"You can never satisfy everyone"

catch phrase of the week.

i am now v careful with what i say to people now.

just one meal, and i get remarks like "Charmiane, you cheat me, not nice" and when you ask that person what is nice, they reply "Kishinbo" then i say u pay for what you get.

my temper was not in the bestest that day, i nearly lashed out.

"hao xin mei hao bao" i never want to help organize for them.

grumbling here, because was in a very foul mood after coming back from qing ming part 2.

cannot understand those people, always say young people this young people that, when they are also doing the same thing. the kettle calling the pot black.

have been v frustrated at work and i am nearly at the verge of my breaking point, i cannot understand how people can work for 25 years, though i was pre-warn to find a way of here as possible, maybe it is time, but the people are nice.

dilemma is not a good situation.

the lunar new year is drawing near yet i am down with flu since last week and progressed into a cough now after all that dusting and clearing of my room. nevertheless the room is now neat and cleaner than usual.

well time has passed and the end is drawing near for one of my colleague who has decided to leave us which i think for her is a good decision made since she is suffering a lot now due to underlying "misunderstandings" or what has happened, only god knows.

but fun times we had together.

recently, we went prawning. after the failed attempt with angelus, this time round i caught i think 6-7 prawns, with many prawns managed to tug away. the fresh prawn is really, Delicious.

photos to show the catch of the day.

Leave off from work, shouldn't be spend at home, stuck in front of the computer, so i went to see

MV Doulos, the oldest passenger ship that was docked at Vivocity.

it seems that it will be decommissioned in Singapore so its Final Port ever is nonetheless Singapore.

a short summary of this ship is that, the ship goes from country to country like a mobile library. and also this ship also promotes Christianity. so i should just stop at here and i think u guys will have an idea what is the aim of the ship.

attracted by the fact that it will no longer sail across the seven seas and there is a book fair, i woke up a little earlier today and made a trip down to vivo city to go on board the ship and to browse the books that are on sale.

gt a cookbook for mom and a Disney collection of stories for my niece and nephew.

i will try to upload some pictures when blogger is working normally again or just go to my fb to see them.

Have a great weekend everyone

Body world

since my parents and I were not working on monday, we decided to go to Body World to see, plus since my dad passed 2 me two tix to omni a long long time ago, we also watched "Under the Sea". time and tide waits for no man.

time really passed very fast. it is nearly a year since i started working and it did not feel like a year, and very well feel very comfortable in my current working environment.

i guess this is the consequence of growing old, time just flashes in front of you and a day will come and we would wonder where have all these year gone to.

anyway on a lighter note, it has been very fun working there and meeting any interesting attachment students and nevertheless i guess they are the one that makes life very interesting and lively.

can you imagine suddenly you are doing something and out of the sudden a big group of them comes in and shouts "TEA BREAK". i nearly dropped what i was holding on my hand a few times.

there are some more reserved but when Friday comes, oh man, like a alarm clock that just woke up. madness.

then there are some, forever xiu xiu nian (naggy and always mumbling to himself) and it is a guy. one who likes to pinch and start fighting and arguing over either nothing or very little things. fun to watch but then it gets rowdy it is really rowdy.

i am glad that so far i have no made the wrong choice to accept this job even though it is far and that the fact that i might be moving house in the next year.

the pay may not be fantastic but i guess i am one of the few people around me whom i know that i enjoy going to work even on Mondays and it is always a fun fun day at work.

oh some photos of our recently outings to pasir ris park and there is a upcoming BBQ soon.

Hot sticky weather we have now after that minor relief that we got from a week of rain.

so i am stuck at home with fan full blast and guess what.

addiction to "How It's Made?" series on Youtube after watching one posted on FB by a fellow colleague.

Go check it out, it is very interesting. Like hot balloons, marbles, etc even flutes are made by machinery or hand made.

Oh, my fellow stray friend is back and waits patiently for me to come home everyday from work even if i knock off from work late. I believe that is a sign of gratefulness that when i appears he has food but to contrary beliefs that once cats are full they ignore you, this cutie sticks to me like glue and always try to trip me as he likes to rub against my legs and shoes.

His meows are gentle and very rare do u find a tom cat that gentle and that friend.
I guess neutering him brings about more feminine changes?

Meanwhile, the "sam-seng" at home is going on to the next stage of her life: adulthood with the onset of M, she is still as playful as a pup and sometimes can be very amusing.

Brought her out for a bike ride yesterday. It took me 15mins just to get her into the basket and 3 rounds round my compound before i dared to venture out to the roads just in case she did any stunt of jumping out of the basket half way.

But she did anyway at ECP twice, once was because of this kid in front of me suddenly jam brake, luckily i was going slow or not i do not know what will happen, the second time was because i went into the sand and i think the bike jumped a bit and so instinct was for her to jump out.

Cycled for about 5km from my house to bedok jetty and back and i must be in bad shape because my butt hurts and my lower limb was hurting last night. Should go more often.

Met up with cherish on friday and am i say that she really like her steak and aston's getting more crowded by the day. Shall try something else the next time i go.

International Museum Day is here again and I went museum hopping.

First stop

Singapore Philatelic Museum

There was an ongoing exhibition of comics theme stamps. It is pretty small with 2 levels and several galleries of rare and local stamps. What is interesting is that they show step by step on how they produce stamps from design to cuttings. Did not take much photos because there is not really much stuff there.

But i spent a lot at the museum shop though. Total damage done was around $50. Had to sit at the shop for nearly 1 hour before deciding which stamps to get because there were too many i wanted.

Next stop

Peranakan Museum

The first thing that greeted me was this small art piece:

Then I bend down and gave it a pat. I think not many people noticed it. It is in memory of a cat that stayed at the building so it came the mascot but i think it died recently. Anyway the new peranakan museum is Old Tao Nan School.

Just when i walked it, a group of performers don in traditional peranakan costumes belt out several favourite hits like Rasa Sayang etc.

As compared to the philatelic museum, it was so packed I did not really got the chance to slow down and enjoy much of the galleries since there were bus loads of people coming up from different CC's and RC's.

But i got to try this:

Batik painting. done from scratch. Outlining with hot wax and painting it. It turned out badly smudge as I was not very good in the outlining. But was fun. The incident that led up to this workshop was very funny.

First i went to the information counter and queued up to ask where can I sign up for the workshop. Then in front of me was this ang moh. So she was also asking about the workshop too so I did not had to ask anything but to follow her. When we reached the place, the person in charge assumed we were together since we came together and we wanted to sign up too. Only then we laughed and we self introduced each other. When I went to collect the dried painting, the person at the door immediately recognised me.

Third stop

National Museum of Singapore

I went to national museum last IMD with Sue Yuen. So I decided to walk in and see if there was any changes. Last year the first thing that greeted me was a towering naked mozart, this year was:

A towering stack of pink army tanks.

The special exhibition this year was Christian Lacriox: the costumier and Verner Panton: The collected works.

The designs were damn cool yet functional. If I have this in my house, I will stay at home everyday lo.

This piece was damn funny. "how to undress in front of your husband" everyone who saw it was rofl.

I did not take any photos for the costumier exhibition because it was so dark and flash was not allowed.

Air con was a welcome but once I step out of the museums, it was so HOT!!!!!!!
