Ocean City NJ

Had an excellent 4 day mini vaca with Jason's side of the family down the shore.

Nina had a blast! Her cousin Ally painted her toe nails for the first time to get beach ready.

We went to the beach daily and Nina liked playing the sand and in the baby pool. By the last day she made her way to the water (she was hesitant until then, and she loved it.
She told her Grandma, "I like it".

We went to the boardwalk and she had her first slice of Mack and Manco pizza. She went on the roller coaster once with me and once with Jason. She loved the rides, she even went on by herself which was a first. (it was a jeep that went in a circle)

Dot's donuts in the mornings and PB&J for lunch on the beach.

It was a fab time and we are hopeful the weather holds up for the rest of the week since our family is still down there.

Par for the course

Took Nina to ER Saturday afternoon for vomiting almost 48 hours. They sent us home after pumping her full of fluids.

Took Nina back to ER Sunday morning for vomiting Sunday morning. They admitted her.

She was dehydrated both times. Blood sugars in the 30's and Ketone galore. She reached the point where even a sip of something made her vomit.

Once admitted, she recovered quickly once they stabilized her sugars.
She was eating and drinking by 2:30pm yesterday. Jason spent the night with her and they were able to d/c the fluids by early morning.

She was discharged late this morning and doing great.

We are reading "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" and HIGHLY recommend.

They closed the book on her!

I had the early intervention team come out this morning to eval Nina.
The team consisted of OT, PT and Speech.

Nina did awesome. She is age appropriate (28 months)

They had her do tasks like the peg board, color grouping, stringing beads, naming objects and actions in word books, drawing a circle and straight line, shape sorting, blowing, cup stacking.
She could do it all!

They want her to work on jumping off surfaces. (oh fun for me) like the bottom step to the carpet. Hello ER???
For speech, they want her to work on ending one syllable consonants.
For OT, there were no recommendations. (yeah Nina!)
