2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 21 Comments
Goodmorning lovelies,
You are here on the last day of the Halloween part two release and I am very glad you have been with us all these days. Don't you just love all the new dies? Well I do! I had so much fun creating this card. "Yep" sorry it's a card again as I told you the last time I was planning on creating a layout. But I have to admit I struggled with these dies because here in The Netherlands we don't celebrate Halloween that much and I have a son that hates to dress up. So I don't have any pictures of him that I can scrap...

BOO I dig you:
For this card I used all Maja Design papers and for once it's kind of clean & simple for me as I tend to always distress and stitch my papers and use all sorts of flowers on my work. I did not do that here at all {I don't want to brag, but I am kind of proud of myself ;-) }
There are fourteen new fun Halloween themed die sets to choose from and more other themed die sets in the next following days!

https://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/new-releases/
I have to tell you I really love these Monster Kid dies so I had to create with one of those sets! They are really detailed as you can see and you can layer them as you prefer.
The text on my card came from two different die sets the B840 - Fun with Frankenstein {NEW} and the B852 - Halloween Ghost {NEW} so you see that they can easily be used together as most of Cheery Lynn Design dies can be!

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today!
I hope you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to use your Cheery Lynn Designs dies. If you love the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used, you could always enter our bi-weekly challenge to win a $20 shopping spree.
This time it's challenge #234 "Christmas in July Theme" I can't wait to see your work! I am not such a fan of making Christmas cards but I really love to see everybody else their creative cards.

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Eva

3:30 AM 16 Comments

Hello there, this is Eva here today and I am sharing a fun card using some of the brand new Halloween dies.  Here is what I created with them!

To start out I created a 5.5" square card base out of black card stock.  Next I layered two smaller square panels out of patterned papers, than I started adding the dies, the Ultimate Halloween 5 piece Die Set.

I started out by die cutting the tree out of brown card stock and added black card stock behind the openings.  Next I die cut the pumpkins out of orange card stock and once again added black behind the openings and added them to my tree.  I die cut a circle and water colored it with yellow paint and added it to my tree and die cut the cat out of black and added it to my scene.  Next I die cut the ghost and the bat and added them to my scene and finally I die cut the word BOO out of black and added it to my card as well.

Hope you like this little card and here is the list of the dies I used to create it with:

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Eva

HAPPY HALLOWEEN WITH ANITA KEJRIWAL

3:30 AM 7 Comments
HELLO !!!!
A very very haunting happy halloween to all of you. The concept of Halloween is very new to me as in India this is not very popular but I browsed through the net and saw all those scary cards with ghosts and and just had the most amusing card. So in a way, this is my first halloween card and I hope I have done the right job.
In this card, I have created the background with spider webs and masking and stamping. The die cuts are theme based and yes  !!! the look so spooky !!! I simply love dthe little owl in the top left corner. Isn't he sweet and that crow in that twiggy wreath. !!!! These dies are just awesome. But my job is incomplete without flowers so I just added a few orange toned flowers made from the Baby breath die. I do hope it is apt for halloween.

List of supplies
stamps-stampscapes
inks-mustard seeds, ripe persimmon, black soot and vintage photo

Happy Halloween

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a fun Halloween card. I die cut the Lacey Pumpkin Corner in orange. I kept the orange pieces of the pumpkin to fill in the lace after I colored the lacey die cut with brown. When I layered the lacey corner onto the distressed matte, I glued in the orange pieces and colored in the leaf pieces with green watercolor.
I layered two of the sentiment tags and added the small Happy Halloween sentiment to the front. I completed the card with some penwork and white chalk.

Have a Magical Night

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a fun Halloween card with some of my favorite festive dies. I chose dies that would echo the circles in the image. The dots in the Horizon Square Boutique Frame, the Tiny Bubbles Border and the Dots in the Embossing plate all bring focus back to the little frog and his spots!  The bats and Spider Web Mesh Border were both cut from Glitter card stock for that added glitz. A bit of pen stitching on the focus square and some 3 dimensional bats finish off the card.

Spooky Fall Tag

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a Spooky Fall Tag using the Birch Tree with little animals--it has a fantastic owl. My tag is layered with a decorative paper, an orange matte that reveals a piece of lace, and a piece of embossed stone-colored paper.
I distressed the edges of the layers and chalked with pan pastel. Silver metallic pan pastel over the black iron fence and earthy brown pan pastel over the birch tree enhance the card. Small bats flutter through the trees complete the look.

