Almost a month went by since I came back from Europe n I also too lazy to write the full details
of what we have done during the trip. So here's a brief one then.
London:
- Weather was too cold in the morning n evening, cranky and sometimes so hot in the afternoon altot it was supposed to be autumn!
- Everything so expensive!! I topped up my farecard with 5-6 pounds almost every day in London. Even buying a mineral bottle at Boots(their watson over there) cost me 1 pound( which is around S$2.50) . Imagine buying one bottle once every 2 days...
- we went up the london eye! We were like "BBQ" chicken inside.. so hot as Mr Sun happen to be so sunny that day. I didn't enjoy the view much. One tix cost about S$45.00.
- we went St James park. There were squarriels n birds all around in the park. Ah zhi were so excited n feeding the squarriels with nuts but they dun quite like it.
Along the way, we visit Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Picadilly Circus, changing of the guards at the Guard house(luckily we went there on time to view their last changing duty at 4pm! The horse was magnificent tall) and Harrods at Knightsbridge.
- we wore cool clothes! (summer-clothes, winter-clothes, summer-clothes, autumn-clothes)
- We visit Topshop almost everyday when we went town. Not to shop but to use their toilet! Hahaha... well, toilets are not easily found in london.
Sot he theory we come up with was : just use toilet whenever there is one even though u have no urge. :P
- we discovered tat we LOVE primarks and H&M and we spent a fortune at these 2 places.
- Taking their tube(MRT) was amazing. I saw people throwing newspaper, bottles n can drinks at the back of their seats. Oh ya.. they also eat on the train as well. So unhygience as im scared it will attract cockroach! I will freak out if i saw one on the ride. But luckily i saw none... phew...
Paris:
- Our fav destination during the trip! We love the place~
- we went to eiffel tower and it rained and we were like crazy women trying to take photos in the cold cold rainy weather... I got smacked by my own brolly n Ah zhi was crouching on the muddy flr in the rain tyring to snap pics of the pretty blue tower...
- Nutella crepe was just so-so only. Someone told me it's a must-eat item over there... I'm not really a chocolate lover.
- we love Luxemborg garden! we bought Mac there by the pond, admiring the flowers and people... so relaxing~
- we love Notre Dame church! both of us agree whole heartedly that Notre Dame is the most beautiful church we ever been to. we even went there twice coz we liked it so much! also the bell tower was nice despite all the steps we had to climb.. keke
- we went up the arc de triompe, one of France's most recognizable symbols. It was built by Napoleon I- a monument to his army and his own military genius. It was a wonderful view of the city, tower and Champs Elysee.
- we shopped as if money fell from the sky...... we went to so many LV and Gucci shops...
- Sacré-Coeur, a famous white pastry like architecture and another of our fav church. It is located on top of the Montmartre Hill, one of the highest points in Paris.
There are many small cafes, village like streets and squares, and restaurants down the hill.
- Not to forget the famous Lourve Museum. I only know there's a Mona Lisa Painting inside. To me, the amazing part about this painting was her eyes ( I know her smile was named the beautiful one). No matter which angle you were standing to view the painting, her eyes were looking straight back at you. eerie.. lotsa paintings, sculptures, stones as well. Very Arty place.
Italy:
- Sirmione! I love the place. Damn happy to see the lovely sea surrouding this town. It had castles and roman ruins too! (I realise I dun really like stones, ruins... dunnoe how to appreciate them. Ha...)
- Venice was a disappointment, not a romantic place to me at all. Perhaps of the grey. gloomy weather. Only shopping for those lovely pendants can cheer us up that day.
- Too many pizza and pasta for meals are making us sick. I miss chinese food! I miss soupy mee!
- Most well-known monuments in Verona are the Arena and Juliet’s balcony.
- Paying to use their toilets in italy was something I would nv forget in my life. Freaking 8 euros! It's free in singapore loh! Kaoz...
