Bring it on!

Man... I'm like updating once every 2 weeks...zzz

Anyway, we recently had our RISE camp and it was ownage. Based on the survivor theme, the CCA was divided into 4 tribes, mine was white, and I was the shaman, 2nd highest position after the tribe chieftian. The camp was 3 days long, and for every rehearsal, we have an average of 2 games. No pumping, no drills, just plain fun. Beat that.

The trademark of RISE camps are our ownage night games. On the first day, our night game was planned personally by our great friend Trevor. Its called around the world in 3 hours. Information about the whole pwnzorz game can be found here: i-talk-you-listen.blogspot.com, a blog by our dear cellist Jon Shin. Anyway, among the top 3 teams, white team got both 1st and 3rd.

On the second day, our night game was "Gold Rush", planned by the Monitor-for-3-years-in-a-row Kai Cheng. Its a showdown between Trevor + Alumni (yes, the J1s/J2s and people from other schools actually came to join this camp, cos they just couldn't miss out on the fun) against the 4 tribes. Of course, with the NNNAAKUG or aka Kuangnan as Tribe Chief, and me as Shaman, white tribe got 1st again.

We sleep at around 3am every day. The first night was due to incessant chatting with my fellow tribe mates, topics ranging from ghost stories to how big the nostrils of the VJC concert mistress is.

On the second day, I sneaked out of school with the Adriel, David, Kuangnan, Matthew, Nicholas, Xue Qian, Shang Xuan and Ben Chua out to the famous nearby 24-hour roti prata shop at Thompson for supper. Method of going out of school will be strictly kept confidential among the 9 of us.

Anyway, there was an overall camp game, which was to piece back your tribe's flag. The location of each piece will be given as a clue card whenever a tribe wins a game. We got 2/3 of the flag, but sadly the flag could not be completed as the last piece GOT TAKEN BY THE GUITAR GUYS.

It might not sound very convincing here (k fine, i know my english sux), but you will have to be in the camp itself to experience the fun. Ok, got to go now to finish up all the homework..

Finally an update.

Its been really busy. mozART challenge, RISE camp, MEP Camp and tons of holiday homework (I would like to list out all of them here, but really there's so much I can't type them off my head).

Ok, lets fly back to 2 weeks ago. Yes, the heats of the mozART challenge. For those that don't know, its the national music and art competition hosted by RI and gladly organised by our RE group. (I think I mentioned in a post earlier) We had 16 teams of 4 that came to participate, and the heats was divided into 2 days, 8 teams each, 4 on each session.

On the first day, RGS team (1) owned the rest in the buzzer round, with a score of 25 points, and they did pretty well for the written quiz too. RGS team (2) was quite sore about the buzzers, cos they got jacked a few times by pressing the buzzer before the question was read, and thus forfeiting a few chances to answer. They got 18 points. Nan Chiau and Dunman got around 20 i think, tied. Anyway, the top 4 from this day was RGS (1), Nan Chiau, Dunman, and NUS High.

On the second day, Chung Cheng High (main) blew us off our seats. They sent in two teams that totally shocked everyone, especially their team 1. They got 48 points in the buzzer round, and their art written paper was one (or perhaps 3 or 4) notch(es) above the rest. Yeah, they had this guy whose art knowledge is imba. Music was quite lousy, and the only reason I could think of why they got so high is because the other team feeds. What can you expect from Queenstown (-4 points), Telok Kurau Sec and MGS. (And yes, MGS can you people stop giggling 24 hours? Even if you girls don't feel tired, our ears need a break). Another interesting point to note is that one of the Chung Cheng music student (girl) tried to join campus superstar. I saw her on the show just now at 10...

After the written quiz was marked and the scores tabulated, the 8 teams that went through were:
(Not in any order)
1. Chung Cheng High (Main) Team 1
2. Chung Cheng High (Main) Team 2
3. RGS Team 1
4. RGS Team 2
5. Nan Chiau
6. NUS High Team 2
7. Dunman High
8. CHIJ Toa Payoh

Ok. Enough about mozART for now. I've been engaged in the preparing of the RISE camp for the past few days. Really tiring... There was one time where we worked 1 whole day from 10 in the morning to 12 midnight. The MSN mass convo hit like 120 pages on microsoft work. Anyway the planning is done for now, everything is on the right track, just hope things go well. (RISE camps just own)

Houyes, and there was the MEP camp, which just sucks. Compared to our RISE camps, MEP camps are worse than sec 1 orientation. What do you call 2 days of attending workshops and going back home at night without a sleepover? A camp? My ASS. When they gave out survey forms, one of the questions was "What was the biggest takeaway of this camp?" I wrote making new friends. Its the best I can think of, some people just wrote things like the food, which absolutely sucks as well. A packet of biscuit each of teabreak... Packet of food with the rice gooey like dough... I can't believe the camp costs 10 bucks.

There are some nice events too though, and seriously the biggest takeaway was making new friends. I don't know why, in MEP, the number of girls outnumber the guys by like 4 or 5 to 1. Most of the time the RI boys will stick with the guys, which just happen to come from ACS. But they were quite friendly lah, and of course you don't just stick with the guys for the whole camp right, then what is the bloody point? There is a reason what the girls are there for. Haha 4:1

Okay, this is one long post. Yesterday I went to VJC to watch their concert, which involved lots of guest players from RISE and Nanyang too. The programme just owns, Superman March, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest theme song, Schiender's List theme song, Tango por una cabeza (from some movie also) and Tchaikovsky Cech 5. Most people just go for the movie theme songs lah, but people that actually know music will listen out for the ownage tchaikovsky.

Ok.. I shall sign off now. I haven't done my English Blog Assignment yet, no time, cos I just used my only free time so far to blog here, and i think its more worthwhile to blog here than to do the english blog assignment.

:)
