Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect to be Wonderful

It's rare to see a decorative wall hangings with a saying on it that is not cliche. We've all heard the ones like, "Dance like no one's watching" or "Always kiss me goodnight." But I actually saw one yesterday that I really is worth stitching onto a pillow. In Pizza Pie Cafe, there was a sign that said, "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful." Isn't that great? That's a reminder worth being reminded of daily.

Three Months of Silence

I'm ready to emerge from my blog silence now. I blame the lack of internet as the #1 culprit behind my absence. Gary and I have served our time in San Antonio and are just about to come home. That's not to say that it was an unpleasant experience, but we're ready for Utah again.
Things have been a little crazy lately, unlike the rest of the summer which was pretty mellow. We decided to buy a truck a couple weeks ago. We haven't got it yet, but we have it all picked out and we're just waiting for the seller to get in contact with our credit union. It's our first big purchase as a couple. It's my very first loan. Being a grown-up can be pretty scary. Assuming everything goes according to plan, we're getting 2008 Toyota Tacoma. Wahoo!
In conjunction with the truck, we've been trying to sell our current car: the Malibu. We've gotten a few offers lower than we wanted to go but we're flexible. We're kind of on a deadline, so we might have to skimp on the price a little.
Gary's last day of work was yesterday. Hallelujah! I could not be happier for him. He has worked so hard this summer, putting in 75-hour weeks and working 6 days a week. He deserves to be done. My last day of work was today. I'm actually a little sad to go. The jewelry store I worked at was so good to me. They even threw me a little party for my last day, complete with a cake and gifts. I love the Hernandez family!
Our days here in San Antonio are numbered...3. Come Sunday, we're outta here. So get ready, Utah. Hip, hip, hooray!

Married and Texan

I'm married now!  I have the most wonderful husband ever. We had a blast on our honeymoon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and now we're in San Antonio for the summer. I wish I had pictures to post from the wedding or from the honeymoon, but we're still working on getting those.

We don't have internet right now, and we might not be getting it for a while. So blogging will be scarce, but I have a new blog. It's garyandnatpratt.blogspot.com. I think I'm gonna start updating that one more regularly.

I love you all and I'll try to keep you updated!

Lovey

On Monday I came home from work then headed straight to Gary's apartment. He had dinner ready for me and then surprised me with a cactus. I don't have a picture yet, but it's a small cactus, about 4 inches tall. The top half is bright pink. This was the cutest, most thoughtful gift. Gary loves plants and he knows I don't have a good track record of keeping plants alive. So he gave me a cactus. We named her Lovey the Lovely Love Cactus. She sits on my shelf and brightens up my room.

I love Gary!

The Renaissance.

I'm taking a Comedy and Satire class right now. I'm learning how to poke fun at myself. If you know me, you'll get a kick out of this.

Hooray for Alaina Chatterley!  She did such a great job and we're so grateful for her talents. Go look at her blog.
I'm really pleased with how they turned out. Let me know what you think.
