Happy Mother's Day

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hi Everyone,

We are fast approaching Mother's Day so it is time to dust off the Vintage papers and create a card for your Mother. This one is actually a gift for a friend so I still have to make a card for my own Mother.

I have seen this card used by many different people and I absolutely just love it so I had to give it a whirl. It's called a Pop Up Book Card and you can find the tutorial here.

I am really happy with the way it turned out. What I like about this card the most is the inside. We normally do not give much attention to the inside but this fold is all about the inside.

Since this was a gift for a friend I also made a special box to hold the card. You can find my tutorial here.

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

B226 - Happy (Set of 2)
B227 - Love (Set of 2)
B232 - Mother's (Set of 2)
B235 - You (Set of 2)
B236 - Day (Set of 2)
B308 - City Girl Edger
B311 - Chrystanthemum Strip
B315 - Ivy Corner Flourish
XM-8 - XM Scalloped Oval
DL140 - Dutch Scallop Square
Flourishes Stamps - Motherly Love

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Mother's Day! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

Winter Whites Fancy Fold Card

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful week so far. Today I would like to share a card I created in keeping with this weeks challenge theme - Winter Whites. But, before we get to my card, I hope you all have had an opportunity to check out the fantastic inspiration that has been posted on both the Cheery Lynn Inspiration Blog and here on our Challenge Blog this week by some of my fellow DT members. They have posted some definite beauties that you just don't want to miss!

For my card today, I wanted to show you one of my favorite shapes to make. I just love this fancy fold. I think it's because it reminds me of opening a present for some reason LOL!... I also like it because it's different and has a little flair. To give my card more of that "Vintage" flavor, I added some light distressing which seemed to do the trick leaving a slightly antique look and feel.

Here are some pretty straight-forward instructions on how you can get this fold. Just a FYI - the card measures 6.5" wide by 7.5" high.

1. Cut a piece of cardstock 6.5" x 7.5" for the base
2. Cut 2 pieces of cardstock 7" by 7" for the folding flaps
3. Cut a piece of cardstock 6" x 7" for the inside of the card
4. Score both the 7" x 7" pieces at 3" and 6"
5. Attach the 1" piece of the panels you just scored to each side of the 6" x 7" inside. When you are done you will have one large piece that you simply attach to the base
6. Decorate and enjoy!

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

A196 - Darling Daisies
B162 - Lace Corner Deco B
B187 - Build a Flower #2
CM-4 - A6 Metric Card Stackers Rectangle Scalloped
DL136 - Japanese Garden Lace Oval with Angel Wing

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Winter Whites! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Also, just a gentle reminder to come back and visit us tomorrow (Saturday, January 12th) when all of the Design Team will be here to provide you with some fantastic inspiration created using the super exciting January release! I know you are going to just fall in love with these new gorgeous dies!

Hi everyone, It's so nice to be back with you today after our lovely little break. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

I can't believe I am saying this but it actually feels really good to step away from all of the holiday cards and projects LOL! So, with that in mind, and dreaming about sunshine and warmer temperatures (we are in a deep freeze here at the moment with temperatures of -13 degrees Fahrenheit!)... I wanted to share with you a pretty Spring/Summer card that has recently been published in the March 2013 issue of Scrap and Stamp Arts Magazine. SSA has an exciting new section entitled “The Cutting Edge” and in this issue Cheery Lynn Designs is featured!

I hope you can find some time to participate in our challenge this week. With your entry, you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Also, just a gentle reminder that on January 12th we will be unveiling the new release and all of the DT will be back with some fantastic inspiration to share with you. This release is absolutely HUGE and we are all very excited to have such lovely dies to create with.

Have a Cheery Day!

One Was Silver One Was Gold

5:00 AM 6 Comments

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is

Silver Or Gold
Here are the rules:
  • You MUST follow the theme and use at least one Cheery Lynn Designs die, of course, we would love to see more than one.
  • You MUST add a link to your blog post in the InLinkz at the end of that post; no back posting, only new projects are allowed
  • You MUST link to our Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog in your post
  • You may only enter the challenge ONCE per week.
The winner will be chosen based on merit by Cheery Lynn Designs. They will receive a $20 coupon for shopping at the Cheery Lynn website. The challenge will end on Sunday night at 22:00 Eastern time.

In addition, our design team members will be voting on 3 favorites who will receive a Weekly Spotlights badge to display on their blog. Be sure to come back on Wednesday to see who earned the badge.

I used the following supplies:

This is actually a clear piece of  craft acetate that was going to be a layout to frame and hang. I tried so hard to get a picture, kept getting the reflection. Some of the pieces are on the backside  and a few are on the top. I just placed a piece of white paper on the backside.
I used some silver ribbon and Gold highlighing marker to outline the edges.
I also wanted to share a second project I made.
I only got these two pictures and then dropped the glass ball... I cut a couple decorative snowflakes in parchment paper and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder...I also embossed a couple silver for decorations underneath
I dropped some snow in the inside and tied one of my favorite bows in silver for the top .
Well that is all for me today, hope to see you play along with us this week.
