered dory burger with fries for myself while Kris ordered a chicken breast burger with tomato and we shared a salad together. Hmm, find that the beer battered dory was quite oily for my liking .

Overall, the portion of the food was quite big and we were too full to finish them in the end. Haha.. Despite fulling full, we still ordered the Lemon min drink and Lychee mint drink each to try, after seeing the couple beside us sharing a cup by themselves. There were lychees bits inside my drink. Nice!

Next time I should try their other burgers. Perhaps with Trixy. She tried out this burger before but the outlet she went at, was at Raffles City.

Rest in peace

Grandma went into coma since this morning and passed away peacefully this evening. It was a shock to us as she was still alright when Mum visited her yesterday afternoon. Sigh... she was admitted to hospital due to leg pain. She had been admitting in and out of hospital because of this condition. Now they are still checking what actually happen to her as it all happens too sudden. My relatives were guessing could it be drug allergy...
Anyway she was not alone in her last moments. We were all by her side when she left us.

Rest in peace, Grandma! You will be missed!

Shopping time!

This week, Uniqlo was having fabulous promotion at all 3 outlets, due to their 3rd store opening at 313@somerset! Initally, Trixy and me were planning to visit the outlet at 313@somerset last thursday but the crowd she saw during her lunch hours was dreadful. The Q to get in the shop in the afternoon was already a long stretch! By evening time, I guess it will be even more chaotic. So we went to ION branch instead.

The jeans which were selling at S$19.90 each, so sianz that there were no bigger sizes left practially when we reached there after work. At least, I manage to get myself a gym pants and a bra top. Happy with the buys! But was still hoping to get hold of their jeans. So I went back to the outlet at 313@somerset after my company dinner on friday. Just happen the farewell dinner that was booked at Lei Gardens, is just beside it. Wow, the clothings over there were totally in a BIG mess, it was all piled up in mountains. After 10 mins, I was out of there! Such a headache to browse through the "mountains".

So yesterday, Trixy wanted to get her jeans altered. We went back to ION branch again, before going for her sister's company event. Hahaa... Yes! 3 times in a row visiting Uniqlo! This time round, there were new stocks re-stocked for the jeans! Great man! We've been lemming to get a pair in dark grey. Although the color wasn't dark enought, we still love it! Plus alteration fee, the jeans cost S$25.00 each. Cheap and good buys!

Other than shopping at uniqlo over these few days, I also spend on xmas presents for the upcoming gatherings and a jacket from zara yesterday. And now it's only becoming of the month. :( I delcared I'm offically broke!!

Stroke of luck

Got this in a lucky dip at one of Trixy's sister company event! Was surprised to hear my name got called out. Actually was crossing my fingers for another prize instead.

Nevertheless, I'm still overjoy that I won this white wine! Awesome!

Lazing out Day

Met up with Shufen yesterday and our first stop was to check out the Nonya Bazzar at SMU. Was having a hard time find the exact location as we never thought it will be held at the basement at first. It was quite bustling and there were quite a few stalls selling those nonya food, kuehs. Smells so delicious! So tempted to try some of them but to my dismay - some of the food was spicy. Arghh... if i wasn't sick, I would have buy some and eat on the spot. To get well soon - I must control control n control . :(

Ohh, we saw David Tao at Orchard Central by chance! I ain't kidding wor! Hahaa

That's 93.3 DJ - Pei Fen! She's so slim and petite in person.

Since we are around the area, so we waited for a while to catch a glimpse of him! Surprisingly the crowd of this "qian ming hui" was just a small crowd. I was wondering is it the publicity of this activity wasn't done enough or wat. He's considered one of the popular, well-known big shot in the current chinese industry and he had won quite a no. of awards as well. Hmm, or could it be his fame diminishing as he aged?

For a 40 yrs old guy, he sure still maintain himself in good shape. Apparently he will be holding a concert here in Singapore on the 8th Jan 2010 and after that he will be focusing his attention to the movie industry and wont be cutting an ablum so soon. (Been listening to Peifen repeating all these details so many times untill I can memorise unknowingly -_-".)

