We registered yesterday for some things that we need for the baby! Here are the two places we registered. I still need to do a little editing. For some reason some of the clothes we registered for at Babys R Us looks like the wrong thing. I am confused about that, but I guess I will have to go in and ask them about it. Basically, we are happy with boy clothes, diapers, gift cards and anything listed on the registries. :) Thanks!

Heidi, the Little Mommy
Heidi usually comes in my room in the morning when she wakes up and then I get up and we go eat breakfast. This morning when I got up, Heidi said, "Do you need to go potty, Mommy? I think you should try." Ha ha... I think she has heard that a few times. :) Yes, thank you sweetie, I think I will try. If only she would listen to my suggestions just as easily.

Pregnancy dream #1
I think I've already had a couple weird dreams but this is the first one I can remember the details. I had a ton of crazy dreams when I was pregnant with Heidi. I'll try to post them when I can remember them.
This dream is a little jumbled, but it went something like this:
Somehow, even though we were on no lists to get a baby through adoption, we suddenly were able to get a baby. We brought this little boy home and without any discussion Clint announced that his name would be "Abner". I thought that was an odd choice but kind of just went with it. Then, I suddenly realized that I was still pregnant and we would soon be expecting another baby. I remember thinking how full our hands were going to be but knowing we would manage. Then the dream started adding new strange turns but I won't go into all of it. I just know that I finally decided I had to veto the name Abner. When Clint was leaving for work this morning I woke up and told him that Abner was not an option. He thought that was pretty funny. Oh one of the other details I remember was that the baby had been born in Chemnitz.

Peace of Mind
Dear Lord,
I want so desperately to have peace of mind but my mind can't stop racing and worrying. I know I shouldn't worry but should wholly lean on you. It is not as easy to do though. I do love you and know you are there but my heart is heavy and full of fear. Please help me through this time and give me comfort. I will do my best to release everything to you. Thank you for always being with me.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen

Ultrasound
Unfortunately I had some more spotting. I called my doctor this morning to see what he thought. Basically the nurse just asked if I wanted to get an ultrasound and that it was completely up to me if I wanted one. I think it's mostly for my peace of mind, but that's an important thing to have. So I went in to the hospital today and had the ultrasound and the baby's heartbeat was great and was dancing all over the place. :) There's still no explanation for the spotting really but my doctor is supposed to call me when he looks over the results of the ultrasound. I'll keep you updated.
Tummy's Getting Bigger
The other day, Heidi looked at me and suddenly exclaimed, "Your tummy got bigger!" As if she had just noticed it for the first time. :) Then she asked, "Is it time for the baby to come?" I had to explain how it had to grow a lot more and it would take a long time for it to be ready. :)

Good News
I called the doctor this morning and talked to the nurse. She said since I got checked out at the Emergency Room and we know the baby is ok and the bleeding has stopped, I don't need to go to the doctor. There is nothing really different or new he could do anyway. If I have any more problems, then I will call right away and get in to see him. On another good note, she said I don't have to be on bed rest. Yes, I will still avoid anything strenuous and take it easy, but I can do my normal activities so that will make things easier to take care of Heidi and get some things done around the house. Don't worry though, I'm not planning on thoroughly cleaning or anything like that. I will do what I need to do and what I feel I am able to do, but will also rest as much as possible. Thank you for your prayers and hopefully things will continue to go smoothly.

Prayers
Well, what I was praying and hoping wouldn't happen has happened...
I went to the ER last night. I started having bleeding. Thankfully some friends of ours, the Abercrombies, are here visiting and could stay at home with Heidi and Clint took me. The baby is fine, praise God! The heartbeat is normal and we saw the baby doing a little jig on the ultrasound. :)
It appears that what happened with Heidi is happening again. The same exact thing happened at pretty much the exact same time in my pregnancy with Heidi. So I am praying that the results will be the same, for a sweet, healthy baby at the end of all this. Please pray with me.
They released me to go home and put me on bed rest. I will call my doctor on Tuesday and hopefully can get in as soon as possible. I'll keep you posted.

2 years
Two years ago on August 20th, we moved from Germany to Oklahoma. It's hard to believe it has already been that long. We still miss it so much and I don't think that will ever change. We have been blessed though by many new friends and new experiences here. What a blessing that God has filled our lives with friends near and far and that we know we have support and love coming from all over the world. I just couldn't let the anniversary go by without mentioning it.

