Bring it on!

End of the term! But today is a super unforgettable day for me.

Teacher's Day celebrations today was quite good. The best part was during the Heroes vs Zeroes part, where 3 female teachers competed with 3 students (involving Andrew and Shangxuan) in a relay, and when the Zeroes were about to win, Mrs Albar struck out and blocked them.

zomg. haha it was really funny. 3 rounds of Heroes vs Zeroes, heroes won all.. any surprise?! Even the quiz round was scripted.. The item after that, the skit was quite disappointing, but overall the celebration was still quite good.

I reached home at around 10:30, and started using the computer. Activities included playing Scrabble online, playing Risk online, and watching random YouTube videos. Started with some really cool cello vids, and then went on to watching Rubik's cube vids.

This was when I started watching a 20x20x20 cube solve, which was completed in 4 hours and fast forwarded at 32x the speed. Zomg! Do not watch this video whatever the case. The consequences are dire..

After using the computer, time was about 1.30 (yes I used for 3 hours) I started cubing again, only to realize that my timing has worsened drastically, and found out the I could not see the right side of my cube clearly. There was some wavy line thingy across the right part of my right eye, and a small part of my vision is blurred and moving rapidly, just like when you look at an object slightly above a flame.

Yes, I was really really scared. I think anyone who suffers the same thing will be too. My vision started giving me a headache, and after finishing some household chores with significant difficulty, I went straight to bed and hope that all will be fine when I wake up.

Crap.. the wavy line still appears in my mind and eyes even when I close my eyes and attempt to sleep. After staying in bed for like 1.5 hours in a desperate attempt to sleep, while constantly getting bugged by that wavy vision, I finally got out of bed. However, this time, my headache has amplified like by 10+ times.

Omg, the pain. It was really ripping my head apart. You cannot imagine it, it was just excruciating. But luckily, the wavy line thing in my eye did go away as I had fervently hoped, so that made me better. Still, the pain was really really bad. Tried everything from medicated oil to looking out in the distance to headache pills to having a hot-water bath and none of them actually worked well. Finally, I just sat down at my reclining sofa and just stared out blankly into space. I cannot close my eyes and sleep; the pain still goes on when I do that. It was a really really painful experience.

Stupid headache. I vomited as a result of it. But I really still cannot do anything and the throbbing pain is still there. While my mum and siblings went out for dinner, I just stayed at home and sat on the sofa again. This time I was really tired, and slept in a semi-conscious state.

I had no appetite for dinner, but still managed to slowly finish my food. The headache got better, and after spending the last hour watching TV with my mum, I started having the courage to stand up, move around and do something.

Did some math (O.o 2 questions only), and then came here to blog.. The headache has gone away like 80% now, but still got 20% throbbing in my mind.

I think this headache was caused by my late night sleeps over the past 3-4 days at around 1-2am. And the trigger was watching that stupid 20x20x20 solve at 32x the speed on youtube. Go watch it, the full 8 minutes, then you'll get what I mean. Don't say I nvr warn you.

Okok now, no more using the computer for over an hour a day unless really needed. That wavy line in my mind is really really scary.

Hope the headache will be gone completely by tmrw.

Omg finally all the fuss is over.

EVCO concert last saturday at Esplanade was good, not as good as the one last year with ex-SCO conductor Hu BingXu, but still, it was good. Chai Xia's Zhongruan playing probably owns any guitarist in RIGE. I might really want a switch in CCA in JC, maybe i might just convert to CO or something, but it still depends on how the CCAs are run in JC. For now, RJCE looks really boring and bleak to me. And yes, I really do love Chinese music too.

Just finished physics cct today, and chem and history last week. Finally can take a breather for like the next 2 days? Before chionging English portfolio again by friday. Oh yeah, and Bayley house managed to retain inter-house chess title again for the second year running (which coincidentally is the second year I participated in interhouse chess competition O.o) Thanks to all my group members and fellow bayleyans.

Sigh, school life seems super meaningless now, can't wait for Sept hols and dmps to come, which also mean my rubik's cube competition (one handed category) and cello exam will happen too.

If you know anyone who does the rubik's cube with one hand under 40 seconds please let me know. =D Its important to know my opponents, as sun tzu said, "知己知彼,百战百胜". I'm not sure if i can cube under that pressure too.. For now i can usually do under 40 seconds, but when i'm nervous or when i'm under pressure.. i can screw up really badly and do like 50+ seconds.

PS: I wanna learn how to play weiqi properly. Its the only chess I don't know how to play so far. Someday when I got time i'm going to learn it.

Oh yes, when I got time. When i got time...