Happy Halloween!

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a Halloween greeting! I used the Happly Halloween Twiggy Wreath from the latest release and paired it with some of my favorite Cheery Lynn Halloween dies--the spiderweb mesh border, the spiderweb, the Going Batty die and of course the fall pumpkins. This is my favorite time of year to craft!
For this card I added the spiderweb behind the twiggy wreath and gave it a dusting of fine glitter so that it would look like a glistening web. Behind the mesh border I added some real burlap and layered the pumpkins with the sentiment and some fun bats! I completed the card with jewels adhered to the "eyes" on the card.

Wishing you a Highly Entertaining Vintage Halloween

2:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here to share with you a Halloween card made with a vintage Halloween image and some of the beautiful new release dies! I die cute flowers from a mix of solid aged papers and vintage script paper to accent this cute digital vintage image. I further aged the lace and doily die cuts and the flowers with distressed ink and layered them with foam tape to create a fun card front! Colored lacquer is used to create the flower centers and a sprinkling of little bats complete the card--I ADORE these little bats!

Halloween Pumpkins - Table Decorations

3:30 AM 5 Comments
It is nearly Halloween!  We don't celebrate Halloween in Australia, though I do believe it is something that is fast catching on.  It would certainly be nice to experience Halloween, and certainly has an interesting story behind the occasion.

So, to get into the 'theme' of Halloween, for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a decoration of pumpkins, along with a small 'Boo' tag. Cheery Lynn Designs does have a 'Boo' die, but since we don't celebrate here I have not acquired it.  I hand wrote my Boo, but you can find the die 'here'.
These pumpkins are so easy to create and can be made in in a variety of sizes, easily, and quickly.  AND, would look absolutely fabulous created for a table setting.  I used the Circle Classic Silver Series  (middle size, for the larger one) and die-cut 8 circles - folding each circle in half, and pressing firmly with a score tool.  Hint:  It is easier to do the folding by hand rather than use a score board due to them being round - you really do have to be precise so they match up perfectly.
Then...simply start adhering one half to the next half, and repeat till you have all affixed, except last one.  Before adhering last half circle together, break a kebab stick with your hands (muscles) to fit inside the length of the circles.  Place a strong adhesive into the middle of where all the half circles meet - place stick along edge of adhesive - keeping the torn, tattered end of the kebab stick at the top, and poking out of the soon to be pumpkin.  Affix last half circle closed, and hold firmly till adhesive has dried, for best results.

The 'greenery' on the larger pumpkin is created with the Stacker Flower #4, and the smaller, the Stacker Flower #3. I used a crop-o-dile (any small round punch will work) to make the hole in the stacker flower larger to fit over the pumpkin stem, and adhered with a tiny smear of glue.

The tendrils are created using the new release Expandable Quilling Strip.  The smallest strips on the die-cut were just wound tightly around the left over piece of kebab skewer. Apply a tiny dot of glue to one end, and neatly tuck under the stacker flower foliage.
The  Scare Me die consists of the wicked little tree and cat.  The cat reminds me of my cat Ms Malinki! LOL

... and before I sign off for another week, this weeks challenge is 'texture', to enter visit the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog... and don't forget to pop over for a visit and some wonderful inspiration from the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog.
Till next week...

Halloween Once Again

3:30 AM 12 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans....Donna here with what will probably be my last Halloween card of the season......I hope you like it, and can see what can be created using the fabulous Halloween dies from Cheery Lynn.

To create my card I made a criss cross card which is 6x6 in size. I've created a scene in the centre using a Saturated Canary image and used the Victorian Picket Fence behind the image, some bats from the Going Batty die set, and some cobwebs in the corners from the Lace Deco Corner set H.
I've also used the Spooky Tree on the front and inside of the card placing them back to back. I also created a little sign for my sentiment using the Scalloped Square die.
A closeup of the middle of the inside
Closeup of the tree on the inside and the sign with sentiment
Closeup of the left side inside with pumpkins and the tree. And all the trees have little bats in, which you can see if you look for their eyes.
What the card looks like partially closed....I love how the fence meets in the middle
A view of the front of the card, both sides, and the back of the card is just black.....