Pretty Please
Heidi was asking me if she could watch a video... a constant thing around here. We only have certain times of the day that I let her though because otherwise she would watch videos all day long. So this is how it went:
Heidi: Can I watch a "bideo?"
Me: No, not right now.
H: Can I pleeeeaassssse watch a bideo???
M: What did I say?
H: Yes??
M: No.
H: Oh, pretty please can I watch a bideo?
I didn't even know she knew about the "pretty please" thing. At least she didn't say pretty please with a cherry on top. :)

God's House
This morning Heidi came in and got in bed with me when she woke up. After lying there for a couple of minutes she said, "Mom, I want to go home. I want to go to our real home. This one is bad." So I looked at her and asked, "Where is our real home?" Heidi answered, "God's house! I want to go there!" I said, "You're right, that is our real home and someday we will go there when God says it's time. But God is always with us." She continued on to ask about where God was and if we can see Him. I gotta say I was not expecting that first thing this morning. That girl's heart is so sweet. Talk about putting my day in perspective.
Thank you, God, for giving me such a sweet girl who teaches me what is truly important.

A little mixed up
I asked Heidi what kind of sandwich she wanted for lunch and she said she wanted a "garlic sandwich". I said, "ummmm.... Are you sure about that?" Quickly She corrected herself and said, "No, I changed my mind! I want a jellyfish..... Uh peanut butter and jelly sandwich!"

Our child, the genius
Last night at dinner Heidi was eating her fish. Then she said, "I'm eating my fish! I'm eating it like a Pteranodon!" Thank you "Dinosaur Train" for making my 3 year old sound like a genius! Of course, she was already a genius to begin with! :)

Hot Tamales
After Heidi's nap we went to get ice cream. After we were done we were walking to the car and Heidi said, "it's a hot tamale!" ha ha!

Scripture
You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit, since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the lord your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 12: 8-9
I was reading in Deuteronomy today and came across this verse. It made me think of the way we, including myself, think a lot of times today. We do things and reason with ourselves that we have the right to do it. So many times we forget to think if God wants us to act or think in that way. I know I need to remember to think about His will more than my own. It is hard when the whole world thinks that way.
This is just a thought I had today. Tell me your thoughts on this scripture.

Sweet sounds
We just put Heidi to bed and she is giving a concert in her room. :) The sweet thing about it is that she was just singing "You're the one, you're the only one. Lord, the people praise you, Lord the people praise you!" She was even doing the repeats. :) then she started singing "So be careful little ears what you hear."
I love that she is learning these songs and that is a sweet sound to this Mama's ears!

That's What I Get For Asking
Earlier when Heidi woke up I was in her room talking to her and randomly she said, "You can't go in the bathroom with the pee pee all over." I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked, "What are you talking about?" She answered without blinking an eye, "Pee pee."
I guess that's what I get for asking, right?

Snickers
I started this post at the end of March, after hearing the news about our beloved four-legged friend, Snickers. As you can tell from my blog, I haven't been that great with keeping up with it. However, I still want to share some things about Snickers and her quirkiness that I will miss.
![]() | |||||||
| It didn't take long for Snickers to attach herself to Clint. She loved him so much, and he loved her! |
![]() |
| Snickers' exciting adventure to Plauen! A friend invited us all to his art studio and wanted Snickers to come along. she was very nervous and rode most of the way on Karen's lap. |
![]() |
| Snickers got really excited about the potato launcher. The boys would use the leftover fireworks and put it in a pipe and put potatoes in there to shoot out. Silly boys... |
![]() |
| Getting ready for the launch! |
![]() |
| The anticipation! |
![]() |
| Traditional day after Christmas walk in the woods at the Wasserschloss. Snickers loved going on walks. |
![]() |
| Aren't we cute? Snickers even had a Christmas ribbon on. :) |
![]() |
| Snickers on her rug. She was supposed to stay on that rug and not come into the dining room. |
![]() |
| She of course loved to curl up and sleep. |
![]() |
| She was a sweet dog and loved attention. |
![]() |
![]() |
| When we grilled outside she would sniff every inch of the ground around the grill and table in hopes of finding crumbs. I'm pretty sure she licked up a lot of dirt. |
![]() |
| Did someone say food?! |
![]() |
| Remember how she was supposed to stay on her rug? Yeah, this is usually what it looked like.... she was touching the rug with her backside, does that count? :) |
![]() |
| Getting some special Thankgiving dinner! |
![]() |
| On a walk at the Wasserschloss |
![]() |
| Snickers taking Dustin, Karen's nephew, on a walk. :) |
![]() |
| Snickers was a card shark, bet you didn't know! :) |
![]() |
| I'm pretty sure Snickers either just licked Clint or she was about to in this picture. |
![]() |
| Cuddles |
![]() |
| Chilling |
![]() |
| Snickers decided she liked Clint's gym bag and we found her laying on it more than once. |
![]() |
| Christmas morning, Snickers got to open her stocking. |
![]() |
| Treats! |
![]() |
| When Heidi was born, Snickers was very jealous for a long time. Eventually she came around and they became good buddies. :) |
![]() |
![]() |
| Snickers got very excited to go to the May Day parade... maybe a little too excited. |
![]() |
| Sometimes Snickers would make little burrow under the bushes. |

