Let me start by by giving you a disclaimer... There are A LOT of pictures on this post.
We went to 2 different pumpkin patches this year. We went to Sauvie Island and Roloff Farms. Yes, the same Roloff Farms that was featured on Little People Big World :) As for decorating, My mom and I found these sets at Target and let me tell you it is the way to go. Don't get me wrong. I love carving pumpkins, but once you finish one, you don't want to have to carve more for your kids. This worked out perfectly.
Fun with Aunt Melinda
Hay ride out to the pumpkins
Don't mind the massive amounts of drool
This year I decided to make the girls' Halloween costumes. This sounds so much more crafty than it actually was. There was the cutest (in my opinion) little girl costume on etsy, but they wanted $44.50! I don't know about you, but I am not willing to spend that much on a costume you are just going to wear for 1 night. Upon further looking, I thought maybe just maybe I can duplicate it. So I did :) Well, my version of the same costume. I made Marley's skirt, and bought Khloe's at a garage sale. Added faces to the tops and embellished with bows. No sewing required. Pretty easy.

This was the original costume I saw online
This is my version, may not be as cute, but I am happy with how they turned out
We started the day off with Halloween pancakes. I just made regular pancakes and used cookie cutters to make them more festive. Khloe was beyond happy that I gave her chocolate chips with her breakfast

Late that afternoon, Jeff and headed to my friend Marnie's house for a Halloween dinner and trick or treating with Charlotte. We had yummy mummy dogs and mac and cheese. It was very festive, and I am so sad I didn't take a picture of the cute mummy dogs.
Then we went trick or treating. Khloe did not fully catch on right away. First when people would open their doors, Khloe would try to walk inside their homes. Then when people would take a piece of candy to give to her, she would just try to grab it out of their hands. However by the end she learned that you had to say "trick-or-treat" then you would get the goods. It was kind of funny. Now I don't know about you, but as a child the ultimate score on Halloween was a full sized candy bar. Growing up I never did luck out enough to get one, but on Marnie's cul-de-sac, Khloe scored not one, not two, but THREE full sized candy bars! We proceeded around the neighborhood and Khloe got more candy than any 2 year old needs.
Happy Halloween!
