Second Easter egg hunt!

Every year my aunt, Kelly and her husband, Adrian have a big Easter celebration with our side of the family and Adrian's side of the family. There is usually around 40-50 people and around 17 kids (ranging in age from 17 to 1).... it is a fun time, despite the weather every year. With the rain forcasted for Sunday we didn't think we would be able to have the egg hunts outside... but the rain actually held off and we were able to have the 3 different hunts for the 3 different age groups.

Silly boy waiting for the egg hunt to begin!

Posing for the camera!

I think there is one up there!

"How many eggs do I have?"

Lainey with all of her eggs.... I think she found more than Miller again! (I love this picture!)

Pretty decent family picture of the four of us.... despite the tired looks from L & M!

The Easter Bunny came!!!

The Easter Bunny came.... L & M were so excited when they woke up Easter morning and found that the EB had come and hid eggs in the house and left them a basket full of goodies!

Lainey is already asking for candy before breakfast, what was that Bunny thinking leaving all of this non-breakfast eating snacks in their baskets!! Silly rabbit!

Miller didn't know what to grab first, the new Spiderman pj's, candy or the sidewalk chalk!

One of many Easter egg hunts!

Since Easter Sunday was forcasted to be so yucky, cold and rainy... the very thoughtful Easter Bunny decided he would hide eggs at Grammie & Pop's house on Saturday night. They are complete naturals.... I have to say Lainey found more eggs than Miller and she is very fast, too. Miller gets so focused on the egg he is after, he drops his basket and runs to gather the eggs.

" Umm, this egg looks like a baseball... oh well, Miller should have found it!"

I think Miller stopped here to open an egg and sneak some candy!

Day in the country with Grammie & Pop!

Lainey & Miller LOVE going to my parent's house. There is so much to do outside and they just love exploring and having fun. It is so much different than living in town and I am grateful they have the experiences out in the country.

Pop and Miller in their "playhouse", which used to be my dad's old deer stand.

This boy LOVES to drive the Gator and as you can see Pop really does let him drive wherever he wants and.... he is REALLY good at it!

I think he might be a driver one day, Nascar (hope not), chauffeur (really hope not), taxi cab (really, really hope not).... this boy loves to drive!

Trying to get a sweet picture of them in the bluebonnets, but they weren't in the mood... oh well!

Getting ready to go for a ride with Pop!

I love this picture.... Miller playing with a cool stick he found.

Sleepy girl!

After playing at Sonic, Miller came right in and got in bed for his nap.... Lainey, on the other hand, is not much on naps anymore, so I usually make her sit down and watch a movie and at least "rest" for a couple of hours. After watching Dora and the Mermaids for about 15 minutes she went to get her pillow, paci and blanket and curled up on the sofa, within 5 minutes (literally, enough time for Tony to jump in the shower) she was out. Tony couldn't believe she had fallen asleep so fast, and especially watching her favorite, Dora. A little while later my mom stopped by on her way home from work and sat down next to Lainey.

My picked her up and was shocked at how warm she was.... almost hot to touch! I immediately grabbed the thermometer and her temp read 104.3!!!!!!!! I grabbed the Motrin and shoved it in her mouth.... how could I have not noticed that she was getting sick and why didn't I check on her when she unusually fell asleep on the sofa "watching" her favorite movie! I rewinded through the day and thought if there were any unusual changes to her and I could think of nothing.... I mean we had been at the Sonic all afternoon and she played and had so much fun (see pics below). After about 1 hour, I checked her temp again and it was still 104.1. For the rest of the evening I continued to ask her if anything hurt and she repeatedly said her "bobo" and would grab her diaper in the front. So, I immediately concluded that she must have a bladder infection. Her fever continued to be above 103 the rest of the night and even the next morning (after alternating between Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours). So, I started calling the pedi office first thing that morning after dropping Miller off at MDO. So, went to see Dr. Nale and he agreed that we should do a urine test... and a strep test (he said her throat was really red). Unfortunately, the only way to get a urine test from a 2½ year old who is in the process of potty-training is a catheter.... ugh! So after a negative urine test and a negative strep test..... we left the pedi's office with the conclusion that her body must have been fighting off something viral with that high of a temperature and to let her rest and drink fluids. The next day the fever was gone and she was back to normal! This little lady must have one tough immune system!!!!

Sonic fun!

We recently went to the Sonic in Forney....(my friend Cory had been telling me what a fun play area they have!) The kids had a blast and we were the only ones there, which made it nice for them to have the whole place to themselves. We have been back since this day and they absolutley love it. (As I sit here and post these pictures, they just looked up at the monitor and said they want to go the big, big slide!)

CHEESE!!!!!!!!

Here is Lainey on the big, big slide! Weeee!

Miller climbing to the top!

Lainey made it to the top!

She even stopped long enough to say cheese!

Goodbye, big, big slide... see you soon! (Don't they look tiny next to this very tall slide?)