I ordered a mango tart for myself and Shufen ordered a banana one. The tarts at Fruit Paradise are yummy but full of cream. Sinful! I simply love the rose bud tea over there too. Light fragrant tea taste! Hahaa...

Before heading back home, went to take some photos at the xmas tree near ION. Love the purple lighting decoration!

Check out the interior of the tree! So dazzling and cool!

Testing out our reflection in the xmas ball.

Xmas is coming in less than 30 days! N I need to find time to finish my xmas shopping soon and the need to gift-wrapping them too.

Don't worry Be happy

The need to have positive mindset is important. I’m trying to open one eye, close one eye towards some matters. That’s mean be more BO CHUP and don’t dwell on a particular incident or matter for too long. Grumble to friends about it and get it over ASAP.

Well, all of us have our shares of problem and feel the need to talk to friends, but doing it routinely and venting about insignificant things will just irritate people. I saw how some people becoming more and more negative and keep on grumbling day after day about every single thing. The grumbling can be endless if there is a negative mindset. Having negative mindset makes a person feeling tensed, creating more anxiety too. Their behavior is like a mirror image to me. That why I tell myself try not to follow their footstep as there’s no point making your own life miserable by digging the misery hole deeper and deeper and walloping in sorrow. Also, being around with such people are like toxic in your life. Thus try to avoid such toxic influence in your life as it just drags you down as well!

It’s true that life is not fair.

Some people can have a better life than others. So what? Be contented with what you have. I don’t see the point comparing my life to theirs. Example, if a friend had the ability to buy a car, I would be happy for her and not jealous of her. But to some, perhaps they would make some remarks: like “wow, so rich ah” The thing is everyone can afford to buy too. It’s only if they want or not. It’s like having priority on your checklist. Some would spend on food or on gadgets or on luxury goods or on travelling.

Life is short. Just enjoy life and be positive and choose the way you want to live your life.

Colddddddd weather

The weather for these few days are getting really cranky. Like the past Mon - it was raining so heavily and I was shivering in the office, trying to stay awake during work. So I brought a thicker jacket to keep myself warmer yesterday. But it was bright and sunny and the need for the warmer jacket was redundant. "Diao"

Today, when the rain starts to pour down around late afternoon and still continue when I was knocking off, I knew it will be a long way home. The traffic jam along PIE was terrible. Unexpected traffic accidents can happen on such weather condition. Imagine I got home 2 hours later, feeling hungry and cold and my ass was sore from the long journey.

Somehow I wasn't feeling frustrated as I thought I would be after getting home after 2 hours later. Perhaps it was mid-week and 2 more days to Friday liven up my mood a bit. Always looking forward to Friday! Who doesn't hur?

Oct 2009

Shufen made reservations for this dinner gathering at a cafe named 15 minutes ( inside Lasalle College of the the arts). My first time stepping in this art school although it's just a stone away from my current school. Stepping inside, I found that the interior design is quite arty farty and unique.

:: I ordered fiery chicken with herbed rice. Not too spicy for me. Yummy!::

After that, went to TCC nearby to have our usual chat( cum gossip cum update session). Actually before that, we took some really funny photos on our way to the cafe.. But i'm not supposed to upload them .. hahaa.. ELSE the gals will "kill" me..

Anyway it was a fun meet- up after so long! Next up will be Meizhi's and Dawn's bday before 2009 ends! Time really flies fast... only 2 months to go! Maybe i feel that I didn't do any constructive stuff this year. NO travelling for me either! So bored in singapore.. Duhz...

OH well, next year then! Got quite a few stuff on my list that I wanna achieve next year. Hope I will have my wishes come true. *Cross fingers*

Ben and Jerry Chuck Fest at Marina Barrage

After tennis lesson, off I went to meet up with Trixy and her sister n friends at Marina Barrage~
We took the shuttle bust at the bus stop outside Marina Bay. Luckily it was only a short while to wait for the bus to arrive under the hot sun.

