The first photo shows a regular Tampa Street, with pizza shop on the corner. The weather has been rather grey and cloudy as you can see, but nothing I'm not already used to from Nottingham/London. I was actually trying to take a picture of a blimp but it showed up too tiny on my camera phone so I settled for a shot of the street I happened to be standing in instead.
Tampa where I was located was kind of bland, with only a few shops that generally closed by 5pm. This translated to largely in-hotel dining or starve. The funny thing here is the way pizza shops capitalise on the market gap and slip delivery flyers under the hotel door (we deliver up to 1am...or 3am). Observing market growth for the pizza industry slowing, innovativation has become the rallying cry with creations like 'Breakfast Pizza' aimed to dispel the standing belief that pizzas are foods to be eaten later in the day, and in consequence of course sell more of the flat breads. Somehow this rings of McDonalds.
The other two photos are from Hockey Night yesterday. Home team Tampa Bay Lightnings vs St Louis Blues. Blues expected to be trashed but gave the Lightnings a good run for their moneywith a final 4-3 score to home. Very exciting fast paced game that marries grace on skates with game-inspired violence. 3 sets of 20 mins, and complete with junior team and cheerleaders featured. Excellent stuff. Unfortunately I was keeling over in my seat only 30 mins into the game from jetlag. Managed to stay awake till the end though and even follow the puck progress most of the way! Thanks to Trico for the tickets, and Kevan/.Rojean for organizing.
