Our Discharge

Dr Chan finally gave me the go ahead to be discharged today!! Yipee... I missed Kel & my home. :p However, I was given strict orders to take things easy & to get more rest.

He came in to check on me today at about 9am, dressed casually. It was then I realised that today is Sun. He did his usual checks & asked me whether I feel ok to be discharged. Of coz I replied that I am ok. I have no wish to stay another day in the hospital & incurred more charges. Initially Dr Chan wanted me to stay for another day to be monitored as I had lost a lot of blood during the operation. A normal person's red blood cell count is about 13. Mine was 9 after the operation which is considered very low. Dr Chan told me that if my red blood cell count was any lower, I would need to have a blood transfusion. It sounds so scary to me. He also told Kel to take good care of me! In addition, he also prescribed some medications for me such as iron pills, painkillers, medications for my allergy, etc. Boy, that was a lot of medications for me to take.

I got dressed while Kel went to settle the hospital bill. Omg, we had to cough up about S$3,000 in cash!! *faint* Giving birth is definitely not cheap!

When Kel came back, we went to pick up Baby from the nursery. He looked so sweet in his new clothes! The nurse helped us to swagger him & gave us some bottles of formula milk for us to bring home. Then she helped me to carry Baby while Kel carried my stuff. Argh... Walking to the pick up point is so torturous!! The pain is killing me!! It was then I wished that I had taken up my mum's offer to accompany us back home. The nurse told Kel to drive the car to the pick up point while we wait for him. When Kel arrived, he helped me to get into the car. Once I was comfortably settled, the nurse passed Baby to me & we drove home.

Once we were home, I carried Baby to his cot. He looked so sweet sleeping in it. Looking at him, my pain kind of lessen.

The 1st pic of Baby sleeping in his cot. The bean bag was hand made by my mum.

Baby woke up & looked at his surroundings.

Close up of Baby.

Baby yawning.
