Let's continue and sorry to end my post suddenly.

Anyway, we went to walmart and then did some after christmas shopping. I bought a pair of jeans and a fleece for my lil sis. I wanted to buy a pair of shoe, but since I still have 2 sports shoes at home, i decided to buy it next time. Tomtom said that we would be going to OKC later, but it's drizzling now. I hope it would stop raining. It's dangerous to drive in the rain, especially for beginners!!!

What's else about 2006??? Oh,
- I worked for the first time in my life, earning money from my own hard work!!!
- I learnt alot from being a housekeeper. Not all that glitter is gold. A hotel that looked nice in the outside, many not be a hotel with the best cleaniness :P And I was able to have the first hand account of the people of working class, how they behave and stuffs.
- I learnt how to cook lots of things :D
- I have great professors at OSU

IN all I was very thankful of all the things that God has given me this year. I hope 2007 would be as great.

I haven't thought of a new year resolution. But i think there's a couple of things that I would definitely include:
- join a couple of organizations to boost up my resume and make more friends.
- shed some weight 'cause I would definitely gain lots of weight when I go back to indo and s'pore in the summer.

Liverpool won!! After a loss against Blackburn, it's time to win again!!! Garcia scored before stoppage time. Win marginally, but it's a win. An away win!!! Couldn't watch. Not enough peer to connect to the channel :(

I didn't do much today besides catching up with some sleep. I woke up at 8am to watch liverpool only to realize that the match started at 9am, so watch a little of the aston villa match, then sleep a while till 9am and then couldn't connect to the channel :(

Then, I looked through the letters that my friends gave to me before I left for US. It brought back memories and tears. But I didn't cry as much. I think this shows how much stronger I have grown emotionally. I really miss you guys!!!!!!!! Oh, Monica, where's the letter (with lots of stamps on it) that u promised to send to me??? Haha...

It's going to be 2007 soon. Without a doubt, I would be spending the first day of 2007 at home! Anyway, lets talk about 2006. It was a life changing year. I officially graduated from high school, went to TJC for 2 months, and then went to US. I got to taste of independence, a taste of what it was like to be away from home, from my family and friends, and a taste of what it was like to be staying in Uncle Sam's country!!!

Ok, my stupid twin cousins were now downstairs to fetch us to go walmart. They said that they won't be coming!!! Continue with my evalutation later. Ciao!

Liverpool lost!!! I hate it when Rafa said that "we should have won". Liverpool didn't win period! I know it's just an encouragement, a way not to blame your team. But if you said this almost everytime u lost a game, it's irritating!!!

I had my History exam today. And i'm done!!! My right hand was aching from all the writing. I had to write 2 essays!!! I didn't sleep till 1am last night. I survived with 6 hours of sleep and luckily, i managed to remember almost everything I "squeezed" into my brain last night. I hope I did well. I would be extremely disappointed if I didn't get an A!!! Then, went to Tomtom's home. This was the first time I went there since I moved. Sung took his driving test while I waited at Tomtom's home. The four of us actually wanted to go shopping after sung's test. But didn't do so. I watched Death Note and wanted to watch it till the end. Besides, sung and thomas got a headache from the lack of sleep the previous night. haha.. The After Christmas Sale was on. I wanted to buy some outerwear, and my mum wanted me to help her buy a coat. Well, Death Note's quite interesting. I couldn't believe that Light killed his gf!!! He's a real devil!!! Ok, so Sung passed his test. This means that he would have a car soon and weekends would be more fun!!! Yeah!!!

Dr. Logan, my history teacher, was funny today. He said matter-of-factly that we would forget all that we have learnt as soon as we leave the room, but he didn't mind. At least he's successful to instil in us chronological things ( forgot the word he used). Like at least we know that the Civil War did not happen in the 1990s. It happened way back. Haha...
What did I learnt from this History lesson?
- The Civil War was btw the North and South, and was largely caused by slavery issues.
- Pearl Harbor was a bad history movie ( according to my teacher). He was disagreed with how FDR was depicted and how the nurse seemed to be everywhere. She was either an army nurse or a navy nurse, she couldn't be both!
- The story "Wizard of the Oz" was about populism. Dorothy was from Kansas- a populist state.
- Cheerleaders were used to distract the oppossing football team, and to cheer the team. This was modelled after the warrior theory (forgot the correct term). The warriors would always have women behind them.
- US can be considered an empire and it has colonies, such as puerto rico. However, they were not called colonies, but "protectorates".

there're many more things that I learnt. History may be boring, but it helped to make sense of things that people do or create today!

Night at the museum was funny. But too much graphical things which made it very unreal. But it's funny! My first trip to the cinema here. The cinema was very small. And it's free sitting. I didn't know this at first. And i was wondering where's the no. for the seats as I looked at my ticket. That's so stupid of me!

I'm so full now. Went to eat buffet after the movie. Well, there's not much option. Almost every shops and restaurant closed!!! And Stillwater is like a dead city! It's so quiet it's creepy! There wasn't much decorations, it didn't feel like christmas at all!!! U know Orchard felt more like "America" than Stillwater. I think when people think of America, the America they had in mind was New York or LA. What u saw in most movies and american tv shows are always set in these two places. So that's the America that we, asians or non-american, are exposed too. I watched a food show, one of Rachel Rays' show. I think she's in Philadelphia, and was about to take a train. The conductor asked where she's from, and she said "New York". Then, the conductor told her, "Welcome to America!". Rachel Rays just laughed out loud at this. But this shows that the America that we are exposed to or thought are America, it not really America. In fact, in small cities and states like Stillwater, oklahoma and Philadelphia, u can see the real america (don't ask what's the real america is. I don't really know. This is just purely my thought). But what I'm trying to say is America is a big country and it's not as glamous as we thought it is. That's my point. If u don't get it, then forget what I have just said.

Halfway thru History lesson! 4 more days of that and it's all over!!!

Wish all of you MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Liverpool won again :D!!! I couldn't wake up to watch them play :( I woke up at 7.30am to go to the toilet and was so sleepy that I went back to sleep. If only I woke up at 8.30, then I would watch. Anyway, they won and that's the most important thing!!!

Jing Hean was going to watch ManU played on Boxing Day! I was so jealous of him!!! He could watch his favorite team play live!!! It would be some time before it's my turn! For now, I would just wait patiently for my bank accout to grow!

A few minutes ago, I decided to buy myself a chrismas present(or b'day present since I migh received it end of Jan or early feb!) . I decided to buy myself Steven Gerrard's autobiography. There's no need for santa to drop it in my "chimney"!

I'm going to watch movie with my cousins tmr! Watching a night in museum! At least I dont' have to rot at home for Christmas!!! I wanted to buy a small christmas tree and decorate it, but what's the point when there won't be anyone coming. And I don't want to hold another party. So troublesome!!!

Well, that's all. Want to cook dinner! Oh, I tried to cook porridge last night and it turned out to be quite delicious. I don't really like porridge as it always tastes bland, but for some reason, I craved for porridge and decided to cook it. I put lot's of soy sause and seasoning, and it turned out to be quite nice :D But I didn't put enough water at first and had to keep adding water so that the rice would turn soft. haha... At least I would know what to do next time!

Sorry, I haven't been blogging for a while. My post exam activity was watching ou xiang ju and han ju! :P I was bored and didn't know what to do. Besides, I missed watching chinese show, so I decided to go to youtube and searched for some ou xiang ju. I watched a total of 3 shows. I watched The Magician of Love (ai qing mo fa shi- boring show), Rock Paper Scissors ( jian dao shi tou bu -- I like the theme song) and K-drama- My lovely Sam soon (very funny). So that's what keeping me busy!

Started my History lesson on Monday. So tiring!!! Lots of stuffs to memorise! But the lessons weren't as boring as I thought. The teacher was great, well, at least he doesn't have monotonous voice! And it's rather interesting to learn about the american revolution( I will talk more about this later, when I know my facts better). And having a teacher who can crack jokes now and then helped too!

I just hope I could memorize as much as I could and regurgitate everything for this Friday exam! The good thing about winter intersession is that you don't have to suffer for a long time, only two weeks, and there aren't much homework. And the bad things are there's so much to cover in such a short period of time, u had to have lesson for 4 hours everyday, with a total of 15min breaks in between, and u have exams at the end of every week. Since it's history, I don't mind. I hate history :( Bad experience from sec. sch.

Let's talk about Liverpool now. LFC vs Arsenal match was cancelled today due to heavy fog. Benitez and Wenger complained that the match should not be cancelled, but just look at the fog!

I understand why both managers wanted the match to be played, but they should think of the players and supporters. It would be difficult for the players to locate their teammates and the ball and it would be extremely difficult for the spectators to watch the game, and wasting their money! Anyway, Liverpool defeated boston 3-0, and Gerrard scored again :D

But their Champions League hope seemed bleak now! Of all team, they had to meet Barcelona! I would rather they meet REal Madrid than Barca! Barca is like the best team in the world! They're my fav. spanish team, but of course they're only second to liverpool for me. But I'm not stupid and I don't want to deny the truth- Barcelona are a way better team than Liverpool. They're in a whole different level! All I could do now was to hope for a miracle, like the Istanbul Miracle. But I know better. All the best Liverpool!

Finals are over!!!

