Movie price increase

From 31st Jan onwards, I heard from the radio this morning that there will be a price increase for Cathay cinema shows. Gosh.. the movies tickets are getting more and more costly. Watching a general movie during weekend is going to be $10! Pengz…got to be selective to watch movies from now onwards.

Well, the general ticket prices are upped by 50 cents (a 6% increase) while a new Blockbuster tier has been introduced where tickets to selected movie titles will be increased by an additional 50 cents. Can refer to this link for more updates

Why is the prices increasing everywhere? Even the food that I’m having during my lunch break has increased price recently too… Why aren’t our pay increment increasing tremendously? Sianz…

Although I’m not a big fan of watching movies but it’s one of the few entertainment activities that sometimes we can go for during gatherings. Maybe hanging out in café and gossiping with friends is more cost-saving than going for movies in the future. Lol

But meanwhile, even before this price hikes news, I’m already thinking to watch either Stephen Chow(长江七号) or Kungfu Dunk acted by Jay chou. See how first... if I can find kaki to go along, I might watch it.. haha

2008 brides

These last 2 days had been busy accompanying Cindy & Shufen to choose their wedding photos and wedding gowns respectively. I love giving my opinion on these kind of stuffs. Guess it's my interest to 研究.

Looking at Cindy’s wide range of photos selection, we knew it will be a challenge to choose the 65 photos out of 200+ photos. Ahhh, dolling up like a princess and having a chance to be treated like a celebrity, is really seems so fun. Esp when the photos turned out great, can see the happiness on their faces. According to them, the whole thing lasted from morning till night fall. But it was definitely worth it even though they were tired and Cindy fall sick after that too. If one day when my turns comes and if got chance, it would be cool to have the photoshoots oversea. But I heard it's rather ex la. Just hoping again...

As for Shufen, it was a pity that I forgot to charge my camera and my Hp that day, otherwise I would have took some photos of shufen in her gowns. Hahaa…It’s quite rare to see her in girly attire as she has a rather weird fashion sense and she seldom puts on makeup. Hmm, I would say she’s more of a sporty kind of gal, who is rather different from the rest of us in the gang. Thus, we are rather glad to accompany her along to choose her gown. Anyway, I left for class in the midst of choosing and met them again after my class ends. Turned out that she only managed to choose 2 sets and had to go back again. Blame it on their few selections. Well, it’s better to choose the nicest gowns if there is chance since already pay for so much.

Both of them asked me to be their sisters and tt will be going to be my 5th & 6th time le. OMG! So many times liao. Pengz. Sigh… actually I do mind being sisters so many times. But for my two good friends, I agreed.

Hahaa. Oh well, my last time will be reserved for Sihan as we both have discussed it before. Lol.. Shall look forwards to the sisters meeting to sambo their hubbies then. Hiak Hiak….

Hopes for 2008

A new year. A new beginning. Times flies fast when people are getting older. That’s how I feel. During school times, the June & Dec school holiday always seem to take very long to arrive. But now, one year passes very fast after another. And my age is going to change from 2X to 3X soon. I don’t wannnntttt!!!! Can time stop?!?! Hahaa..

Anyway I’m going to set some resolutions for this year so that when I looked back my life, at least I accomplished some of my goals in life.

a) Lose 5kgs by exercising. Swimming is probably the best form of exercise for me. I can’t jog as I pant very easily.

b) Pass my second year modules and get some of my desired gradings.

c) Visit Sihan in UK with Bee & Meizhi this year. Hope that this trip will not be delay anymore.

d) Try to read widely as many as possible to improve my English and knowledge.

That’s all I can think of now.

For 2008, I also look forward to attend my 3 close’s friend’s weddings. Friends are important to me. I don’t need many of them. Just a few close friends will do and I really cherish them. Only close friends will share the happiest and sad moments in your life.

I do feel the gap widening when some of my close gal friends got married or even have kids of their own. Although we are not close as compared as before, hope that at least we can try to catch up during gatherings at times.

But seem like during gatherings, the topics brought up were very different too, somehow feel very distant and strange to me. Because nowadays it’s about renovation, buying furniture/flats and discussing about their kids talk. The topic might be common to discuss for those couples who are getting married or already married. At times, I do feel alienated. It’s not a very nice feeling to be sitting there listening to their talks when you do not know what to contribute.

When I try talking about my own stuff, seem like it was gone unheard. Esp when most of them are in pairs n I’m the only single. Oh well, guess that can’t be helped. Just don't ignore my presence.

Anyway hopefully, I will be able to fulfill my resolutions this year. Achieving it will give me a sense of achievement and makes my life happier. Cheers!
