YO

Finally the week of horrendous homework, physics and chem CCT, and Maths TA is over. I kind of screwed up the Physics, Chem is ok, Maths was easy but I was quite careless.

Went for the SNYO (Singapore National Youth Orchestra) concert yesterday. Lots of people I know from there.. deborah, our own RISE members; adriel, jinghui, daniel, xueqian, yu ze, theophilus and yes, ryan. Ex-RISE members; shaggy, rayner, remus, dominic, sam tho, jon lee, zenn, etc. Man... They were very pro, I guess I'll have to practice a lot more if I want to get in. Adriel told me today that they concert standard is somewhat their sight reading standard. WTF.

SYF is really round the corner. Band and CO played for Arts at the Atrium today. Band was good as usual, CO was surprisingly not bad. They actually started training from last year I think july onwards till now. I think they can get a gold this year. But no matter what, String Ensem pwns all. MUAHAHAHAHA.

Philo essay

Haven't posted in a week... There's been so much going around these few days; lots of homework, some dragged over from the holidays, and I also needa set aside time to practise my cello as SYF is coming...

Oh well, I managed to crap 662 words for my philo essay, something which I initially thought was impossible. I had help of course, a guy (i think a RI guy) started a forum on the net regarding the topic, under the name of dennis. I doubt it's any dennis chew or dennis heng that I know of, but rather I think its some people trying to pose as Mr. Dennis Au. I took some valuable infomation from there, and yes, I acknowledged it in my essay. The webiste can be found here: http://www.ephilosopher.com/phpBB_14-action-viewtopic-topic-6732.html

Drats, there's a physics and chem test next week, plus a maths TA. I shall stop here... needa go and mug

holiday homework

Aargh!

I'm screwed. Today is Sunday, and finally I'm starting to work on my holiday homework. So what have I been doing so far? Well, just slacking around, reading, and playing Dota. I've been playing Dota everyday during the hols until I realised that today its time for me to start doing some work (but I improved quite a lot and I think its worth it). The only thing I've done so far is to read the Toto Chan book.

So what do I have?
1. ERP Assignment (yes I know it was given to us long ago but I haven't done it yet)
2. 2 Chinese DuZhe Reports
3. Chemistry I-learning assignment
4. Worksheets from Chem and other subjects
5. Philo essay
6. Cultural Talk thingy

There are also stuff that are due in the near future. Most people have started on them already, but you know me...
7. Chinese Project
8. RE
9. MEP Concert Review

Here are the tests that are coming:
1. Chinese Book test (Wk 1)
2. Physics test (Wk 2)
3. Maths TA on Statistics (Wk 2)

Ok. GG... I need to rush of to complete all these things now so I shall end off here.

Lan

Oh well, I screwed up my piano exam. I forgot how to play some of the scales during the exam, like the G-sharp minor scale in 6ths (staccato). I screwed up the ascending and realised how to play it when I was descending. Sight reading was horrible as usual and I can't sing for nuts so dun talk to me about my aural.

After the piano exam, I had to rush to VJC for RISE rehearsal in under 20 mins, or I'll be out of SYF. My fault actually, I informed Mr. Sze, our conductor about my piano exam quite late, and so he was soo pissed when he found out I cannot attend rehearsal. Anyway, forget it. Just make sure I tell him earlier next time, or even better, there won't be a next time.

RISE outing today ended with only 9 people, and one of which was Kevin, our ex-member. Nevertheless, it was quite fun. I wasn't the noobest in the game anymore like I always used to be. Our vice-chair David took our place. Out of the 4 Dota games we played, he played 3 using Necrolyte and 1 using Sladar, all of which he got pwned. I quote our chairman, Adriel, "Everyone here (referring to the game) is pro except for David." Lol

Of my 4 games, I played Razor, Sandking, Mortred and Magnus. My performance today was actually not bad. In all 4 games, I didn't come last on the score sheet, and my kills are more than or equal to my deaths, something really amazing. The first time I lanned, my scoresheet was 1-31, and in that game I was using Rikimaru, who was supposed to be quite hard to die. >.<

Oh well, enough of slacking. I haven't done a single of my holiday homework yet. It kinda time I start working on it...

Philo

I've been practising my piano a lot lately as my exam is just next Monday. Hope i can pass, thats all I ask for. You know how many scales there are in a grade 8 exam? 127!! And I only started playing them last week. Good job. That's why I will be quite lucky if I pass, let alone get a merit.

Anyway, this week is when we will get back all our horrendous CCTs. My Chinese scored a record low, I just can't believe it. I'm actually losing to Dennis in what's considered one of my best and his worst subject. Maths was okay, but still unsatisfactory.

Oh, i really don't know whats going on in RJC. Yesterday, after our rehearsal at RJC, I was walking to the carpark, passing through the canteen. Guess what I saw, not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 groups of people playing cards there! There were 2 teachers around also. Crap... Its so unfair. How come our cards got confiscated?

Anyway, our holidays would be holidays no more judging on the amount of homework there is, especially Chinese. One book review, 2 magazine review, and the Chinese project. There's also a philo essay, and the question is highly philosophical. Here goes: “Is the statement ‘All steel bars expand when heated’ true?” Dots… I’ll present a quote from my philo teacher, Mr. Dennis Au. “You can use any other font (for the essay) as long as it’s times new roman.” Woah.. What a great range of choices.

Haiz...

For the first time this year, I got sick and stayed at home.

Reason: I played soccer in the rain during a rehearsal break, and then returned to the air-conditioned room to continue rehearsal. That was on wednesday, and surprisingly, I didn't notice anything until around 9am on thursday.

I woke up with a sore throat, which was quite usual as I experience it every morning. This one was just a bit worse. Thus, I didn't suspect anything, and just drank a bit more water. After that, I went to school and had lessons as usual. The first period was okay, but starting the second period, I started feeling sick. I took my temperature and it read 36.8

The condition got worse and I started shivering during lessons. Jian Xiong who was sitting beside me kept asking if I was okay or not. I took my temperature again later and it read 37.4. The temperature for fever is 37.5 , so I was still a breath away.

The last period of the day was a free period, as there was a Bio CCT and I don't take it :) My friends and I thus went to RJC to play cards with Dennis and Joshua, as we had oftenly seen people there do so. After like 3 rounds, a teacher walked up to us and said that cards are banned, with the new rule just implemented not long ago. So the cards are confiscated, but they were not ours anyway. Dennis found them during Raffles Trial earlier that year.

That was on thursday. I had an MC for friday, and I'm fully recovered now. Oh my, of all the fevers that I had gone down with so far, practically all of them was from playing in the rain.