Two days of exams. That's all!!! I'm really enjoying my first freshman semester :D These were the most relaxing final exams I had ever taken in my live!!! Honest! I didn't have to study for English. I just have to write essay and better still, I know what's the question was. I even did a draft a. So, all i need to do was to edit the draft a a little to make it better and that's my essay!! Geology. I think it's the most "stressful" one. Had to memorized whole chunk of notes. Then, today, I had sociology and elementary cal. I didn't even need to take the Sociology exam cause I had already gotten an A. The beauty of american education system-- extra credit! But I still took it though. I just feel strange not to sit for the exam and it's kind of disrespectful too. I mean, Ms Hough set the paper and printed the paper alr.,and she's such a great teacher. So the least I could do was to sit for the final exam and showed her that I learnt a lot from her lesson. For Maths... let's just say that i'm confident I will do well :D

Oh, James and Taylor won the Amazing Race. Rob and Kim nearly won. Anyway, they went to Paris, the Eiffel Tower. The clue box was at the third floor of the Eiffel Tower. I'd been there. I realized that even though I felt like nothing great when I went up to the Eiffel Tower (as I mentioned in my last last...post), the effect of such "great moment" will only be felt much later. When I saw the places I been, the buildings or structures I had climbed, and the rivers I cruised before on tv or newspaper, I felt this warm and nostalgic feelings. The times I spent with my family on the holidays. It's so great!

Just watched Chealsea vs Arsenal match. It's a draw 1-1. Chealsea could have stolen all 3 points but I guess they're unlucky. Essien and Drogba hit the post, Drogba, Lampard kicked the ball wide. Well, it's not meant for Chelsea to win!!! The last few minutes of the match was so exciting. Chelsea attacked most of the time. I didn't want chelsea to win, but I also didn't want Arsenal to win as if arsenal win, they will threatened Liverpool's position in the league table. So, draw is the best, I think. I hope! But overall, it's a good match, very physical and competitive I would say. Lots of fouls. Ashley Cole was on the hot seat having to play his former club, but arsenal didn't specifically target him or anyting. That's good.

I'm looking forward for the finale of the Amazing Race. I don't really have any favorite. I just don't want Rob and Kim to win! Well, see tonight!

The semester is nearly ended. Two days of exams and that's it! End of Fall semester. I really enjoyed my lessons. The professor and teaching asisstants are the greatest! I hope I would be blessed with the same teachers again next semester.

I learnt a lot in Sociology. Firstly, I would like to thank my teacher, Ms. Hough. She's great! And I really admire her. She's been through a lot in life, especially as a mother. She has 3 sons and on of them, her youngest son was disabled. I can't remember what his illness, but i know it takes a lot of courage, determination and patience to raise a disabled child. Moreover, she has to juggle school and this!

Secondly, I learnt a lot about the society that we live in, human behaviors and subsequently, I learnt a lot about myself- why I behave certain way,etc... On Wednesday, we discussed culture. She asked about the significant of white wedding dress. In the past, white symbolises purity--- virginity. Hence, if you're marrying for the second time, you could not wear white. But now, white doesn't necessarily mean virginity. Brides wear white wedding dress cause it's the tradition. We follow traditions, but this does not necessarily mean that we know what the traditions mean.

She showed us a catalogue from Walmart. It's advertising some kid's toy and in the advertisement, we could see that a boy was playing with a kitchen set, while a girl was riding a big motorcycle(not sure what it's called). This shows how the society is changing. Girls no longer have to play with dolls and boys can play with dolls if they want. Then, she gave an incidence when one of her professor encountered a father who was ashamed of his young son and his son kept saying that he likes Dora (she's a cartoon character Pandora's box or something). Although changing, we still have the mindset that boys who likes Dora or some girl's stuffs are girly. The prof. approached the father and told the father that his grandson also likes Dora and he taught him to say, "Dora's hot!" I thought it was funny. But Ms Hough pointed out that we always think of women as sex symbol. Why couldn't the boy likes Dora because she's smart? Good point!

We were to read about an article about the Nacirema tribe. I realised that there's no such tribe! if you read it backward, u will get American. So, the article was actually about the Americans in other people's perspective. Like how they value body so much- plastic surgery...

"Every household has one or meor shrines...The focal point of hte shrine is a box or chest wihich is built into the wll. In this chest are kept the many charms and magical potions without which no native believs he could live" ---- This "shrines" refer to the medicine cabinets. When people are sick, they always go to the medicine cabinet!

"...belive that a strong relationship exists between oral and moral characteristics... the ritual consists of inserting a small bundle of hog hairs into the mouth, along wiht certain magical powders, and then moving the bundle in a highly formalized series of gestures."--- talks about going to the dentist and how we mend the cavities in the teeth.

"...The medicine men have an imposing temple, or latipso, in every community of any size...No matter how ill the supplicant or how grave teh emergency, the guardians of many temples will not admit a cilent if he cannot give a rich gift to the custodian."--- symbolizes the hospital and how some hospital will not admit patients who cannot afford their medical bills.

I can't believe I missed this out. I mean the writer wrote the rituals of the "Nacirema" in a really barbaric way. He made the people sound masochistic. Unknowingly, this is what we put ourselves through. I don't think it's just the Americans. If fact, it's everyone in the world (well, many are Americanized anyway!). The dentist part, I could figure the similarity, but I just though that this tribe really exists and their rituals are more or less similar to ours! But it's realy interesting to look at the things that we do in another point of view!
LIverpool trashed Fulham 4-0!!! I watched the second-half only cause I couldn't wake up at 8am to catch the start of the match :P But it didn't matter, the goals were all scored in the 2nd half!!! For the first five minutes or so, Fulham ran the Liverpool defense amok! Kuyt missed strings of chances and then there's a handball by a Fulham player whom I didn't know (and he received a yellow card). Penalty for Liverpool! And... Gerrard took it!!! Gerrard!!! Y not Alonso!!! Oh, I didn't believe that Gerrard would scored that penalty! I'm his fan, that's y I know he isn't a good penalty taker! As I expected, he missed the penalty (the keeper blocked it), but thankfully, he scored on the rebound. Yeah!!! Since then, Fulham was rather subdued and Liverpool attacked with more ferocity. Gerrard nearly scored again, but the keeper blocked it :( Throw in for Liverpool and Carra scored!!! His first premiership goal since 1999!!! He totally deserved that goal. I was so happy for him! Garcia headed ther third goal for LIverpool. It was a nice and well-placed goal to the top right hand corner of the goal post, beyond the fully stretched Fulhan keeper. Liverpool continued to attack and defended well. Goals boosted your confidence!!! In the injury time, Mark Gonzalez scored from a free kick. It's a nice goal too. But I still prefer Garcia's :P

I'm so happy I could watch Liverpool in action again!

Back to studying again now.

I totally forgot to watch Liverpool yesterday!!! Oh, I'm so ashamed of myself! I was so pissed with the spoil heater. I was left freezing inside the house!!! Then, at the time when I was supposed to watch liverpool match, I went to do my laundry. Haven't had time to wash them for 3 weeks!!! After that, went to meet my Geology TA to get my assignments. So, Liverpool was totally forgotten, until I reached home and on my laptop. By then, the match was already over and liverpool lost :( But they still qualified!!!

I decided to work on Sunday. Since the weather was nice, and it was my last day, I decided to go. And it turned out that there're more than 16 rooms and only me, Sung and Yoshi worked!!! So, I don't think Tommy would let me off! WE took our time cleaning 8 rooms. I think we took around 5 and the half hour. We went to Subway to take a break. Coincidentally, we ate Subway the first time we took a break together and our last meal was Subway too!!! I am not back to being full time student!!!

On Monday, during Sociology lesson, we've got company. A tiny company with long tail. Yes, there's a mouse in the classroom. It's very small and rather cute! But I was still scared when it came near me. The other time, there's this huge cockroach during Maths lecture, now a mouse! What's next? a squirrel?

Monday night, JJ, Glorick, Sung and I went to play badminton, but there's lots of people playing basketball, so we couldn't play. The place used for badminton court is also basketball court. So, we decided to play table tennis instead. I had never played table tennis before. Glorick taught me the basic- how to hold the handle and serve the ball. After mastering those, I think I did rather well on my first training! I just need more practices to sharpen my skill! Table tennis is rather fun! Then, while JJ went for a drink, Glorick played with Sung and I was left watching them playing. There's this rather fat American guy asked me to play with him. I declined at first. I didn't want to embarresed myself, ok? But I played a while, like 4o sec and then I saw JJ. I asked JJ to play with that guy instead. They ended up playing 5 sets of matches. The American guy kept kicking the wall when he made mistakes. POor wall! We played for 2 hours and then went home.

Had to work today. It was sooo foggy in the morning. I didnt' want to go to work, but if we didn't go, there would be a shortage of housekeepers. So, we went and there was snow everywhere on the walkway. The snow was ok, but some has turned into ice and that's the problem. It was so slippery!!! I nearly fell thrice and in the carpark, I really fell down. My left buttock was so painful and I think the fall hurt my tailbone. My back hurt now!!! I will see if I want to work tmr. May be. It will be my last day, but I don't want to walk on all those snow and ice!!!

Then, I took some more photos of the campus covered in snow. It was a pretty sight actually :)

When we reached home, Sung and I made snowman!!! This time, it turned out in a pretty nice shape. Not very big, but don't u think my Mr. Snowman is adorable??? He even had eyebrows. I used the seeds of some fruits to make the eyes and nose. I should have brought a hat, but he's still cute, right?

