It's Been Awhile

I was chatting with my girlfriend from Taiwan (Cat) and she had started a blog of her being 'knocked up" and it reminded me that I too had a blog which I haven't written in for like ever!
Well, I've been busy with my twins and when I do get alone time, I really don't feel like sitting at my desk writing my thoughts. I just want to zone out and be like a zombie - watch TV, surf the web, etc.

A lot has happened though in the past year... the whole family traveled to Taiwan and the Philippines for 3 weeks total. We went to visit Ahma & Ahgong (Chiu-grandparents). It was the first time my Dad met them. Oliver and I slept in for the first time!! I woke up one morning and looked at the clock and it read 11:00 a.m.!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! It was great that I slept in but, at that time, I was still breast feeding full time and I was extremely engorged!! Oliver and I also had our engagement photo's taken too. It took an entire day... with every new outfit was a different make up and hair. We had a lot of fun. It's new to Oliver but I've done this kind of photography before so posing for me was natural. :) I'm a poser, I know it, so what?!

The Philippines was great too. We went to Cebu to attend my younger sister Eva's wedding and then to Boracay to just hang.

I'll have to continue ... got to go put Lucas back to bed.

One Step Closer to Coming Home

When I arrived at the NICU reception area, Nurse Lucy was already waiting for me at the sliding door. She said, "Hurry up, we have lots of work to do!" I thought she meant the usual, changing of the diapers, taking their temperatures, measuring of their girths, etc... But as I entered their room I noticed a bed there. They're getting co-bedded today!! I couldn't believe it! How I wished O was there!

Their first reaction to seeing each other again after 6 weeks of being apart? Their hands were all over each other's face, pushing each other apart. They cried and cried... they were not familiar with each other. I picked up Lucas first and held him until he fell asleep before putting him down again and then did the same thing with Amelia but this time, I laid them down facing away from each other. ~sigh~ That did the trick. But within minutes, they were unhappy with the situation again...I forgot, they both love sleeping on their tummy's, so on their tummy's they go. Finally, they are sound asleep again.

When I held onto Lucas with one hand and soothed Amelia in the crib, I suddenly had a flash of what it was going to be like home alone. I'm going to miss the nurses at SMH.

On the other hand, I can't wait to bring them home.

Thanks Everyone!

I haven't written since I have been admitted into the hospital. Check out Daddy's blog for more updates: http://www.oliverdelapaz.blogspot.com/

Thank you to Mommy & Daddy's friends for coming out to visit me and the babies. Your kindness & generosity is very much appreciated! I'm very touched! I have so much support from my family and friends, I feel so loved!!

I can't believe that it's only been 17 days since Lucas & Amelia was born. It's so hard to watch them grow in an incubator and have to schedule holding times with the nurses. I want to be able to cuddle them, touch their skin, breast feed, kiss them. But for now, it's a rush to get to the hospital if Daddy can come home during lunch time to pick me up so I can be there for the 4pm hands-on feeding. I'll have missed the 12pm.

I can't wait to drive again ~ what's with this 6 week period? I feel great now!

The "Real" Definition of Bedrest

I seriously had no idea what bedrest meant until I was given 5 pamphlets of "Antepartum Care at Home program" instructions from the Antepartum care Nurse. I thought that "bedrest" meant taking it easy at home, going for leisure walks, go for leisure swims, and my weekly manicures and pedicures.

I didn't know that I seriously had to "stay-in-bed". Somebody kill me. So I'm not allowd to drive, got it. I can't leave the house unless it's a doctors appointment, got it. I can't do any cleaning around the house or major cooking. No standing on my feet for more then 10 minutes. GOT IT. Which means, Oliver has to be my... dare I say?! Hands and feet?!!

I'm not used to letting go of all this control...but I guess I can get used to living like a Princess for about another month or until the babies are born. Princess for a month...doesn't sound so bad anymore.

That Day Has Cometh

I've been given the order to stop working. . .not bed rest, just stop working.

What am I going to do for 8 weeks?!

Things I can "try" to do:

1. Wash my car (not by me ~ duh)
2. Look for a preggo wedding dress (may not even need one, but will look anyways)
3. Go swimming
4. Try Yoga (I think it's too late for that - I'm stiff as a board)
5. Re-decorate the house
6. ...

Sisters

My sister and her boyfriend took a trip to the Philippines and posted pictures of their trip. There's these pictures of her constantly falling asleep... well, remember my baby sister who has Prader-Willi Syndrome? Well, during her obesity days, she constantly slept after eating and I remembered taking a picture of her while she was sleeping and as she as she heard the camera click and the light of the flash, she woke up and posed immediately just like Eva did... I thought wow, they are sisters after all... just look at the resemblance!!

Grace does look like Eva!!
