Scrappin' Sillhouette Challenge 6

I am really loving using the Scrappin' Silhouettes (SS) sketch each week to create a new layout. The plan is there, the foundation and I just need to build on it with my own materials (of which I have plenty!)

This week at SS it's week 5 in July so it's 5 photo's and it is a double page...

I used several photographs of the Boy taken throughout the football season this year playing for 'the Saints'. He often plays in goal and we managed to get some great pics of him in action, these formed the first 3 photo page. On the opposite page I used 2 snaps of the team from 2 different days one DS was in goal and the other he was on the pitch, I think we have everyone who plays on the team and they are a great bunch (they can get feisty but then so can us parents on the sidelines!!)

I'm not sure of the manufacturer of the papers but I did use a couple of metal embellishments from Making Memories ( I think they were a Hobbycraft bargain!) and the large chipboard letters are K & Co. These were one of the first things I bought to scrapbook with and like so much of my stash remained unused (until now of course!).
I was slightly too late adding my pic (totally my fault!) so my pages are not on the site with the DT's but there are some fab LO's to look at there so please go visit this weeks Scrappin' Silhouette Challenge! Also there are a few more of my fellow DT members introduced... I am so lucky to be surrounded by such talent and really hope some of it rubs off on me!!

Scrappin' Silhouettes Challenge 5

Today I am introduced as part of the Design Team over on Scrappin' Silhouettes. I feel extremely blessed to be on the team with so many fabulous scrappers and I am definitely the baby when it comes to experience. Please go over to Scrappin Silhouettes to see this weeks pages as created by Amanda, Molly, Stephanie and me!

This weeks sketch uses 4 photographs, which made it more challenging for me as I generally only use 1 or 2 but I really loved putting this page together.

I used photographs of the children taken earlier this month, on the beach in Sussex and it felt so 'summery' to me, though I did not use typical beach tones but went with red and blue as my key colours. I loved the Sassafrass patterned paper that is used across the middle and also as the scalloped edging and I was in stash busting mode as I used up some embellishments that have sat unopened for too long! I was pleased with the final result, called 'Spades in the Sand' and hope that you will use this great sketch to create a page of your own to share with us over at Scrappin' Silhouettes

I seriously need to take better photographs of my big old Layouts so if you have any tips on how to make them look better/more professional I am all totally open to suggestions!

I would also like to enter this LO into the 'Holiday' challenge over at Creative Craft world.

Scrappin' Silhouettes Challenge 4

I spent part of today creating a new Layout for the fabulous Scrappin' Silhouettes challenge this week it involved 3 photos in this wonderful sketch

I started off with 3 rectangular photographs then added a round one but it looked too crowded so I dropped one of the rectangles and ended up with this page....

All the photographs were printed at 6 x 4 but I altered the size/shape of them all in the end. The title 'the O2' is also cut from a photograph that I took. I used acetate to form a circle over the circular picture and also as the 'ring' around the square photo. Generally I am not a big fan of black but it worked really well with the images and with evoking the sense of being in the darkened arena looking out at the acts.... in case you are wondering this was from the X factor tour in March... I got 4 tickets for Christmas and yes I am that sad!

Due to my slowness at completing this LO, I am too late to enter it into the challenge but please check back tomorrow as my first layout for the Scrappin' Silhouettes design team will be posted, I hope I don't let them down!

Scrapping with I Did It Creations challenge 3 Fantasy

Today is Tuesday and that means a new challenge over at Scrappin with I Did It Creations. This week is the 3rd challenge and is entitled 'Fantasy'.

This weeks prize is sponsored by the Crafty Purple Frog and the DT got to have a play with a couple of her Fantasy designs. They are really easy to use, just print, cut and make up your pyramage or decoupage...simple!
Initially I found the theme a little difficult this week so I took inspiration from the Fantasy drawing on the decoupage I made, which features a purple cat. It made me imangine the world with purple pets and I used an image of my mum's beautiful cat 'Kitty' and turned him purple!

What do you think??? Definitely out of my comfort zone but great fun to make!

Please visit the challenge at Scrapping with I did it Creations and join in the challenge to win the fab prize (I have spotted a pig image on the Crafty Purple Frog site which is gorgeous.... you know me and my love of pigs!). The other members of the design team have come up with some fabulous ideas to give you inspiration, go on over nad check it out!

Scrappin' Silhouettes

As you may have noticed from my sidebar I have made it onto the design team over at the fantastic Scrappin' Silhouettes. This new challenge blog has been created by the wonderful Jennipher and being a huge fan of working with sketches I was thrilled to discover her inspirational site.

Every Thursday there is a new sketch to follow and the first Thursday of the month uses 1 photo, the 2nd Thursday 2 photos, the 3rd Thursday 3 photos and so on. I will be featured at the end of the month, which will be a challenge for me as I rarely use more than 2 pics in any lay out so I am really looking forward to trying it out on a regular basis!
Challenge number 3 features a double photo LO and I really loved the sketch and had to give it a go. Please go over to Scrappin' Silhouettes and have a look, even better take part as there is a fabulous RAK on offer for the month of July... the more times you enter the challenges the more chance you will have of winning!! This is the sketch...

This is my version of the sketch featuring DD and DS on holiday in Egypt so I have kept the colours and style very similar to the last LO I did featuring DD and I in Egypt a couple of posts ago.
I took this photo outside this afternnon and it's so sunny that the colours have not actually come out very well! I am not going to complain about the sunshine as I believe we are due for rain tomorrow in this part of the UK, at least I will be at work!

Scrapping with I Did It Creations

I am pleased to let you know that I have been invited to join the DT team for Scrapping with I Did It Creations !! I am very excited and so lucky to be part of the team, there are links to the 4 fabulous and talented ladies in my side bar who I am lucky enough to be creating with.

Over on Scrapping with I Did It Creations there is a new challenge, and it is a sketch challenge (one of my favs... I love working with sketches!).

The DTwere lucky enough to be given the gorgeous Oriental Beauty Papers to work with. These are available online and there is a fab 30% off sale at the moment so they are only $1.40! Pop over to the store and have a look at all the fab digi goodies that are available.

I printed the papers on heavy weight linen white paper to give a little more texture and used them to matt the photo, make a tag (embossed using my cuttlebug), form the patterned background and as an accent/border along the right side. They coordinate perfectly with the photo of DD and one of her best friends waiting for the St Georges Day parade to start, in their Scout uniforms.

Please go over to Scrapping with I Did It Creations and join in as we are sponsored by Dezinaworld and the winner of the challenge will get £5 to spend online in their store.

Good luck everyone xxx
