Sunday Dress and Stuff

Can you even believe that today was Elle's last day in Beehives?!

 No. Way.

Don'tcha think she looks particularly cute in my skirt?  It's hers now. . .

In other news. . .

We went to a special showing (as in free) of Hotel Transylvania 2

And came away with free advertising swag

Then, since we were next to the Chinese theater we wandered around looking at the walk of stars and footprints and stuff.

Elle wanted to find Mary Poppins:

Aren't her hands tiny?!

We found her star too!

It's such a strange place.  As usual, there were all sorts of random people dressed up as random movie characters. You can take your picture with these nobodies (if you pay them).  We saw a Spider Man and a Minnie Mouse and a transformer guy

Speaking of random things. . ..

Last week Chris and Elle were making books and had their clamps out.
Chris was making dinner and it said to flatten the chicken, so he decided to be creative about it:

It didn't work.  He had to pound the snot out of it the usual way.

More randomness:

Elle and I went to the mall and explored this quaint? crazy? little shop.
It sold things like bacon band-aids and eye-balled shaped contact lens holders and. . .

FINGER TENTACLES:

And adorable dresses!
Ohmygosh!  Don't you just love the green one?!  I so want it, but I could never pull it off.   (plus we didn't see it for sale on the floor anywhere)  Oh well.

And that is the end of this particular post!

New Stuff

Elle has this nook in her room, but we didn't really know what to do with it.  A desk would just face the wall, and how boring is that?  A bed would make her feel claustrophobic, plus she'd have nothing interesting in the rest of the room.  We looked at IKEA shelves, but nothing seemed perfect.  Then, Chris had the brilliant idea to build one himself!  He was very excited (even though it would cost more than two IKEA shelves, but whatever. . .)  First, he made a 3-D model of the shelf on his computer. (of course, because he's Chris)

And Little Red Hen style: (except we helped a little)
He bought some lumber and a saw and nails.
He measured the wood.
He cut the wood

He glued the wood:

He assembled the wood,
and out came a great bookshelf that fits the space perfectly!

Nice job, huh? Good work Handyman Chris!

Other new stuff:

Elle's glasses!

She was due for a new prescription and new style:

Super cute!