To my family and friends in S'pore and Indo,
I really wish my family were here with me to share this snowy day. I'm sure they would like it. The last time we were in Austria, we didn't really have time to enjoy the snow covered scenery. And I also wish my friends were here. Then, we could play snow together!!!

It was a sunny day today. A perfect day to build snowman and have a snowball fight. School was closed and lesson canceled again! I guess my wish came true. But again, not many people were seen outside. I really miss my family. If they were here, my bro, sis and I will be outside playing with the snow in no time!!! The three of us will build snowman, throw snow at one another and our parents would be watching us, taking photos of us!

Well, I did tried to build snowman, but it was difficult. I couldn't get the ball into shape!!! So, I gave up. May be i will try again tmr on my way to work provided the snow doesn't turn into ice (yeah, i have to work tmr :( my last 2 days!) Then, I made an "angel". Lying down on the snow and move your legs and arms up and down and ta da an angel! Sung and I had a mini snowball fight too, but I would be so much more fun to have more people! Then, Tomtom and Kokogi fetched us to the Walmart.

Yeah, that's all. Here's some of the photos. Enjoy!

More photos will be uploaded on my Kodak album :)

There's snow storm from noon till now. I hope it continues till tomorrow late morning at least. Then, school should be cancelled again :D I know i'm bad. Haha... But i'll be having my Geology Exam 3 and I don't want!!! I wanted to build snowman and have a snow fight with my neighbour, but everyone seemed to be reluctant to go out. I don't blame them, when I see the snow storm outside, I would rather snuggle in my bed! Check out these photos!

In the morning
By evening
Morning

Evening

I seriously pity those car owners. They would have to scrape off those eyes on the windshields before they can go out!
I woke up and quickly looked out to my window. A pristine whiteness of the snow greeted me. I quickly get up put on my jacket, took my camera and went out. The howling of the wind could be heard as I opened the door and the strong wind pushed me back for a while before I forced my way out. Snow was blown everywhere and it pelted my face, still, I snapped some photos before the coldness forced me to seek for the warmth of my heated apartment. Downstairs, I could hear the little boy talking excitedly. He was fully clothes and was walking in/on the snow. Behind him was his proud father holding a camrecorder. I wondered if it's his first time seeing snow.

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

I was sooooooooo cold today! Yesterday was rather hot. I was wearing my summer clothes- t-shirt and jeans- yesterday. But the weather is always sunny, spring or summer like, every Tuesday. That's what I observed. Some people were talking of the possibility of snow tmr. WoW!!! That will be so cool!!! Not that I haven't seen snow or snow fall before. I've seen it in Austria last year. But this time, I am not a tourist. I'm a resident. There will be a great difference.

During our english lesson, we had this stimulation about bribery. An international student bribed a police to solve the problems. It's allowed in her country. We were having a mini trial. It was hilarious. We didn't really know what to do. Ivan (he's from Ukraine, sasha's best friend. Oh, and sasha was not the real name. His real name is Oleksander) was a witness and his story was totally different from the instructions given. And he was accused of lying in court! When the lawyers were cross-examining the witness, Ms. Lilly was wondering how come nobody object. Thereafter, there's lots of objections. Some were baseless objections. And if the judge didn't say "sustain or overruled" quick enough, the lawyers from two opposing teams will argue. Haha... I was the prosecution lawyer, by the way. I should be the jury. They don't have to do anything. Just sit there and stone! Then, one of the witness, Adlet, the anthropologist, stood up. He said that he's the defence lawyer and wanted to examine the witness. He kept saying that he's the defendant's lawyer, and everybody was like, "no, u're the anthropologist. You're one of the witness!" Haha... Joseph fined him $10 for causing disruption in the court. It's so funny! Joseph was the judge and he had to wear a costume which look like the clothes that graduating students wear. I will try to take some photos on Friday!

Two more weeks and a semester is gone! And I will be here for half a year!!! Time flies!

And Liverpool drew 0-0! They had so many wasted chances!!! Oh, Arsenal lost to Fulham!!!

oh ya, I have a Frienster account!!! Haha... I know it's old stuff. But I'm always behind trends anyway. I just realised that almost everyone I know have friendster account, even my little sis!!! Not many americans have frienster. They use Facebook. It's like Friendster, but Sung said that Friendster is so much better. *shrug* In case u're wondering, nope, I haven't set up a Facebook account. May be later. One at a time!

Christmas is coming!!! I really wish Santa Clause exist! Because, I've got a Christmas List for him!!!

My Christmas Wish List:

-Steven Gerrard's autobiography.
- Rain jacket (I don't really know if it's the correct term. It's a jacket, but made of polyester or some waterproof material. I have one, but I want one or two more!!!)
- Slingbag
-New schoolbag
-Car (or friends who own cars and who are willing to gimme a lift. I don't think my cousins will be buying car anytime soon :( )
- Trip to Utah National Park or Grand Canyon. I want to see ROCKS!!! (Dr. Cruse, my geology prof. will be excited too! Haha...). My desire to see this natural beauty intensifes after the lecture on rocks. Dr Cruse showed us so many beautiful pictures of them!!!

Speaking of trips. I have visited the Colosseum in Rome, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Great Wall of China in Beijing. But when I actually there to see these wonders of the world, I felt rather ... I don't know how to put it, but the feeling was rather mild. I wasn't that excited as I would expect myself to be. I mean, I'm in Paris, I'm on the Eiffel Tower .... When I was actually there, my reaction was, "oh, this is the Colosseum..." That's all! The anticipation, the desire was so much stronger before you actually get to see them. After that, it's kinna so-so. Hey, may be this is why you see so many divorce cases. The process of courtship is so manipulating! When u're dating, u wanted to get married and live happily ever after, but after that it didn't work out as well as expected. Ok, back to trips. I don't know if I would feel the same when I visited Grand Canyon or Anfield. I hope not, especially when I go to Anfield!!! It's the place a liverpool fan should visit!!! A pilgrimage every Liverpool fan should make!
Enrolled for my Spring Semester last night or rather this morning. The moment the clock struck 12am, I quickly enrolled. I can only enrolled today :( Actually, I wanted to enrolled into Religion of Mankind course. There's only 1 place left, but in the end, I still didn't get in :( Wonder who's the person. I'm thinking that the lesson will be interesting and they only have 2 classes! Since there's many people enrolled, I am guessing that it should be quite easy. But have to see if many people drop it. If yes, that means it not that easy. But I really want to learn more about the major religions in the world. It's interesting! People are strongly related to their religion, even the free thinkers!

I took 5 courses- English compo II, Stat., Macro Econ, MSIS( computer stuffs) and Phy ( why do I still have to study Sci!!! But this will be the last sci. lesson I ever attend!). And I will be taking winter class- American History. Intense 2 weeks. 4 hours lesson from Mon to Sat. I hope I can survive this. I just want to get it done and over with. So, I'm willing to sacrifice 2 weeks of my winter break! Besides, I won't be able to go anywhere. No car :( I really have to look for friends who have cars. All my friends have no car, only bicycle. At least they have bicycle. My only mode of transportation is bus 11 (walking)!

Liverpool 1-0 Man City!
Gerrard scored his first premiership goal!!! At least Liverpool win. I was very worried. But couldn't watch. Got to work.

On Sat, Tommy put Sung with Shela, and Yoshi with Camella (I worked with Charlotte :) ). Since the Shela and Camella hadn't come yet, Sung and Yoshi decided to work together, instead! Haha... Tommy and Pauline decided to let them go and let work together. But Pauline kept checking on them. Haha... We told Tommy that we want to quit after this semester. Actually, Yoshi said it. He didn't waste time and told Tommy, " I want to quit after this semester!". I think Tommy was quite taken aback. But he didn't say anything, except asked him when he wanted his last day of work to be. Then he asked us the same thing. I think he knew we wanted to quit. I was so glad he spared us his long-winded lecturing.

And on Sun, they had to work with Camella and Shela again (i worked with Charlotte again :) ), and Tommy warned them not to change. Poor thing! But Shela didn't come. Camella said that she's in the hospital. I doubted it. We finished early at 1.30pm. Then, we were told to help the rest. But we were hungry. Sandie and Charlotte told us to go and eat first. So we did. I think we took about an hour. When we got back, we helped for 15 min cause they're basically done. And before we could go, Tommy confronted us. He asked us where we were. Yoshi said that we went to help, but he didn't believe us. He said that he went looking for us, but we weren't anywhere to be found. He punched out our card (His so evil!!!) and reminded us that we were supposed to punch out when we leave the building. He defended himself by saying that he punched out every time. Nobody told us, and if doubt anyone, except him, did! He commented that this was because should anything happen to us, the hotel would not be responsible for it. That's the "formal reason", but the real reason was that we should not be paid for slacking. Whatever! We should have just gone home! And before we left, he still didn't believe that we went to help. "You sure you helped? If I go and ask the rest, they would be able to say that you help?" I said, "Yeah, ask them if you want!" Two more days! And I won't be seeing him any more! Can't wait for it!!! I feel like writing a letter of complain to the director of the hotel. Telling him/her, how mean his Executive Housekeeper is. It's true. Tommy's position in the hotel is Executive Housekeeper. I didn't know such position exist, but it does!!!