::The Ben n Jerry Mini Bus ::

We bought and share the 6 scoops of ice-creams with Trixy's sis and her friend. As it was already melting FAST, I didn't manage to take photos of our ice-creams. After a while, I couldn't differentiate the taste too when the ice-cream becomes watery. Hahaa..

::The hippie guy::

:: Not a very clear shot of The Singapore Flyer as the skies was foggy::

Some of them even brought their own food for picnic and sitting on the grass, enjoying the breeze and music of the concert. While some others are flying kites. It was kinda enjoying and relaxing to sit back and watched the kites fly high UP up n away in the sky.

:: The kites look so tiny in the skies ::

:: Yeah! We found a mat and quickly hurried over ^^ ::

::Funny faces again ::

I wonder where they bought their kites from. Saw many of them flying it! Wish I can join them. But I was feeling lazy and feeling tired from the tennis session, so I just stoned there. I can ALMOST sleep if i really closed my eyes and "sleep" on the mat.

::Colorful fountain lights brighten the night::

Quite a fun experience hanging out at Marina Barrage! I guess I wont purposely come here next time if there's no event as it was located in such a ulu place. Keke...

Sunny Saturday

:: John coaching Val ::

Yesterday morning, I wake up super early, which i seldom did. Quite rare too.

Anyway, it was my first lesson for tennis and I was looking forward to it!

John, my study buddy cum "xiao di" was our tennis coach and provided us the rackets and the tennis balls. Woo... cool hur? I was quite surprised to hear his experience in tennis. He actually played tennis for 14 years since he was primary 5!

He was very patient teaching us the basics techniques like how to hold the rackets properly and how to serve the ball over to the other side of the net. According to him, he told us that normally, it will normally takes 4-5 months for amateurs players to start their first game properly( Duhz.. so long!) It was interesting to hear that his coach made him practise bonucing the tennis ball at the "sweet spot" of the racket for a month before he was taught the basic stuff.

We were practising for 3 hours under the hot sun and sweat profusely. As usual, my face got much more redder than others easily. After the whole lesson, I realise my 2 arms got sunburnt too. Uneven tones! Next time must remember to apply sunblock on my body as well le!

Surprisingly

My first birthday card for 2009! I never would have guess who is the sender at all....

It's not send by my friends or my colleagues.

But by my school admin staffs!

I was laughing out loud when I opened it.

Quite a Joke that they "remember" my birthday as it is the first time they send out a card to me.

I wonder did my other classmates received it too. Maybe I should check out with John. His birthday is coming soon.

Fr3b

After my facial session, I went to the opening of Fr3b yesterday - the first online sampling Hub. It is located on the 3rd level of Stamford House, 5 mins walk from cityhall station. Click on the link on the main page to find out more if you are keen to go down and have a look!

::Goodie Bag ::

::Items in the goodie bag::

For just $28.00 a year, you get to try out free samples either online or at the store itself before purchasing at Watsons. Just type out your view on the products you get and 2 points will be allocated to you.

Or if not, for a trial, you can sign up an account first online and you should be able to get 2 samples of the product you wish to try out first. Just pay for the postage will do.

Well, I signed up for the Watsons card on the spot - S$5.00 for lifetime membership.

Every S$5 spend, you get 1 point.
Every $50 per transaction - 10 bonus points. Therefore, every 20 points = S$1.00.
For birthday month every year, there will be 5X bonus points.
Check out www.watsons.com.sg for more information.

Hmm, the cool thing according to the promoter, early birds get S$150 worth of vouchers, but in my opinion, the vouchers discount doesn't seem very attractive ley.

:: What I collected for the 8 free samples ::

I checked out the price for the 2 freeman bottles. It actually cost S$9.90 each. Wah, I'm quite surprised that the sample size was the same size as the retail size too! Can't wait to start commenting on the products I got and earn points soon! Hahaa...

My view for the chips above - Super salty and the vinegar smell is quite strong too! Not to my liking. Don't buy!
