Yard Sale Finds, Bows, and Projects

There weren't too many yard sales this weekend, but I did find some shoes that I fell in love with and were only $2. I thought they were a very reasonable price so I didn't talk them down on the price :) I also found this cute wallet for $0.25 and a hot pink striped, stretchy top that is ADORABLE under a white cardigan (I already wore it to dinner with the whole APX office and their wives to dinner :)

Here is a pile of bows I worked on this week

And some baby wipe clutches! I thought I would try to sell these with my bows and see how they do. They are easy and fun to make!

I had some left over material so I made some burp cloths to match them. They have chenille fabric on the back so they are super soft!

Here is a picture of the matching set! What a fun baby gift!

Be ready to be AMAZED! Look at these cute onesies! Are you amazed?
I thought they would be a cute addition to sell with my bows! I made them with puffy fabric paint, gems, and a fabric flower.
I used the ends of pins, pens, and paint brushes to make the round dots.

Add some gems with fabric glue and a fabric flower with a safety pin and I'm done!

Yard Sale find and awesome makeover!

Here is Janae, Melanie and I during some fun yard saling.. All smiles
Do you like these new canisters? Wait until you see what they were before!

Yep thats right! I thought about leaving them this way, since I thought the roosters were so cute.. okay totally kidding. But I did see some major potential in these bad boys today when I saw them. They were for sale for $10, but they had been marked down to $4 for the whole set. I offered the lady $2 and..... you guessed it! Score!

Don't you LOVE the detailed roosters? jk
Okay... got all my supplies ready
First, a nice coat of primer
Next comes the black spray paint
Here are the canisters and lids all painted up ready for the EXCITING part!
I measured how far I wanted the paper to go up on the canisters, cut the scrapbook paper, mod podged on, and added a coat of mod podge over the top! What do you think? I am in LOVE :)

Petit Jean Hike

These are turtle rocks! They look like turtles' backs!

Cool caves

There are these beautiful flower trees all over Arkansas and I finally got a picture with one!

Look at that stud!

Gorgeous!

The EASY part of the hike (as you notice, I actually have my camera out during this part)

Finally made it! A mile in, and a mile out is quite a bit when you are hiking :)

This is Ciara! She is the girl I go yard saling with, work out with, and do crafts with! I am so glad she is out here and we have become such great friends. I am so excited to have more adventures with her even when we get back to Idaho and Utah!

Goodbye 9X13

So here is a scary/funny story.... Janessa was finishing up some last minute food preparations to a wonderful dinner, when a sweet Chase walked in and asked if he could help. She said, "Sure, Chase, you are always so wonderful to me. Would you mind warming up some frozen peas on the stove?" Janessa had just taken out some delicious, baked chicken on a 9X13 and had placed it on the stove top. Chase proceeded to turn on the stove and place the peas/pan on the stove (unknown to him, he had turned on the wrong burner which was directly under the 9X13). As the happy couple began to discuss their days, the pan suddenly exploded (the sound like a gun shot), into little shards of glass, all over the floor! Fortunately the two were okay, and no one was cut with the glass, but I'm afraid that was the end of the 9X13 and the baked chicken.

Bows and Yard Sale Finds

I was asked to make some hair things for a friends' wedding and came up with these cuties! They can be worn in the hair, or pinned on a jacket or shirt!

And how about this matching headband?

I have been wanting a pair of these boots to wear in the winter for SO long! I am sick of wearing strappy shoes in the winter. So I HAD to snatch up these little Nine West beauties for $2!

This is a CRAZY find! The lady originally wanted to sell this Dolce and Gabbana purse for $15 which is crazy! But I asked the husband how much for it, and he said $5. I made a big stink about how the zipper was broken, (which it was, but I didn't care because I could latch it shut with the latch on the front) He said, "Okay, how about a $1?" I said, "Will you take $0.50?" He said, "Sure, but don't tell my wife." So I got a Dolce and Gabbana purse for $0.50! I'm really not in to brands, but how fun is it to have one of these purses for pocket change? The white leather was a little grungy, so I took a magic eraser to it, and it looks brand new!

Like my dollar finds? The hat is Abercrombie and the shirt American Eagle. And how cute are they together? Imagine with silver hoop earrings and curled hair in the winter.... :)

Check out these TRUNKS! I about DIED when I saw them at a yard sale! The lady wanted $5 a piece for them (She bought them at an antique store for $50 a piece). I am so excited to find a place on a high shelf for them or maybe even find a couple more and make an end table out of them!