Forgot to mention this.

LIVERPOOL WON!!!

2-0 vs PSV Eindhoven !

At least Liverpool's European displays weren't as disappointing as EPL's ! That's something to cheer for.

Gerrard and Crouch scored!!! Finally, Benitez decided to stick to his (well almost) regular best XI.
But the victory was tampered by injuries to Alonso, Gonzalez and Pennant.

With Sisoko and Alonso injured, I'm very worried about Liverpool's midfield. Now, there's only Gerrard and Zenden left in the central midfield! Oh my! I hope Liverpool will survive! So far the midfield is Liverpool's strongest side, but even if Gerrard's form seems to be returning, I'm still worried. I hope I'm just worried for nothing. All the best Liverpool!
The day before Thanksgiving! The usually crowded and bustling campus was reduced to small clutters and a handful of students. A reminiscence of summer time. Many went home for this four days holidays (some went as early as last Sun or Mon). Classes were only one-quarter or at best one-third full. I started the Eve of Thanksgiving by waking up early. This had nothing to do with Thanksgiving by the way. I lost my Student ID card, so I had to report it to school and make new one. And it cost $17!!! The price I had to pay for my carelessness!!!

Sociology class was cancelled. So, Sung, JJ, Glorick, Asumi and I went to have lunch together. Initially, we wanted to eat burger at the eating place near JJ's dorm, but it was closed early due to Thanksgiving. It's my first time eating together with a group of friends since I came here!

We actually wanted to play badminton tonight. We met at 8pm only to know that the place will be closed at 9pm. And since we had to return the borrowed items back half an hour before closing time, we decided to play another time :( Things didn't go quite smoothly for us today! [center's badminton racket and shuttlecock are darn lousy by the way. But no choice, blame myself for not bringing mine! It will be first in my to bring list when I go back next summer. ]

I'm not very sure what Thanksgiving is, but my Geology professor gave a very appropriate definition of what Thanksgiving Day is - a day when you eat turkey and watch football! It's true Americans spend Thanksgiving together with family by eating turkey and watch football. I have yet to know the taste of turkey. I think it should taste like chicken. Well, may be next year.

Waiting for my movie to finish downloading. I have not been eating healthily for this past few weeks. Had been eating fried food, which explains my pimple and ulcer breakout :(
I have to try to abstain from fried food this week. Lets make this my goal! I hope I succeed! (it's going to be very hard!) Wish me luck everyone!

I really miss my mom's cooking and the kopitiam's food near my house in s'pore :( I'm going to have a feast when I go back to Indo and S'pore next summer!

The food here is so boring. I'm not that picky about food, but if u eat the same stuffs u will get bored!!! Urgh!!! May be if I'm in NYC or California, things won't be so bad. But, I chose to come to this quaint town of Stillwater, so I have to put up with this. But I do wish that I'm a better and diligent cook (or at least my cousin), then I wouldn't have to complain about food!

No work! Spent my weekends watching shows on YouTube. Haha...

I managed to watch Liverpool vs Middlesbourgh match! 0-0 . What a disappointment. I thought Liverpool played well in the second half. They created chances, but couldn't converted any. And the introduction of Peter Crouch added the much needed strike force for Liverpool. But it might be a little too late. Well, a draw was better than losing I have to say. But their form is really sucky this season. If this would mean sixth European Cup, then it's ok, but who am I kidding? You won't be lucky twice! But, for some reason, I still believe in "two time lucky". Am I being silly?

I just watched the Amazing Race just now. The Chos bros are out! They're my fav. team actually. Mostly because of their Asian roots. But I also admire them for not to let the competitive nature of the game got into their mind and still continue to be themselves. They're being too nice, especially to Lyn & Karlyn. Being nice gets you nowhere (except may be to heaven). The bros said that they wanted to "play the race just the way we're brought up" and they wanted to have clear conscience when they woke up the next day. Their parents did a great job raising them!
Winning isn't everything. What's the point of winning through being cunning (like the beauty queens/blondies, and Rob and Kimberly) and back stabbers (like Lyn & Karlyn) ??? It's just not right! But if u're not selfish, u get push around. So which one is the "right" thing to do???
I also don't know. Just do what u think is right, I guess.

And, the Blondies don't even know where London is! And one of them mentioned that the Chernobyl disaster was due to atomic bomb explosion! For Pete's sake, what do they learn in school!!! But they seem to be strong and may be the first all female team to win the amazing race. Being a female, I will still support them, although I hope this race would help teach them some geography!

I don't have to work this weekend! Finally, I can enjoy my weekends!!!

I've been thinking. In fact, I did quite a lot of thinking lately. Like how to break the news of me quitting to Tommy, what subjects and how many subjects I should take next spring... and i'm doubting my decision to come to OSU. I mean the main reason i came here is not to be alone. But now, I'm thinking of the other side of the coin. If I dare to be alone, where will I go and how will I feel? And the reason of this doubt is simple- I'm fed up with my cousins. All 4 of them from the eldest to the youngest. For the eldest, I'm fed up with him cause he kept lecturing me about things (that I don't think that he really does himself, well I don't know, so better don't jump into wild guesses). He keeps saying how I always bully Sung and during the party, he said that why I didn't do the cooking. Me being a girl and the eldest, blah blah blah... I only had this to say to defend myself. I wanted to cook, but the twins wouldn't let me 'cause they feel that I was incompetent. And this is 21st century. Women have been "oppressed" for so long and it's time for them to strike back!!! Yeah, and also, he refused to let us (Sung and I) drive his car to practice our driving skills. Ok, don't talk about me. I don't even have the confidence to drive well. How about Sung??? I think he's a better driver than even his twin bros, that's because he had taken some driving lessons before. He let his bros drive his car all by themselves!!! I don't disagree with the fact that there's always a gap between cousins and own siblings. I would do that too. But he wouldn't even let Sung drive his car, not once! Ok, well, except when Sung wanted to take his driving test. *roll eyes* I respect him and look up to him, but sometimes, I just don't agree with him. And my inability to argue my point properly always let him get the better of me :( I really should take speech classes!

And as for my twin cousins--- I personally prefer Tommy (yeah, irony. He shares the same name as my mean supervisor!) I don't know. It's just that Tommy is more laidback and Thomas is more serious and rude to me. But, I want to complain about the two of them. Never keep their word--- say want to give me the tel no. of tour agency in OkC, but till now, no number! and then they always tease me. And when I ask them to give me a lift to the walmart in the evening, they're always reluctant (yeah, and poor me and sung had to withstand the cruel coldness waiting for the bus). You know, it's really unfair. They had the "luxury" to not wait for the bus in the cold and not to carry their heavy groceries to the bus stops ( as they always drive to Walmart) and they don't even want to share that with us :( They keep saying that they're busy, they have labs to do, blah blah blah. And they always say that business classes are so easy, nothing compared to the engineering classes they take. My respond is we haven't even taken any business related classes. All we took was general education classes that they have taken. And they have only themselves to blame for choosing engineering to business. So quit complaining!!! And since they do not choose business, they have no right to say it's easy, because they don't really know what business students are studying!!! URGH!!! So irritating!!! And not forgetting about their mother too!

As for Sung, u all know what I want to complain about. The same stuffs.

I chose to come here. So I just have to bear with everything and hope for the best.

Liverpool lost to Arsenal 3-0.

It breaks my heart to see Liverpool's form, especially their away form, right now. it's so bad! May be the good thing is that nobody will rub salt to my wound by teasing and making fun of my liverpool in front of me. But, u know what? I kinna miss that. It tells me that there is someone who see me. I'm not invisible. Yeah, I feel kinna invisible during lessons, except English. I talked to JJ, Glorick and sometimes to the others too. But for the rest of the lesson, nobody talks to me :(

Ok, I wanted to talk about the liv vs arsenal match, but yeah, i don't really know what to say. I don't really like to on a match that I read, instead of watch, if u don't get what I mean, nevermind.

Let's talk about my days. I got a feeling that this is going to be quite a long post. So, first, let me wish u all Happy Reading!

On Mon, during Geology lecture, this fat guy walked to the front of the lecture theater and told everyone present that the magic word for the day was "SOIL". He kept saying, "Everyone listen the magic word for today is soil. Ok, SOIL!" Then, he realized he made a mistake of sort and change the magic word to "POLLUTION". He said this would piss Dr Cruz, the teacher. I didn't know what we were supposed to do with the magic word. Only after a few minutes in the lecture that I realized what the magic word was for. As Dr Cruz mouthed out "pollution", we're supposed to shout "Wooohooo". But only those sitting at the back rows did (the fat guy and gang). Dr Cruz only mentioned it two or three times. She didn't really seemed to be pissed off. She just said, " if u keep doing it after two minutes, it will be so boring" nonchalantly. Haha...
But the guy's weird plan remained me of 4e1. It made me feel that the people taking Geology are really classmates and should be united as stuffs like that. But yeah, that would be the first and last of such "unity" i think.