Youth Scrabble

Shall talk a bit of the last 2 days..

Friday:
Quite a short day (lesson-wise), but a super long day for me. PE owns, cos Mr. Loh wasn't here and Mr. Quek took over. After the quick height and weight session, where my reading was 180cm and 55.2kg, we went on to soccer.

And yes, soccer rocks. Right at the very start, we and Faizal played with slick passing, but someone one of us always screw up the finisher (most of the times was me >.<) But then, towards the middle of the game, Faizal took a throw in. As the ball arced high through the air, my 180cm frame outjumped keeper Kenneth Ngoh's hands, and I headed the ball into the goal.

GOAL!! Header!! Haha 2nd time I scored like this in RI (first time was sec 1, but I was only like 160cm)

After school, I had to complete the orchestrating of our RE composition, because Jon Shin just happily went to Germany during this time, and will be back on the 10th when all the fuss dies down. Stayed in the artspace (design centre) PC lab from 1pm to 9.30pm, and the damn thing still wasn't complete. Will be going back on monday.. zzz

SATURDAY
National Youth Scrabble Competition

After winning the National Schools, I haven't touched a single Scrabble set until today.

1st round: Played Woodgrove secondary. Really easy match. I played legitimately and won with a spread of 400++. Kenneth, Xuewen and Renwei just took advantage and spammed illegitimate bingos. Haha, kena scolded by Mr. Austin after that.
Bingo count: 3

2nd round: Played Marsling team 6. Still quite an easy match, but newbie renwei lost. Still won by quite a lot.
Bingo count: 6

3rd round: Played Victoria School, National Schools 2nd place. So its literally a fight between 1st placed and 2nd placed. They had 4 players, so Xuewen sat out. I played their pro-est guy, and I hate myself for forgetting what was SATIRE G. So damn out of practice!!! But still, after being down by 80 points, I had 2 bingos, and then closed the board like crap. No where to place any more tiles, so I won the game by like 39 points.
Haiwei and Renwei lost. Overall: 3-2 victory
Bingo count: 8

4th round: SJI. I got sabotaged to play their strongest guy again, Keith, whom I must admit is a decent player but not an exceptionally strong one. I just had super bad luck. I'm sure after having a rack of TINES, after 5 turns still cannot bingo. Super bad luck, really. Keep drawing random consonants, or stupid vowels like II and UU. When the bag was empty, my 7 tiles on my rack showed a bingo. I was down by 40 points, meaning if I clear, I win. But crap, there wasn't any place to put my BEAVERS. Lost by 13 points, yes I'm really not convinced, my luck was really bad.
Bingo count: 11

Final round: St. Nicks. (My sister's ex school, kenneth's sister's school, Thomas' sister's school) After winning the first 4 rounds 5-0, 4-1, 3-2, 4-1, we came against St. Nicks, the team which me and Kenneth played last year to a 1-4 devastating defeat, dashing our hopes of entering the finals.

We just sat around randomly (Kenneth chose to play Renyue, i wonder why O.o). She reminds me of Cheriel and the other GEP girls in primary school, so talkative >.< My opponent was Virya, not sure of her nationality. Her name certainly doesn't look Singaporean.

I had a small lead at the start, until she played her bingo. I waited quite a long time to get mine, managed to catch up a bit. I hate myself for being so out of practice. I forgot my 2 letters, 3 letters, and stems. Challenged her words like 6-7 times, most of them were 3 letter words, and they were all accepted. Gave her like 15 points free, and in the end I lost by 11 points -.-

Okok, it was a painful loss, but this time I only got myself to blame for not mugging and practicing more. 2nd game I lost in 2 years, first one was the unconvincing loss to Keith from SJI. I manged to beat St. Nicks last year!?! Haiz...

Bingo count: 13
Dang! what an unlucky number.

The 1-4 result from last year was unchanged, this time it was Haiwei who won..

After this morale-diminishing defeat, Xuewen, Kenneth and Renwei (who lost by 200 points to someone who didn't know how to swap tiles) left for home, even though I offered them a free lift when my dad comes later. Surprise surprise, we got 4th. So Haiwei and Me had to act like retards and go up to stage and collect the prizes.

Congrats to St. Nicks for getting 3rd, and thanks to Virya for letting me know that PYA is a word and many more..

Lastly, congrats to the RI sec 1 team who got 1st. You guys gave up your spot to let us sec 4s participate in the nationals, where we got first, so this time we return the favour to you? Haha congrats.

Crap.. I really hate myself. Hopefully I can do better in the Rubik's cube competition (One-handed category) in September if I choose to participate.
