Chad, Jack, and I took a day trip to the Art Institute in Chicago and wow was I impressed! The museum has so many world known works that I really did not expect to see there. It was Jacks first trip to a museum and he did so good! Only a few playful screams and funny noises that made people stare, but overall a wonderful day.

Mommy and Me
As many of you know, we are in Chicago this summer for Chad's job. Before I had Jack I knew what I was getting myself into being "a single mom" for the most part. Chad has long work hours and usually doesn't get home until almost midnight most nights. I can't possibly think of a more happy way to spend my day than with Jack. He is so fun. And so irresistibly lovable. But i'd like to share some things about doing it on your own so I can look back and remember (for next year of course).
(1). Its amazing what you can do with one hand.
(2). Plan, plan, and plan some more.
(3). Don't start to make dinner until you know your baby is happy (a burnt chicken breast is no fun).
(4). Bathtime is the cure to all unhappiness.
(5). Savor the moment, it all goes too fast.

Catching Up
For those of you who don't know we have a new addition to our family.
Meet Jack Taylor.
Jack was born February 10, 2010.
He is the most wonderful baby boy any parents could ever ask for.
Here are some of my favorite things about Jack:
- He has the the most beautiful hair that stays perfectly parted and in place all day.
-He LOVES to snuggle mom and dad.
-He has slept through the night since about 9 weeks.
-He sleeps with his bum high in the air.
-He has the cutest nose and cheeks that are kissed all day long.
-He smiles every chance he gets.
-He is getting daddy's long eyelashes.
-His chubby little tummy.
-He is the baby boy I always wanted.

Melanie's 23rd Birthday
This was such a special birthday! Cari took me to lunch and shopping which was so sweet and then we went to ice cream with all the girls. Such a fun day. When I got home Chad took me to a Brazilian restaurant for dinner and after was cake and presents. A very special and memorable day!
For your listening enjoyment, here is Chad singing me happy birthday. There may be a few of you who did not know he could sing (and this could be a little biased) but he has an amazing voice and I look forward to him singing me happy birthday all year :)
Annapolis, Maryland

As many of you probably already know, Chad's brother Ryan took part in RAAM (a bike race across the U.S.) which he did to raise awareness about organ donation. Because we are in Virgina this summer, we were able to go visit him in Maryland which is where the race ended. It was so good to see Ryan, Jared and Tiffany! We had so much fun walking around the bay and visiting the Naval Academy. We are so proud of the the riders as they truly are an inspiration to us.

Chad... Kid in a Candy Store

We visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and I have never seen Chad that excited to see anything before. He took so many pictures and I wish I could post them all because they're really well taken but here are a few. It was a great experience to see all the historic planes and original equipment from the Apollo space missions.