Had to work on Tue. Sian! I woke up feeling lethargic, but I kept reminding myself that I was earning money and i only had to put up with this sucky job for another 3 more weeks! *Sigh* and Tommy was crazy! He gave me 14 rooms to do! Xiao! Luckily one room was already cleaned, but 13 rooms!!!! I think he forgot that Sugn and I were supposed to have lessons later in the afternoon. We didn't tell him that our lesson has ended. Anyway, since most of the rooms were stay over, so I didn't really clean it properly. I didn't even change the fitters for the beds :P Well, did u change ur bed sheet everyday? No rite? At least I changed the top sheets so that it looked nice. I cleaned 9 rooms in 3 hours. Wow!!! My all time record! I cheated a little, but who cares. This is what u will get when u're overworked! I only took 20 min lunch break. But then I took another half an hour break watchng Spongebob after finishing my second last room :P It's still early around 1.30pm. The rest of the housekeepers hadn't finish too, so what the heck. I was tired. I watched till 2pm and then worked slowly on my last room. Finished at 2.45pm. Haha... U treat me so "unfairly" I treat u the same way! At least I finished my job. I cleaned my assigned rooms. That's all my responsibility. I can be nice and help others do theirs, but what's the point of being nice when the receiving parties didn't appreciate my kindness???

And Rose, she's quite new, Camela and Shela's friend, came late for work and then Sung took her cart. We thought she was off. Then she went around looking for "her" cart. She confronted me saying that I took "Her" cart. I said no, it was "Charlotte's". She didn't believe me and went on to examine the cart before realizing that it's not "hers". It really pissed me off. Did she buy the cart with her own money??? Since when does the cart her property? It's the property of the hotel. Just because u always used that cart, doesn't mean that it's urs!!! Anyway, I think the cart that she uses is the one that Paula always use. But since Paula only works on weekends and Rose works weekdays and weekends, she somehow has the right to claim the cart. I was so angry! She was the one who came late for work. if she didn't use "her" cart for a day, she will die is it? and instead of wasting time looking all over the hotel for "her" cart, couldn't she just use another cart and start working??? Really, these people really get under my nerve! And all these people happen to be black. I'm not racist or anything, but this surely tells u something about this race! And I would never help any of them. In fact, I will only help Charlotte cleans her rooms. Ditto with Yoshi and Sung. They hate the rest of the housekeepers, including Tommy, too.

Today was a very windy day. There's a tornado warning! But the weather forecast says that tomorrow is going to be a sunny day. Anyway, I wasn't really sufficiently clothed for the windy day and I was really freezing! Had to brisk walk to my lessons :(

Just talked to Ren on MSN. She said that her room is not messy, contrary to my post. Haha...

The End

Monday, November 13, 2006

I think Sung, Yoshi and I were getting from bad to worse in our work attitude. On Sun, Sung and I worked together. And we took a total of 2 hours of break! After we cleaned 4 or 5 rooms, we went for lunch (the guests had not checked out anyway). This time, we went to Wendy's. I had never eaten Wendy's before so I wanted to try. We spent about 5o min there. And yeah, we still talked about quitting. Haha... After that, back to work. At around 1 pm, Sung and I only had 3 rooms left, and a guest had not checked out, so we decided to go to the computer lab to rest for half and hour. But Yoshi came too and then we played "guessing game". It started when Sung asked Yoshi aobut his name. 中 is called Naka in Jap. Yoshi's full name is Yoshiki Nakata ( 中岛吉贵)。Interesting! Then, Sung told Yoshi about the meaning, to Yoshi's surprise. Then, he typed some more Kanji as it is called in jap. And both of us were supposed to say ,or should I say guessed, the meaning of the word. It was quite fun actually! We guessed and guessed until 2 pm. And we still had 3 more rooms to do! Actually, we took so many long breaks because we know that we would finish early and Tommy would never let us go! He would want us to help the others. Not that I don't want to help, but the rest of them don't want our help. They(except Charlotte) always gave us unhappy look whenever we help them. They want their hours! *roll eyes* Anyway, Charlotte got a helper, so we thought that she would do ok. When we finished our rooms, it nearly 3 pm and as expected, Tommy wouldn't let us go! Yoshi and Sung told him that the rest of the housekeepers had helpers, and our help would not be needed. Tommy was doubtful, but our insistence prevails. He had no choice but to let us go! Haha... While waiting for the elevator, we heard Tommy's voice and he's moving towards the elevator. We quickly climbed the stairs and ran to punch out! The people in the front desk looked at us shocked! Haha...You must be wondering why we ran since Tommy let us go already, but at that moment, my thought was that if we didn't run, Tommy might change his mind and ask us to do some more work! This is what u do when u had a mean supervisor!

Saturday, November 11, 2006

Just came back from Thanksgiving dinner at the Family Resource Centre near the apartment. I felt bad just leave like that after eating. I know many people will do that, but still, I feel a little bad. At least I brought 2 boxes of cookies and clean my table after eating, right? Sung, Wu and i went there in the hope of eating free dinner. Yeah, sound cheapskate, right? I'm really bored by the food that I have been eating- pizza, frozen food, fried chicken nuggets and stuffs. So, when u can eat turkey, mashed potato, and some other things, why not?

When we reached there, we instantly felt out of place! We didn't know anyone there and people who came, mostly chinese (from mainland), knew one another. So the 3 of us just sat there, feeling awkward. Wu and Sung kept saying that we should go home. But I didn't want to. There's nothing to eat at home. And I was hungry! In the end, Wu called his friend and ask him if he could go to his house for dinner. He left. Sung wanted to go, but I said no. The queue was darn long! The Chinese were really "kiasu"! The grumbling of my impatient empty stomach caused me to ask for vegetarian dish. I didn't have to queue for it. Just ask for it from the assistant. And it's quite good. Pasta, mashed potato and green beans. The pasta was the "white version" - cheese and alfredo sause, I think. My favorite sauce! I don't really like the "red version"- tomato! I asked Sung to do the same, but he said that the food didnt' smell nice. His loss anyway. After eating, we left. I actually wanted to stay a little while or something. It's like eat and then left was so bad. But Sung kept complaining and I was so fed up! Please, what you expect? You went there to take advantage of free food. So don't expect too much! I took the whole thing calmly. May be the hunger made me thick skin and "persevere" till I got food. Haha...
Still, I didn't get to know what turkey tasted like! But I'm full now. Got what I wanted from the trip :) Haha...

Liverpool vs Arsenal tmr. Go Reds! They're in the winning streak! I hope they did well. I'm really fed up not being able to watch soccer matches. I'm still searching for a good program. The one that I used previously was "dead". I dunno why, but I couldn't open it :( Yeah, I'm sad. A soccer fan who can't watch her fav. team. That's me!

I'm so happy!!! I can finally watch CARS and the devil wears prada. Have been trying to download them, but there weren't in the program that I have. So, finally!!!

I finally scored full marked too for my elementary calculus. I will knock my head against the wall if I did! I mean it's so easy! Differentiation! Simple differentiation questions! I nearly got a question wrong as I misread the question. lUckily I realized it and changed it. Phew! And my TA, ms Naomi was so excited and sung and I scored full marks. She was even more excited and happier than us. Haha... Only 4 get full marks. And I scored full marks too for my english essay. Can u believe it, a full score for essay??? Wow! never imagine that! As long as you get all the sturcture correct, have a thesis statement and topic sentences, and presented a rather good argument, you can get a very high score. No wonder students have to score 90 to get an A. It's not that hard to get that kind of score (unlike in S'pore).

For english lesson today, we did peer critique for our argumentative essay. I was reading JJ's essay and it was so funny. The paper is about censorship of books. JJ wrote that he was against censorship as he feels that "human are thining animals". Haha.... I think what he meant is humans think like animals. But how can human thinks like animals???

The weather is freaking cold today. Had to go Walmart to buy groceries and it took ages for the bus to come! The wind was blowing my body heat away! I was waiting and cursing for the late bus! And it was so sunny yesterday! Oklahoma weather. My geology teacher said that because Oklahoma is landlock, the weather always fluctuating and it can go from spring to winter to summer... The water from the sea actually helps to make the weather more constant. I would never thought that I would say this, but I actually miss beaches. I will go to Pasir Ris and East Coast when I go back. May be Ancol too in Jakarta, but don't think so.

While watching cars last nite, JJ kept disturbing me :( He asked for help doing the reference page for english essay. Couldn't watch cars in peace. But I wasn't really that agitated and can maintain my politeness talking to JJ. If it's my bro or sis or cousins or good friends, I would probably throw a fit. I will help them definitely, but I will be very very reluctant and very pissed off. *sigh* you can always hide your anger when talking to stranger and remain polite and nice to them no matter how anger you are. But with your close friends or family, you feel it's alright to make your feeling known. You treat your love ones, the people that really matter to your life rudely when you should treat them even nicer than strangers. In a nutshell, you take them for granted :(

Had to work today:( I don't have any lesson on Tue since Oct. My BUS Orientation Lecture lasted only about 8 weeks. So, I'm free on Tue. But sadly, I have to work. Can't slack at home!

On the way home, something happened. A wheelchair bound man was alighting the bus and then he fell backward on his wheelchair. It was a loud thud. It must be very painful. I think he forgot to unlock the wheels of his wheelchair. He tried to push himself to the sidewalk and unfortunately he fell. Sometimes, I do wonder how it feels to lose your ability to walk and have to depend on a wheelchair to move around. But as soon as I begin to wonder, I shake off that thought. It must be very hard (all the inconvenience and discrimination). I don't know and I don't want to know. All I know is that you should never look down on the disabled!

