Apple Picking 2012
We picked over 20 lbs. of apples this year. Since I was about 32 weeks pregnant Dave did all the work of carrying the apple basket and pushing the kids in the wagon. Lilly picked a good amount of apples and helped us hunt down the big apples, but Mia was not so into picking this year. This pic sums up our apple picking trip!

Mother's Day
The girls and I on the porch on Mother's Day. Look at how tall the girls are now! They both look so big to me in this picture.
Summary Of Life In Dates
February 29th - March 7th: Disney World and Sea World vacation. This time it was fun and memorable but stressful and super exhausting at times. Vacation pictures here.
April 1st - 8th: Read The Hunger Games triology. Dave and I were reading the books around the same time. At least we finished reading the third book on the same night. We then watched The Hunger Games movie on our date night the following night. We really enjoyed all three books and the movie. I might have liked them a little more since I watched interviews and the making of the movie on YouTube, listen to the movie soundtrack, and I reread all three books a month after I read through them the first time. I think I'm done now ... until the second movie Catching Fire comes out next year.
April 6th: Easter egg hunt with 27 homeschool kids. A friend and I organized an egg hunt and a few egg relay races for the kids. It was a big turn out and a lot of fun! Lilly won first place for the girls relay race.
April 19th - 21st: Ladies leader retreat in New Jersey. 17 ladies stayed in a beach house, with 2 bathrooms, and studied the book of Philippians for 3 days. God really blessed the time of studying the Bible. Philippians is packed with so many great truths of who Christ is.
May 13th: Mother's Day. Dave and the girls gave me a new spiral bound journal, a bouquet of pink tulips and a Mother's Day balloon. Dave also smoked ribs and chicken for a big Sunday night dinner. Andy made a delicious gourmet mac and cheese. It was a treat to have both of the dads cook for our two families.
May 15th: Lilly was eating corn on the cob at dinner when she complained that it was making her teeth hurt. She said it was her bottom teeth. Sure enough, we took a look at them and her two front bottom teeth look like they've gone loose and crooked! Lilly's first loose tooth! She was so excited. She said, "I've been waiting for this!" We're excited for her too. So I guess we'll be waiting for her first tooth to fall out sometime soon.
June 3rd: Vacation! We're looking forward to a vacation to the Outer Banks, NC and then a two-day stop at Busch Gardens on the way back home.
November 7th: Baby #3's due date! I'm 15 weeks along and happy to be in the second trimester of the pregnancy. I felt pretty miserable the first trimester. I was definitely hit hard with the nausea and fatigue. Mid-June we hope to find out if baby #3 is a boy or a girl! We're all hoping for a boy. Dave's been calling baby 'he' and Lilly's been telling me she wants a baby brother. Of course, if we have another girl we'll be thrilled. Girls are what we know and we have plenty of girly clothes and toys for her too.

We're Going To Disney World!
AND Sea World!
In exactly two weeks we'll be on a plane to Orlando, FL! It's been over a year since our last family vacation so we've been itching to do some kind of vacation. When researching different vacation places, Dave and I kept coming back to Disney World! I know we were just there last year, but it was such a good family vacation! We had a great time and there's definitely a lot for the kids to enjoy.
Watch the videos of us surprising the kids with the news of the vacation!

Happy 5th Birthday Lilly!
5 years ago, on February 3rd, Lilly was born at 7:27am. Wow, 5 years ago!!!
To celebrate Lilly's special 5th birthday we:
- Had a unicorn birthday party with 11 of her friends.
- The night before her actual birthday we decorated the upstairs and hung her birthday banner (we decorated a "Happy Birthday Lilly" banner) in her room.
- Dave took off work a few hours early so we could go to the mall in Virginia.
- Went to the American Girl store and picked out a new My American Girl that looks like Lilly. She also picked out a few outfits and accessories for her new doll.
- Ate dinner at Noodles and Company (her choice!) to enjoy some mac and cheese.
- Had dessert at Coldstone Creamery. She requested ice cream over cake, cupcakes, and frozen yogurt.
5 is a big birthday! Lilly has grown a lot in the last year. Well we discovered she grew 3 inches since last year. In school, her handwriting has improved, she's reading short sentences, and enjoys adding numbers to 10!
Lilly still has a joyful spirit. She loves to giggle and laugh hard. She's considerate and compassionate towards others. Lilly is nurturing and is a wonderful big sister. She says Mia is one of her good friends and is always watching out for her.
Lilly is a smart little girl who likes fun and adventure. She sometimes breaks out in loud operatic song and dance, but other times she's doing Kung Fu kicks or chasing us with play swords. Lilly says funny things and sweet things too. We love you Lilly! Happy birthday, sweetheart. :)
