Bring it on!

Its still a really busy week, and next week will be worst...

And for some reason, life really sucks.
- I got a really lousy GPA for progress report 1 of 3.33
- I screwed up my Math CCT with a score of 19/30
- Dennis got 30.5/30 for Math CCT
- The past 3 rehearsals have been really chaotic and useless
- "Heroes" just ended
- There's so much work this week
- There's even more work due next week.
- 4D is 5th from bottom of the Raffles Soccer League
- And most of all, I screwed up my NAPFA.

In sec 1, I had a silver award for NAPFA, but managed to get a gold for sec 2 and 3. Now in sec 4, I failed. Look at my scores for 5 stations:
Sit-ups: A. 47
Shuttle run: A. 10.0sec
Sit and reach: A. 50cm
Standing broad jump: C. 226cm
Chin-ups: F. 0

Aargh! I'm so weak. Perhaps its because I don't work out at all, or that my CCA doesn't allow you to have much training physically.

But still, I'm an optimistic person, and I think there are still things to look forward to : )
- Yay Mr. Sze is coming back on Friday
- Yay I had a 4.0 (my only one) for MEP
- Yay MEP rocks
- Yay my RE has been a great success so far
- Yay I'm going to take the retest for NAPFA in August and bag a gold.
- Yay my mentee is doing well in playing the cello
- Yay I love the cello.
- Yay I'm going to do well in my coming performance Chopin Sonata no. 2 opus 9 transcribed for cello and piano
- Yay there's still "Survivor: Micronesia" to watch
- Yay our RISE concert is going to be really really really good
- Yay our June rise camp after that is going to be even better.
- Yay there are still more than 10 games to the end of the league to pull 4D back up to mid-table
- Yay I'm going to make sure i get at least a 3.6 for progress report 2

Well, I don't really believe in emo-ing. What you get in the end if what you put in. You decide your own outcome, so always look on the bright side of life.

Here's a big happy smile to everyone : )

Wow, this is the first time in like half a year I'm putting up more than 1 post a month.

Yes, my blog has been dead for long, and soon I'll be too. My last post started by saying school life is okay, but now I’m really on the verge of collapsing.

Coming up…
1. English showcase portfolio
2. Chinese project
3. History Assignment
4. English Social Essay
5. Physics CCT
6. Chem CCT
7. HCL COMMON TEST
8. Chem SPA
9. MEP term test
10. Chem OBA on Reaction Kinectics
And trust me, more will come on the list very soon…

Progress report 1 ended with a 3.33, with my only 4.0 coming from MEP :) My Chem got 79%, which is already considered low cos almost everyone in my class got 4.0 and some people like Dennis even got like 99%. I screwed up everything else, notably Physics, English and History.

Many competitions were also held on the past few days: (For some reason, I find it easier to use the cliche assembly tone)

1. Scrabble Competition.
Together with fellow ex-Rosythians and current Rafflesians Kenneth, Xuewen, Haiwei, as well as our last member Thomas who wasn’t a Rosythian, we formed one of the 6 groups to represent RI in the Scrabble competition last Saturday (same day as ORA) and owned the other schools with a total point difference of more than 2500 and a sweet score of 14 wins out of 15 matchs, thus proceeding to the finals in June.

2. Rugby Finals
Held on Monday at the Padang, our Rafflesians fought hard but eventually lost to a better ACS(I) team with a close score of 11-15. Our rugby captain Bryan Koh scored a try, but it was not enough to win, and thus we left the Padang after reaching the finals for the first time in 17 years…

3. RGS squash finals
RGS lost 2-3

4. RI squash finals
RI won 3-2. After falling behind 0-2, we fought back to make the score 1-2. And in the 4th set, we were once again trailing 0 sets to 2, with rafflesian kimwee agaist ACS(I) top player. However, he gritted his teeth and showed true Rafflesian spirit and eventually led to a hard fought victory. A round of applause please.

Go Raffles! And may you bring us the holiday everyone wants so much :)

School life has been okay.. first few weeks of term 2 were super slack, but CCTs and projects (and NAPFA, chin-up gg) all coming up soon, coupled with all the late night RISE rehearsals that ends at 9pm+, and so that's when we die.

Next match of the Raffles league for our class is against 4G, Max's class. Speaking of Max, MEP soccer has been great, childish yes, but fun too. I could still remember the stunning (and a bit lucky) goal i scored on Thursday. It started with me chesting a throw-in from Samuel, turning around and volleying it, resulting the ball hitting the wall and rebounding at a reflected angle slightly greater than the angle of incidence. However, my long legs ensured that I caught the rebound in the air, using the same leg with I took the volley (i.e. my right leg -- my only decent leg) I smacked the ball into the goal, olay-ing the 7-stRA keeper Vincent in the process.

Cool eh?!

Friday's rehearsal was one of the best in the 4 years of RISE history, cos we started with a short run-through of the Britten, followed by a 2.5 hours break for sec 4s while the others do the Arts at the Atrium stuff. Of course, me, Jinghui, and Daniel went to play soccer with all the other pros who had finished their interclass matches also.

It was basically 2B'06 + 4T'08 and one or two random people versus the rest. The game seemed a bit lobsided at the start cos 2B+4T had a whole team of pros like Manish, Tanuj, Yihao, Pranav, Joel, and many many more, but there were a few noobs and some sec 1s on our team. But once the game started, the situation changed.

There was one sec 1, which I really had to applaud. I think he stopped like at least 5 attacks from the other side with his superb defending skills, including spot-on tackles, clearances, and even headers. With him and me on the defense, we were actually 3-1 up (1 goal from JingHui the imba) cos the other team couldn't attack for like a whole half an hour.

Then our keeper start to go up and attack, leaving me to fall back as keeper. Ok fine i screwed up, but the other teams were basically whacking balls towards the goal, and even though some of them were obviously out, they just went "GOOOAALL!!!" and ran away. So the game became like 3-4 even though at least 2 of the goals weren't legitamate.

Then dancer/hocker JingYuan came and joined in the fun also, and he took my role as keeper. Haha so the moment I stepped out and joined the attack, I scored a goal :)

Running free on the left, I received a goal kick from Jing Yuan, and moved swiftly down the wing. Two defenders came after me, and I got pass the first one quite easily. The second guy however was a big sized dude Pranav from 4P, but I did some trick involving the back heel and got past him too. Shooting a cross into the centre, the ball rebounded off someone there, and went back in my direction, so I ran towards it, and shot it past keeper Faizal.

The game was really cool, but I did a high-boot on Yihao (aka Giant) and hit his face. So he laid there in agony while the rest of the people signaled me to go away if I still want my life. So stood there for a while, but still left in the end. However, I still felt quite bad and sent a sms to him shortly after to apologise, and he forgave me :)

For more soccer action, come down to the field next Tuesday and watch 4D trash 4G.