Oh, the buses here are rather "wheelchair friendly". I haven't mention this, have I? At the exit door, the stairs can be extended out to form some sort of slope for the wheelchair bound people to wheel themselves on to it and then the bus driver will push a button and the whole thing will ascend. Thereafter, they wheel themselves into the designated space for wheelchair. I'm sorry if my description is lousy, but try to imagine it. It's very hard to describe it with my limited vocabulary. So, pardon me, please.

Next, I went to wash my clothes. Lo and behold, i forgot to bring the most important things when you go to the laundry. Nope, I remembered my basket full of clothes. I forgot to bring my coins!!! Silly me! How can you wash your clothes when you didn't bring quarters to feed the washing machine??? Had to run back home. Luckily, my apt is just 3 blocks away from the laundry. Otherwise.... better not talk about it.

Here's the update.

Let me refresh my memory first :P

ok, first, let me elaborate on the "party" on Thursday night. Actually, in the morning, Sung and I played badminton with JJ (the korean exchanged student. He's the bespectacled guy, who wore brown long-sleeved shirt in the photo on my previous post). Then, we showed him the way to our house. He insisted on seeing our apt. So, no choice, we let him in. He asked for coffee. I told him that he would have to wait as I had to boil the water first. I was really embarrased for not having a thermos or smt to contain hot water. But he didn't seem to care. Dunno why, Sung poured him Coke. So he had two glasses of drinks- hot coffee(Nescafe 3-in-1 brought from S'pore :) ) and Coke. He really liked the coffee. He said that it's very nice. And he took (or rather stole, cause he didn't ask permission first) a sachet home. Anyway, he went into my bedroom and was shocked by how messy it was. Haha... I told him that he's not supposed to see it till evening as I would be cleaning my room later in the afternoon. Besides, I liked my room to be a little messy. It's just feel weird for everything to be neat and in place. Furthermore, I don't think my room is extremely messy. Messy yes, but not that bad. Well, at least not as bad as yueying's. Haha... Sorry, Ren! ;P He looked at the photos of my family and said that my little sis looked older than me. Haha... Didn't know that I looked so young or should I say my sis looked old??? Haha... Hmph... wonder what's her expression will be when I told her this. JJ also said that I am thinner than last time. Haha...

He didn't managed to finish both his drinks and Sung said he would save it for later. He nodded. I think he didn't believe that we would do that, cause in the evening, when we gave him his unfinished drinks, he looked a little surprised.

I learnt that JJ and Glorick served for 2 plus years in the army. That's explain why they're still undergrad at 26yrs of age! And Glorick mentioned that he almost went crazy after his military service or NS as we call it in S'pore. He said that he was always slapped by his commander. Poor thing!

We mingled and as expected, JJ was the most talkative! Sung and tomtom kept feeding him with icecream. Haha...

I think that's all the interesting things from the "party".

On Sat. I had to work :(

The 3 of us went to McDonalds to eat lunch. Haha...Yup, we sneaked out again :P It was fun actually. But the first time was better. Haha... And it's a fourth of fifth time I ate McD here in the country where McD was born! First was french fries bought by my sis at McD in the Walmart(yup, there's McDonalds in the Walmart). Then, cheeseburgers(can't remember if I bought it once or twice) also at Walmart. Next, cheeseburger bought at drive-thru counter. Almost everything is drive-thru here. They even have drive-thru banks! And then this :D

I had a room which was darm messy. Worse than my bedroom. Things were all over the place. Papers, clothes, towels. And there's only one man staying in that room. Stupid man! That's the messiest and dirtiest room ever! Oh, and he put the coffeemaker in the bathroom. That guy actually make coffee in the bathroom! Wow!

Had to work again today, but nothing interesting. We didn't sneak out cause we had a free breakfast. The restaurant at the hotel gave everyone working in the hotel a free breakfast. the leftover I supposed. Whatever it is, I was starving and glad that I had a free meal :

Thursday, November 02, 2006

Had the party just now. Sung and I decided to go to the Walmart at the last minute. We bought Ice cream. Because we feel that there should be a desert. Just brownise is not enough. So we went and waited a long time for the bus. We hoped that Tomtom had not reached our house yet. Well, they arrived earlier than we expected. Thomas seemed frustrated with us. I felt really bad. But what to do?

So Tommy started to cook potato. I don't know what he's planning to do with the potato. We only planned to cook fried noodle with some ingredients. Tomtom cooked. Thomas seemed to be angry, and fed up with us (cause we didn't really have enough pot for cooking. Anyway, after much doubt and should I say struggle, we or rather Tomtom managed to cook rather nice noodles, potato with shrimps and veggie. We also ordered 2 large pizzas cause we thought we wouldn't be able to cook enough noodle. So in the end, everything went well. But I felt very tired. They said i was very quiet. I was half watching Survivor, half eating and also exhausted! Couldn't talk much can I?

But I'm glad everything went well. Of course it all THANKS TO MY TWO TWIN COUSINS!!! And Sorry for the lack of preparation on my part!

Halloween

Went to Student Union with Tomtom to help the Indonesian Organization with the game stall they put up for Halloween. Well, I didn't help much. I think I only helped once, before I left. Haha... They set up a booth where children had to put in their hand into 4 covered containers to guess what were inside. Then, they got candies!!!

My first Halloween celebration. The children were so cuteeee!!! Dressed up in different costumes from princesses to fairies to many other creatures.

The children (especially small ones)looked gloomy. I think they're wondering why they had to dress up in funny costume and why so many people were also dressed up in some weird costumes. Or they may be wondering why they got so many sweets very easily when most of the time, they had to beg and beg their moms to give them some. Haha...

Nobody knocked on my apartment door to ask for candies though, thank godness. I didn'g buy any treat :P May be next year I will, in case some kids knock on my door. Some houses had carved pumpkin outside their doors, like my neighbours. There's a pumpkin carving competition in the neighbour hood. I wanted to participate but I have no time. I barely had time to study for both my exams, nevermind carve a pumpkin! Anyway, I did enjoy my first Halloween even though I didn't went to view all the "attractions", like the Haunted House. I had exams the next day, what U expect? I was a little reluctant to go when Tommy asked me, but what the heck, it's Halloween!!! Didnt' study for an hour or so won't do much harm, right?

The exams were okay. I think I should do okay! I hope.
Wow! It's only 5.30 pm and it's already dark outside. The sun used to set at 9pm in the summer. I wonder what time the sun will set in winter. 4pm???

Liverpool won! 3-0 at Anfield vs Bordeaux! And Gerrard scored his first goal of the season!!!
Liverpool is through to the last 16 of CL! I hope they would do well at CL. Their EPL form is hopeless!

Barcelona drew with Chelsea. What a bummer! Barcelona was leading twice! How could they let Chelsea come from behind???

Whatever it is Liverpool is through to the next round! That's the most important things. I really hope they won't meet Chelsea. It's so boring to always have Chelsea vs Liverpool!

My Geology Exam was postpond to Wed. And of all reasons, the reason for the postpond was that my teacher didn't printed enough test paper for everyone! yuup, it's ridiculous! I wanted to take the exam today. A few people did, but I took the opportunity to browse through the paper and found some questions that I wasn't too sure of the answer. And when u were given more study time, u would have to make the best out of it, no?

That's not the only thing that's postpond. Sung's b'day party was also postponded as only one person can make it. So we will be having it on Thur and Tomtom would be free to come and they would cook. They're the better cook, so we can invite more ppl this time as we don't really have to worry about the taste of the food. Imagine inviting people to a dinner only for the guests to eat bland food. That will be so embarrasing!

And I finally received my jacket that I purchased from eBay 2 weeks ago. My very first jeans jacket!I've always wanted a jeans jacket, dunno why may be bcuz i find it cool or something. But I found it expensive and with the tropical climate of Singapore and Indo, when would I have the chance to wear it? So, now that I earn my own money and with the colder weather approaching, I can finally buy and wear it! I'm so happy :D

Forgot to mention this in my last post. I finally know the reason why a lady riding on a horse and the army doing push-up thing appeared! They will come out whenever OSU scored a touch down. And the army guy will do push ups according to the score of OSU team. The last time he did push-ups, he had to do 41 times! Well, he did it! Great job! The whole stadium was clapping for his achievement!

OSU won! They trashed Nebraska 41-29.
Today, daylight saving time ended. What is daylight saving time?

According to Wikipeida, Daylight saving time (DST), also known as summer time, is a widely used system of adjusting the official local time forward, usually by one hour from its official standard time, for the spring, summer, and early autumn periods. The term Daylight savings time, although commonly used, is technically incorrect.

DST is most commonly used in temperate regions, due to the considerable variation in the amount of daylight versus darkness across the seasons in those regions.

Since 1966, most of the United States has observed Daylight Saving Time from at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April to 2:00 a.m. on the last Sunday of October. Beginning in 2007, most of the U.S. will begin Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and revert to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete. (webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/index.html )

Since Fall back, it means that I have an hour time of sleep time (or study time for my geology)
Kinna troublesome to adjust here and there, but it's cool to in some sense :)

It's summer time again yesterday and today. It's not cold at all. The sun shone brightly and I could feel the heat of the sun on my skin again. I bet the weather will change again tmr. Oklahoma weather!