I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation. Going to miss making Halloween cards.....but it's time to move on to Christmas for a couple months...LOL

Spooky Halloween

3:30 AM 8 Comments

Hello! Jodi here with a fun Halloween card.
I created the base of the card using the largest of the Classic Coved Rectangle Stacker Nesting dies. I then layered with the next smaller size followed with a Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stacker Layer. The Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections dies was used to create the matte behind the postcard. For a bit of spooky fun, the Creepy Gate is tucked in on either side of the post card.
I propped the Spooky Tree with foam adhesive to add a bit of dimension. I folded the wings of Going Batty for a bit of fun texture and dimension.
The design of my card was inspired by Pagemaps.

French Flair Halloween Card

3:30 AM 9 Comments

I will be so sad to see October leave as I love making Halloween cards.  I started my card with a green panel cut from my Kaleidoscope Lace French Flair die.  This is 6 1/8" square.  Using spray adhesive, I glued it down to a piece of black card stock and then hand trimmed around the edge of the die cut.  Using my French Flair Classic dies, I cut the dotted black panel.  This adorable Kitty Witch is a new image from Karen's Doodles.  I hand trimmed the image around the circle of the moon and then fussy cut around the cat and broom.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Spiderweb behind the image to give it kind of a moon glow.

I finished the inside of the card with the same dies.  Then using the new Expandable Quilling Strip die, I created the flower using text weight paper and a quilling tool.  I created 5 orange petals, 3 green leaves and then 3 yellow coils for the center of the flower.  The great thing about this kind of flower is how well it will go through the mail.  Because it has such a low profile, it won't lose it's shape.  This card will fit in a 6.5 inch envelope.

Boo

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Hello! Jodi here today with a 12x12 layout inspired by this weeks challenge, Orange and Black. Cheery Lynn Designs has so many fun Halloween dies. The dies I am sharing today are just a few. Check out the store for many other seasonal dies!
The Spiderwebs add a fun splash texture to the background. The Lace Light Deco Border has peaked scallop that flows nicely with the points of the Spiderweb, so I chose it to add to the edge of my banner. The font for Boo is perfect for a fun cutsie design, or works wonderfully with a more elegant design. I adhered the “B” using foam adhesive to add a bit of dimension. Notice the detail in the leaves?! Using Small Leaves #1 and Small Leaves #2, I cut from white cardstock and inked with an assortment of color of Ranger Distress Inks.
I cut Going Batty and Silly Spider from glitter cardstock for a bit of fun flair. The bats have wonderful detail lines in the wings. I folded the wings on those markings to add more dimension.
Since this layout is a bit flatter than I nomally create, I added dimension to Silly Spider by also adhering her with foam adhesive. The spider does come with diecut eyes, but by adding google eyes, it added a fun, light mood to the layout

Cheery Lynn Designs is releasing more beautiful dies on October 15th! Be sure to check it out as there will be beautiful dies added to some of the series, as well as a few dies with a new concept not done anywhere else on the market yet!

Halloween Fun

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning and Hello Cheery Lynn Fans, Donna here with my first card on the Inspiration Blog in almost a year.

I've decided to follow our great Halloween challenge and make a Halloween card as we don't celebrate it here in the UK as much as Canada and the USA, but I still love Halloween, so whenever I can make a card for it I grab the chance.

I used this image from The Paper Shelter, as I love all that hair she's got, and with it having a spiderweb and spiders in it, it tied in with the dies I would be using. I've cut it out using the Coved Rectangle Classic LG nesting dies. I've used the Spiderweb, the corner spiderweb, the silly spider in the upper right hand corner, and of course Going Batty (now Halloween wouldn't be complete with some bats or three) I've also created a lovely bloom in the corner using the Sweet Williams Dies, cut out of heavy white cardstock, then sponged with chalks, wet, crumpled, twisted and dried out to give the lovely shape to it. The stamens inside are from the Embellishment #1. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, and papers from Bearly Mine Designs and tag is a printable from a shop on Etsy.
My finished card is 6x6 inches minus the items hanging over the edges...lol

A closeup of my flower, the spiderweb and silly spider.

All of the above dies are available in the Cheery Lynn Designs shop and are listed below
