no A in my two years in RJ

Lots of things happened over these few days. I shall just list them in point form.

1. My marks for Math Paper 1 will be an all time low. I counted that I lost 65 marks after paper.

1b. My Math Paper 2 score might potentially be more than double my paper 1's.

1c. I will be happy to pass Math, like just get a D.

2. Chem paper 3 is probably a fail. Paper 2 should pass. I hope I can get at least a C overall.

3. My house owner in the Physics DRQ saved $26 million dollars by changing the windows of his house from single glazed windows to double glazed ones.

3b. I hope I can really get at least a B for physics! D:

4. Music is confirm + guarantee + chop + warantee a 0.00% percentile and a U grade.
- I probably got lowest in class for prac
- I handed in a superiorly inferior number of techniques.
- My paper 1 score got terminated, so I got 0/40 for that paper
Anw for those of you who don't know, the reason why it was terminated was because my coursework scores had notes in them ): I completely forgot about the post-its I pasted in them like a million months ago. And I wasn't even caught, but I went to own up to Mr Yu, and now I just screwed my own future.

4b. I actually wanted to apply for the MOE Teaching Internship Programme using the prelim grades to teach music! D: My mum scolded me for being so stupid and owning up, but I guess at least now my conscience is clear. And I got my first white slip in my two years.

5. I finally ended my cello teaching job! :D My student's exam was last friday. Sight-reading should do quite well, Aural should get full marks. Pieces started weak but ended well, and scales were a little shaky. Really hope he gets a distinction! :)

5b. Many thanks to Charlotte for supplying the scores and materials I needed for teaching my student.

6. I fell sick last weekend again. I've been falling sick a lot a lot nowadays D:

7. I spent $60 on wednesday buying a set of earphones with deep immersive bass. Its not bad :)

8. I got new sofas! They're really big, made of leather, quite comfty, and have mechanisms which allows the sofa to recline, and best of all they are absolutely free xD Courtesy of Defu Furniture company.

9. I met a friend I haven't seen for a long time today :D

10. Oh this one is freaky..

My floaters got a triple level-up yesterday at noon. I was doing Physics mcq when I suddenly felt a little dizzy. That was when I realized that:
(1) The number of floaters i'm seeing in my eye was like double, triple, quadruple the normal amount.

(2) The mean translational kinetic energy of each floater exponentially increased. They were floating around at like one million times the speed they normally do. Normally they float very slowly, or like they are fixed and move only with my line of vision (like a shadow liddat), but this time they were running around by themselves :O

(3) I saw a second layer of floaters :O Normally my floaters are grey translucent streaks and dots. This time, on top of the normal floaters, I had a second layer containing a million white shiny dots shimmering and moving around as well.
Yeah I was quite freaked out, I just shut my eyes and went to meditate for 10 minutes. When I opened my eyes again, the normal floaters were moving less slowly, and the shiny white ones were less apparent. As of now, things are back to normal, which isn't exactly very normal actually.

10b. I realised that my eyes get bloodshot very easily when I exert energy. Now they are white, but fifteen pushups later they will be red. If I stare at a screen for too long they become bloody as well D:

11. I should go see an eye doctor soon ): [sorry micht! I didn't go to see the other time :X ] Eh but I need to do techniques and mug, I hope my eyes allow me to wait until after A-levels ):

12. This is quite random, but I just recalled that my mum did a 算命 for me like many months ago. I can't remember the content exactly but its somewhere along the lines of:
"You are naturally intelligent and creative, but you will encounter many many setbacks in your life. Your eyes are very fragile; take good care of them or they will be a huge liability in the future. You always promise to change and improve, but it almost never happens, until the age of 36, where you will finally attain true success in your life."

I hope A-levels is not one of the "setbacks" its referring to! I must change! I must work hard! D: And its so long before I become 36! Thats like another 18 years to go, equivalent to the amount of time I have already spent on this planet.

i'm not superman

I have broken the "migraine-only-happens-to-me-once-a-year" curse.

I tried to be superman and and complete my entire compositional portfolio today. I managed to clear the entire Free Compo component and wrote one more technique synopsis by noon, but after that everything just bombed.

Yes you guessed correctly, I suffered another migraine starting from noon, got a fever along with it, threw up twice again (I don't know why, its always two times) and spent the rest of my day in bed.

I just sent an email to Mr Yu and Gooi asking for another extension for the portfolio. Sigh. So now I need to juggle prelims with composing.

I'm much better now, but I'm still physically and mentally drained. Every step I take still sends a throb to my head and I'm wrapped from head to toe to protect me from the elements.

I don't like ponning exams, so I guess I will still go for chem tomorrow. No prizes for guessing what my grade will be. It probably rhymes with our music lecturer's surname.

And I still haven't done math yet. Read through a bit of Differentiation and Integration notes though.

My grandpa just told me off during dinner. Gave me a lecture for 15 minutes and told me to take care of my health and not to jeopardize it for the sake of grades. Wtheck he's the one giving me all the pressure to do better than my sis. Argh.

Okay I think I shall go sleep soon. Sigh. A new curse has begun, its the "I-will-get-migraine-the-day-before-an-exam" curse. It happened to Physics for CTs, I really really really hope and pray that I wouldn't happen for As.

Please let me pull through this.

fml

prelims is in 2 days?

I have officially spent more than 3 weeks on one single technique.

I have 5 more synopsises to write, 3 more techniques to record, 2 more techniques to edit, 1 more technique to compose and notate, plus free compo reflections and need to clean up and arrange all the recordings, scores and drafts.

And I'm only submitting 7 out of 9 items for my portfolio and leaving two of them till after prelims -.-

I bombed my music prac by having a memory lapse and stopping halfway and starting again.
I haven't started math yet.
I haven't started music
I haven't finished chem.
I did a physics summary in one afternoon I don't think I'll do anymore.

And yes prelims is in 2 days.
I cannot complain, I brought this upon myself

You don't give up now. Keep going

you can do this!

okay i'm hecking music. that's rare considering that for all my past exams in RJ i've been hecking everything else for music.

Current review of compo portfolio:

Texture Techniques:
1. Fugue. Done, handing in midi for now. need to record at a later date.
2. Pointillism. Done (i hope..), handing in midi
3. Heterophony. Requires rather major edits. handing in midi.
4. Sound mass. Require some edits. Need to record

Timbre Techniques:
1. Piano and Zheng. Done, need to record
2. Prepared Zheng. 5% in progress -.- (RAWR THIS TECHNIQUE HAS BEEN HAUNTING ME FOR WEEKS. I'LL CONQUER IT ONCE AND FOR ALL)
3. Electroacoustic. Undone. Not planning to do.. yet
4. I-dunno-what-i'm-gonna-do. Undone

Free Compo: Done, i need to fill up performance details in the scores and record it.

All 9 synopsises: UNDONE.

Okay so for now I am just going to salvage whatever I have and hand in 6 techniques + 1 free compo. The synopsises are going to be crazy, especially the Prepared Zheng and my Free Compo cos I need to come up with an additional appendix explaining all the different playing techniques and methods of preparation. Okay but yes comeon, lets finish this.

Its a super huge risk to drag 2 techniques on to after prelims T_T but I think thats my best option now. I don't want to give up the rest of my subjects. Electroacoustic is easy, I can probably finish a good one in one day with a clear mind after prelims. My 4th timbre will be more tricky but lets see how that goes.

I just drafted out my mugging/composing schedule for the remaining 11 days. Come on hongrui, you're not going to bottom the class in math and physics again.