I just realized that I had lost quite a lot of weight. Haven't gone to colvin centre to weigh myself. That's the only place that have weighing machine as far as I know. This morning when I put on my Lee jean, it fitted nicely (actually, it was a little loose). The last time I tried to wear the same jean, I had to held my breath to button it! Oh my! And almost all my jeans are loose. I thought I would gain weight when I came here. I mean all my cousins who went to US to study gained weight. But thankfully it didn't happen to me *grin*

I think it's because I don't eat much carbohydrate. I dunno. But I'm glad I have lost some weight though. Haha... I didn't tell my parents about this. I also don't dare telling my parents about the problem I faced from work. Being sick and still have to work. It's not because I'm scared that they would accuse me of not eating properly or ask me to quit my job, but because I don't want them to worry for nothing! And now that my dad has MSN, I can't complain about my job or express my jubilant over my weight loss on MSN. So all I have is this blog!

I really had achieved so much the past 5 months since I came here! I wouldn't have thought that I would be able to clean a hotel room by myself or open a bank account on my own or even survive in this foreign land on my own. Granted, I have cousins with me here, but i'm basically left on my own. They do their own stuffs and I mend my own business. U know what? I'm proud of myself! Haha...Really! I wouldn't have thought in a million years that I would be doing all these stuffs that I did here!

Ok, back to studying. And my throat is killing me now. The nose is okay, but my throat starts to itch now :( ARGH!!!!

Homecoming

Friday was the Homecoming. And OSU football team lost. How embarrising was that to lost at home on Homecoming day! They lost 25-27 to Texas A&M. Watched the match on tv. First time watching football match. I didn't understand a thing, except when they scored a touch down. And every few minutes of playing, they would have a sudden time-out and the band would play or a women riding a horse would cicle round the football field or a group of men and women in army clothing would perform weird stuff, 4 of them would carry a board on which one of their members did push-ups. It's so weird and I hated it when the match suddenly went for time-out. There's no flow at all. It's irritating really to have a time-out and have all sorts of people doing some weird stuffs. Anyway, the weather was really bad! It was freezing out there. The wind was blowing and sent shiever down my spine when I was walking home from work. When I reached home, my ears pained so much and my head spinned! I thought I was going to faint!

According to Wikipedia, "Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States of America. Peoples, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or October, to welcome back former residents and alumni. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet, football game, basketball game, or an ice hockey game. When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. However, they usually consist of a football game played on the school's home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school's marching band, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen (and at many schools, a Homecoming King). Related "Homecoming Dances" can be either boy ask girl or Sadie Hawkins style".

The fountain had changed color to Orange with regards to this event.

Kokogi told me that OSU has the best homecoming celebration in America. But I didn't enjoy it very much though. Too many people. It's like Chinatown during Chinese New Year!

Just came back from work. I'm so tired!!! And my nose is killing me. Had been having block nose since yesterday :( Must be the weather! It started to get colder, but it's hot today! Oklahoma's weather! It's always changing! Actually, I wanted to call in sick today, but I know what that Tommy will say. So I didn't, but Sung did. He's having a sore throat! Hey, I'm sicker than him okay! Anyway, went to work and was sniffling the whole day. The others noticed that I wasn't feeling well and yup, I still came to work! Well, I was forced! Then, when I was loading up my cart, that stupid Tommy kept telling me that if Sung's really not feeling well, he should not come. He should stay at home. I asked him to call Sung and tell him that because I had no cellphone and how was I supposed to tell Sung? He said, "No. If he's not feeling well, he should rest at home..." *I just continued loading my cart and didn't really hear him. I mean, what's the whole point of telling me this. I wasn't the person he's referring to. I felt like strangling him! So the thing was, he wanted us coming for work despite us being sick and didn't want to feel bad because he forced us to do so. HEnce, he kept saying excuses to defend himself. But it's a bad excuse!

Pauline helped me cleaned the room and I asked her that we would like the weekends off. She said that she would talk to Tommy about it. As expected, that stupid Tommy wouldn't let us off. He said that we agreed to work on Football weekend. IN defense, we told him that our teacher changed the exam schedule. So he proposed for one of us to work on Sat and the other worked on Sun. I said that I couldn't work on Sun as I wanted to study and I remembered stuff better when I learnt it the day before the exam. Sung said the same thing. So we asked to work on Sat and wanted the Sun off. He said he will see the schedule again. He asked me if I think he's bad. I said yes, a little because when people are sick, he still forced us to come. Then, he defened himself saying that if we're really sick, we should stay at home blah, blah, blah. Whatever he said, I will always think that he's a mean supervisor. I mean whose supervisor would force his employees to work when they're sick??? Not enought housekeepers, employ more lah!

I'm so quitting this job by the end of Nov. Tommy would definitely not let us quit now. Shortage of people and stuff. So I will quit by end of Nov. By then football season is over and my final exams are coming. So I need the time to study for final and I will tell him that I'm going back Indo for winter break (and I will tell him that I had bought the ticket already, so have to go back no matter what unless he or the hotel pay for the refund and stuff), and I can't work on weekends anymore for the next semester- more courses... I'm very sure that this will work! All my reasons are valid!

Today is a sucky day. Started with not being able to watch liverpool and then liverpool lost 2-0 to Man U. Then when I came to work, the other housekeeper took our cart away. I know it's the cart that she always uses, but she came late and she just had to do with the other cart that are not used! We (yoshi and I) were loading the cart and then Camela (whatever the spelling is) came and said that " this is my cart!" She then put her things on the cart. So we had no choice but to go up and use the other cart which was spoilt and very very very messy. Sunggoro and Daphnie (they work together) were also treated unfairly by Camela's friend Shiela. But she's way ruder than Camela. She was storming and muttering something and I heard her saying that "We work on weekdays and you guys only work on weekends. These are our carts!" I gave her a weird look, but she didn't see me. Her back was turned at me. I was thinking," your cart? Did u even buy it? If u don't want people to use ur cart, bring it home, lock it somewhere!" So irritating. And poor Sung and Daphnie. They had loaded the cart with all the things and started doing their rooms already! They were so unreasonalbe. I've never been treated this way (I think). Well, not by adults who are old enough to be my parents! Oh my!

The four of us had to go up and reload two lousy carts! And we were complaining all the way. Yoshi and Sung were saying that we all should just go home and let them handle all the cleaning! Daphie and I agreed. But of course we couldn't do that :( Yoshi wanted to quit the housekeeping job too. See, I think we are the only stupid international students who do such a job! Well, u learn from experience! We received an email, saying that the restaurant at the hotel is looking for people to wash the dish. The pay is 5o cents higher and u only need to work for a certain time. If I remember correctly, 8 to 11.30am every weekend. That is so much better than doing housekeeping job!

Sung finished first, Daphnie needed to leave to go to Kansas. Yoshi and I were doing out last room. In the room, we talked about quitting this job and joked around. Then we were discussing what we should do next when we'd done our rooms (It's still early only 2pm. We definitely weren't allowed to go home) We didn't want to find Tommy as he would definitely ask us to do some other things or help others do their jobs :( So we do our last room slowly, then walk around before Sandie saw us. He told us that Tommy wanted us to help Charlotte. We said ok. We helped Charlotte cleaned her rooms ( Charlotte is nice. We don't mind helping her, but not Mable, Camela or Sheila!). Then after we finish helping Charlotte, Sandie told the three of us that Tommy wanted to see us. She mentioned something about the laundry. So, we were thinking of places to hide so that Tommy would not find us. We saw the laundry bags outside the laundry rooms and agreed that we didn't want to do the laundry! So we walked around, help throw the rubbish, then after much thought, and the instant grumbling of our stomach, we decided to go to Subway, a few block away from the hotel to get something to eat. So off we go. I still couldn't believe we did just that- taking French leave! Haha... But it was fun!
And since I happened to bring my camera along, I decided to preserve this rare moment in the form of photos!

Sung and Yoshi

Me eating cookie

YoshiA mexican restaurant opposite the Subway. I think it's cute, the cactus and all!

Then after around 20 min, we decided to go back and we would Tommy that we looked for him everywhere and couldn't find him. So we decided to go to the Student Union to buy some snacks from the vending machine. We didn't have our lunch! When we went back, we saw some of the other housekeepers going home. So we were thinking that we should be able to go home too! We quickly go to find Tommy, then we saw the "laundry guys" were there to do the laundry which means that we were free to go! Indeed, we were :D We should do this more often! Haha...

Haven't blog for so long :P

Wanted to watch Liv match this morning, but dunno why I couldn't open the channel on the program. Tried and tried, and finally, I gave up. Have to settle with reading the live commentary from Soccernet :( And Liverpool is trailing one goal down!!! I didn't think liverpool will win as Man U is really on form and Liverpool? Yeah, no word can describe my dissapointment :( But i'm hoping for a miracle. At least a draw, Reds! I don't know what happen to Liverpool and Gerrard. Haven't been playing well at all this season :(

I had my Geology lab exam last Thur. The exam was MCQs. I don't know why, but all my exams for the subjects that I'm taking, except English and Maths, are MCQs! I think it's good in a way, at least if u don't know the answer, u can make a guess. You still have 1 in 5 chances of getting correct answer. Ok, back to the Lab exam. It's basically asking stuffs that were covered in the lab, like the different types of rocks and minerals. Before the exams, I asked the teaching assistant some questions because i'm not sure if i need to study them, stuffs like all the properties of minerals and the different types of faults. And his reply was really a big help for the exam. He basically told me the answer to the questions in the exam. Not directly, but what he told me came out, so... I would not be able to answer some of the questions if not for his hints. But there were some things that he didn't teach in class ( but he told me about it in his email :) ) like convergent fault will result in high silica rocks such as granite. After the exam, I asked him about this ( him not teaching us this and still came out on the test). I was really surprised by his answer. He said as a matter-of-factly, " Yeah, I didn't tell you about this, but I didn't set the test!" What kind of answer is that! I understand that he's trying to defend himself, but it's really shocking to hear him say that.