| Our last walk with Snickers in November 2010 |

| Snickers loved playing in the snow |

| Look at her patiently waiting for her picture to be taken. :) |

Courtney's Book!
In celebration of the publication of her first book, Colors of Deception, Courtney Cantrell is giving some copies away! Over the next two weeks, she'll be collecting entries for a contest. Her two favorites will each win a free, signed paperback.
In Colors of Deception, cute college sophomore Holly Idaho discovers that a demon in stalking her. Over the course of the story, Holly realizes that this demon has a rabid and morbid fascination with the music of rock band INXS.
Why INXS? You'd have to ask the demon. ; )
According to this demon's favorite band, we all have "the devil inside." But maybe this devil prefers a different kind of music?
Maybe you think a demon should prefer Country & Western. Or might demons just sing the Blues? Perhaps they go for the classics like Black Sabbath.
Maybe they're insidious and love The Girl from Ipanema.
So here is Courtney's challenge to you: In one hundred words or less, tell her what music you think demons listen to and why.
Be scary, be humorous, be ridiculous, or be whatever you want to be. Courtney's two completely arbitrary favorite entries will each receive:
Courtney will probably post some other non-winning entries she thinks are clever as well.
Submit your entries http://courtcan.com/home/">here, in Courtney's email form. The contest ends at midnight, Central Standard Time [UTC-06:00], April 26th. Thanks for playing -- and happy writing!

Quotes of the day from Heidi
It's only 7:43 a.m. and I already have two great quotes from Heidi. We left the house at 4:30 a.m. to get to the airport for our 6:00 flight. In case you ever wondered... It doesn't matter how early it is, Heidi always seems to be full of energy and ready to entertain.
On the flight from OKC to DFW, Heidi looked out the window and saw the lights of Dallas and said, "Wow, is that Christmas?!" "No sweetie, that is the city!". :)
Then a lady was talking to her and asked her name and she said, "My name is Heidi! This is Clint and this is April!" Ha ha ha! I've never heard her introduce us like that before. She is so goofy. She then proceeded to entertain several people until we boarded. :) She is definitely not shy.

Happy Wednesday
I guess Heidi is getting into the creative name game. This morning she was asking me what one of her stuffed animal friends was called and I said she could name it anything she wanted. She thought for a minute and said, "It's called Happy Wednesday!"

Heria
Don't worry if you don't understand the title of this post. It's a Heidi original. Today she was playing with some toy dogs... There seems to be a theme lately. :) One of the dogs goes with her Fancy Nancy doll and it has a name tag that says "Frenchy." she asked me what the other dog's name was and I told her she could name her anything she wanted to. She looked at it for a minute and said, "Heria, is that her favorite name?" I said, "Sure!". :) I have to say that is a pretty unique name. It's pronounced her-ee-uh. :)

Conversation with a Doggie
Heidi: Woof woof! Doggie says she wants up!
Me: If doggie wants a sandwich, then Mommy has to make it though.
H: Woof woof! Doggie says she wants jello!
M: If doggie wants jello, she has to eat her whole sandwich first.
H: Woof woof! Doggie says she wants to go to Karen's house!
Ha ha.. I have a silly little doggie today. :)

Trees broccoli
Eating dinner tonight, Heidi ate really well! I was very pleased. I made meatloaf, steamed broccoli and apples with a bit of butter and brown sugar (yum!). First I was surprised because she ate all of her meatloaf up and asked for more! I told her to go ahead and eat what was on her plate first and then she could have more. So she ate her apples next and asked for more. I asked her to eat her broccoli first and she ate it all and asked for more! This girl must be going through a growth spurt because she ate more of everything. When eating her broccoli she said, "Mmm... I love trees broccoli!".
#1 I love that she loves broccoli.
#2 I love that she calls it trees broccoli. :)

Jill and Billy
I almost forgot about this... So funny!
A few days ago, Heidi was sitting on the toilet and randomly named her feet "Jill and Billy".
That girl is hilarious. :)

Silly
The other day Clint said something like, "rock on!" and Heidi said, "don't say that, say yippie skippie!" :) Earlier Clint said "yippie skippie" and Heidi said, "no, don't say that! Say, oh my dragon!" ha ha ha!

Confusion during church
Today after communion and they were doing the collection, Clint gave Heidi a quarter like we do every week for her to put in the collection plate. I told her we were going to give the money to Jesus. So as the guy comes to pass the plate Heidi looks at the guy standing at the end of the isle and asks, "Is THAT Jesus?!" Ha ha ha ha! We of course start laughing and people around us were laughing at this point. "No sweetie, Jesus lives in heaven!" Ha ha... it is a little bit confusing isn't it?
