The other day Chris went to the store while Elle and I went to the library.
After putting the groceries in the trunk, Chris thought," Hey, I wonder what's on sale at Best Buy." He walked a few steps then heard the big CRUNCH sound that comes when two vehicles collide. Chris thought, "Aw, that's too bad. Two people just crashed. Glad it wasn't me. I'm glad my car is safely parked in a parking spot," and kept walking.
He took his time and thankfully didn't buy any electronic junk while he was at Best Buy to replace all of the electronic junk he got rid of at the ecycle earlier that day.
However, when he got back to the car, he realized he was at the wrong mini because the one in front of him was halfway out of its parking space. It was also smooshed in the front. Then he saw my unmistakable beadazzled sunglasses in the cup holder and realized that this was indeed his mini after all.
Thankfully, the woman, who apparently went speeding through her own parking space and partly into Chris's ( somehow going fast enough to displace the mini even with the emergency break on), left a note with her phone number and insurance info.
A bystander told Chris that the woman had waited a long time for him to return but finally gave up.
We are so grateful that Chris decided to browse Best Buy instead of getting into the car right away. We are also grateful that he finished putting the groceries away minutes before the mini was rudely pushed out of its spot.
Yay for miracles!
Chris called the woman and left a message: "Uh, ya, hi. I think you hit my car... I got your note. Thanks. Bye."
She hasn't called back, so we don't know how on earth she managed such an amazing act.
Supposedly, the tow truck picked it up today and will take it to the car hospital in the morning.