Planned to call in sick for work! Called to tell that Stupid Tommy that I had a terrible headache and couldn't go for work. He said that I should take medicine and walk around and called him again in half an hour. He also said that the hotel was so busy that I was really needed. I felt guilty for lying so I decided to go for work. THen, when I reached the room, Tommy asked me to sit down and kind of lecture me. He said that if I really feel very sick, then I should not come at all. At that point of time, I really felt like murdering him. I mean what's the point of telling me that when I was already there???? But yah, if I weren't there, it would be very bad. Cause even with me there working, we were still having a hectic and busy day.

I was and still am sick! I'm sick of this housekeeping job and the main reason is that I have to work on weekends!!! Every weekend have to wake up so early to work!!!! What a bummer! It was okay initally when things weren't that busy at school, but my workload is getting heavier, there's more exams and I need my weekend! I will be having my Geology exam next next mon and I'm going to ask for the sunday off. If that stupid tommy try to "lecture" me again and said that I'm really needed for work cause it's football weekend, screw him! I'm not going to work the day before my exam. I'm a FULL TIME student!!! Part-time housekeeper. I have to prioritize and my study is my top priority. If he won't give me the sunday off, which I don't think he will dare to do, I'm not going to go to work! I have a good reason not to go for work anyway. Besides, I'm quitting by the end of the semester. Enough is enough. My own room is terribly in need of cleaning, so it's time to stop cleaning other people's room and clean my own room!!!

Liverpool drew against Blackburn. They are in 10th place!!! I'm really worried for my beloved team *sigh* I hope they would jia you. But if their sloppy EPL performance would mean them winning the CL again, I won't mind :) But I doubt it would.

I'm really looking forward to Chelsea vs Barca showdown. Wonder how Chelsea will cope with a third-choice goalkeeper guading their goalpost. May be they should ask John Terry to guard it again. Haha... Poor Cech, he has a skull fracture. I hope he's okay. See what u got playing for Chelsea!

I went to see my geology professor and she happened to be babysitting her 2 years old daughter,Lia, in her office. Her husband had a dental appointment, so she had to bring Lia with her. Lia is so cuteeeeee!!! She has short blond hair and big blue eyes. YUP, she has blue eyes!!! Just like her mum. I just realized that my geol prof has blue eyes. Well, her eyes are quite small,so I can't see it from a far! I'm crazy about blue eyes. But blue eyes are nice!!! The minute I stepped into the office, she straight away talked to me. She was counting her penny and then she showed it to me, saying some stuffs that I didn't quite catch what she was saying. I think she said something like, " look at my money" or something like that. When I was asking my prof. some questions, she kept hitting me on the arm to get my attention. She showed me her Donald Duck figurine and then showed me her toys. So cute!!!! She was so full of energy and so outspoken(or talkative). She's more outspoken than me!!! She's actually the most outspoken toddler I have ever met!

Then, I finally able to meet with my group to do the Sociology book presentation. There's 3 girls( including me) and 1 guy in my group. The other 2 girls know each other and they are going to have some kind of party tonight. And they just couldn't stop talking about the party! If they didn't talk about the party, they would talk about some other stuffs like their hair, getting a tan, or gossiping. Both of them are in charge of one book. Me and may be the guy(we dunno what book he's reading) will do the other book. I had done the outline for the book and they didn't do anything at all. And what's worse was that they spent 1 min talking about the presentation and spent like 10 min gossiping! Oh my godness! I was hoping for the guy to come or for this useless meeting to end quickly! The guy finally came and he happened to be reading the same book as me, but he's of no use also. He didn't know what to do for the presentation and he hadn't even read the book. But we managed to discuss a little more useful stuff for our presentation. Then we go home. I wasted 11/2 hr listenning to 2 American girls chitchatting about some useless thing!!! What a waste of time! We're supposed to meet again on Sun. I really hope this won't be as useless as the previous meeting!!!

OH, England lost by the way! Own goal by Neville. But poor Robinson got all the blame! I know Robinson was partly to blame for that, but still, England was really sucky! No Gerrard, that's why! Haha... Gerrard hasn't been playing very well. I think it's because of the squad rotation thing. Benitez should really stop rotating the squad and stick to a more consistent squad that deliver result. Liverpool has lost enough games!!! And we don't need another Tinkerman in EPL! Benitez hasn't u learn anything from Ranieri???

I just remembered that I have to take my driving(practical) test within 90 days of taking the theory test. And this means that I have to take it before Oct 13! Oh my! That is so impossible. I would definitely fail! I mean i'm still uncomfortable driving. So, this means that I have to retake my theory test again before I can take my practical test, which is really frustating. I was really relieved that I passed my theory test and thought that I wouldn't have to take it again, but... :( I just hope that since it will be my second time, I would be a lot calmer, and hope that the bad experience of taking the first test would not happen again. I definitely don't want to go through that all over again! No, definitely not!!!

I think I will just have to be satisfied with my learner's permit license for now. This allows me to drive as long as I am accompanied by an adult ( someone over than 21 years old).

I'm not sure when I will be ready to take the practical test or should I say when I am ready to hit the road and really really drive a car without any assistance ( or in another words be comfortable driving a car). May be I have to wait till next summer. Well, just hope i could conquer this fear as soon as possible. I hate practical stuff (yup, I really really hate doing science practical! Always very blur of what I was supposed to do. That's why always depended on Benjamin most of the time. Haha... But I made it through O level prac. )So I can do it!!! Hopefully
Went to have dinner with Tomtom last night at The Hideaway. Again, I forgot to bring my camera, so couldn't take the 18 inch pizza! It's the first time the four of us, we're called "the rabbits" by our families as the four of us are born in the year of Rabbit, had a meal togther. Sweet! As we walked to the bus stop, couldn't help but notice the bright full moon in the dark cloudness night sky. It gave me a serene feeling. And yup today is Mid-Autumn Festival. No mooncake, no lantern for me :(

I heard there's some sort of Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration. When we went to the lawn, we heard a guy rappin. Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with rapping??? We learnt that it is organized by the Asian American Student Association (or whatever the organization is called). This is the first time I get upclose to asian american. They're more like American than Asian to us. It's good that they have an interest to their roots, but come on, rapping in Mid-Autumn Celebration??? It's so far off. The least they could do is to do some research about the festival and if they really didn't know what to do to kill time before the main event started, they could play some asian musics or share their previous Mid-Autumn Festival experience or some other thing related to Mid-Autumn Festival. I also notice the head of the lion? I don't know what it's called it's the thing used to perform Lion Dance. Another off theme for Mid-Autumn Festival! *shake head* May be I should organize next year. Haha.... Well, I need to join some organization first. I have decided to join organizations next yer. For the time being, i just want to concentrate on getting use to live in Stillwater.

*sigh* Sung failed his practical test :( No car for another week. I thought that if he pass, then he could rent a car then go somewhere during the fall break. But, well...

For the topic on Feminism, we were discussing on what is feminism?

For the record, feminism is not about women wanting to be like men- it's about basic human rights and equality!

Then we proceed to how do feminists look like? A guy mentioned that they have hairy armpit, and they are big and muscular. Haha... My teacher, a self-professed feminist. laughed out loudly and said that she shaved her armpit hair and she's a little muscular because she grew up in the farm. I don't know what a feminist looks like, but the image that I have in my mind is that they look like any normal, common women you can find in the street or school or office. Well, not like models or Hollywood actresses, they are not your common women anyway.

My teacher, Ms Hough, asked the class this question," how many of you are a feminist?" Only a few unsure hands being raised. She proceed to ask, both the male and female in the class about who thinks there should be equal rights, like voting, for both men and women. Before anyone could raise up their hands, she continued saying that if you said yes, then you're a feminist. A feminist need not only be a female. A male can be a feminist. ( this is really an eye-opener because I always thought a feminist is a female!).

She discussed some other things which is in the notes and in order to fully explain this, I need to type what're in the notes and I don't want to that, so let's skip it.

Before the class ended, she asked the males in the class how many of them would marry a women who earn more than them. Quite a no. of people raise up their hands. A guy whom Ms Hough always refer as Mr Campbell, said that he didn't care as long as she's nice and he loved her, nothing matters. Hmph...

She asked the same question to the girls( marry men with earning lower than them) Only a few hands shot in the air. The reason was simple. Women want men who can give them security both financially and socially. So, very few would want to provide for their husband. The husband is supposed to provide for the wife. That's what I think. And I want my husband to be cleaverer (in terms of his IQ) and richer than me. THis gives me a sense of security!!!

One last question was asked before it's time to go. How many of the girls in the class would marry a son raised by a feminist. This question was a shocker. Some muttered that they never thought of this before. Well, a girl raised up her hand and she said that a guy raised by a feminist would have more respect for women. May be this is true! I don't know.
