Before and After

I am so excited for this post! When we moved to Omaha, we had exactly 9 days to get moved in to our house before Nixon made his arrival. Decorating Nixon's room wasn't at the top of the priority list, even though I tried to do as much as I could before we got out here. Over the course of his life (haha that sounds funny), I have been working on it little by little. Until now, he hasn't even had a dresser!
We got the dresser above for FREE on craigslist. I knew it had potential...
I sanded it down a bit because the previous paint job was pretty bad. Then I primed and painted it white, taped the pattern on with tape, and painted the green design. I also painted the knobs silver and put a top protective coat over them, so hopefully they don't chip.
We added the legs, and those are actually pretty pricey.. but my sister had some extra's from some furniture at her store in Pocatello, and I brought them back with us from Idaho on the airplane when we were there last summer (not having a clue what I was going to do with them). Chase thought I was nuts haha. And now look how fabulous they look on Nixon's cute little dresser!
I thought I would show you the rest of his room while I'm at it!

This was my mom's favorite book when she was little! I love that it matches his room, and that it is an old copy of the book, it has so much cute character!

Crazy Weather

We have had a very mild winter in Omaha, which has surprised us because we had heard so much about how horrible the winters are here. It was in the 60s a couple weeks ago, so we took advantage and went on lots of walks and were outside as much as possible. I snapped these adorable pictures of our little guy.

Then we took THESE pictures 2 days later! No joke. It snowed 12 inches over night! We were snowed in for the weekend, (which was actually pretty fun) and Nixon got to feel snow for the first time.

Sprained

Chase sprained his ankle HORRIBLY playing basketball a couple of weeks ago, and is STILL limping around. It was super swollen, and turned every color in the rainbow.
The sad part is, he said the game wasn't even very good. They were 20 points ahead!
