I seldom get the chance to talk to my friends and keep them up-to-date with what's going on with my life...
well, this is it. My online journal. Yah, another personal blog, just exactly what the world needs now. Let's be realistic, it's cheaper than overseas calls. Less tiring than novel-like emails.
About Me
Name: celgee Home: Philippines About Me: just read through my entries and you'll get to know me :) See my complete profile
Day 3 The much-awaited Ocean Park trip! My tatay has been looking forward to this - being an avid "Animal-Planet-and-National-Geographic-channel-fan" and pet lover, I would say this would the highlight of my tatay's HK adventure. :)
We headed to Mcdonalds for breakfast first, and waited for the shuttle to pick us up.
After an hour, we finally arrived in Ocean Park, which is located in the Hongkong Island. As expected, there were a lot of tourists, students, kids and parents. I was initially hoping to take my parents to Disneyland as well, but my dad insisted not to as he is not fond of rides (he's scared of heights), and he doesn't think he'd enjoy the Disney mascots at all. [Maybe I can go there with my other friends/cousins/nephews/nieces next time] Anyway, enough of my chit-chat...here are the pictures:
Day 2 We got up early because we will have our half-day city tour today. Together with the other Filipinos who also had the same package, we were picked up by our tour guide in the hotel around 8:30am.
Our 1st Destination - Avenue of Stars Located at the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui

Family bonding - I also have a ceramic plate with our picture like this as a souvenir from HK
Hongkong United Buddy Bear - A Buddy Bear is an individually painted, life-size fibreglass bear sculpture. I only got to know of it's existence when I was sent to Berlin... the Buddy Bear capital :) In 2001, the Buddy Bear ("friendship-bear") was developed by Klaus and Eva Herlitz in cooperation with the sculptor Roman Strobl. During the same year, approximately 350 bears were creatively painted by as many artists to be shown in the city of Berlin for two years.
Jackie Chan's Hand Print
Next Stop - Aberdeen Harbour
In front of the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, a favoured tourist spot. Looking like a floating palace of imperial China, it has attracted 30 million visitor since opening in 1976. Some of the famous diners include Queen Elizabeth II, John Wayne, Tom Cruise, Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li. The place was also featured in many Hong Kong and Hollywood movies.
Next Stop - SHOPPING @ Tsim Sha Tsui, Temple St. and Mongkok road
DAY 1 It's our much-awaited family vacation... For more than a month now, my parents and I have been preparing for this vacation. On the day of our departure, I only slept for 3hrs.. not that I am excited, I arrived home late (1am?) and had to make some last minute checks for my gadgets (my camera's battery, ipod, cellphone, etc.)
We arrived at the NAIA Terminal 2 airport around 6am. [Grouchy - guess who I bumped into? One of your "favorite" former projectmates - a.k.a "nonong" - he will be going to HK for their project's implementation). Anyway, it was a blessing he was there at least I didn't have to ask a stranger to take our picture. :)
In the plane, the flight attendant saw me taking a picture of my mom and dad, and offered to our picture. (PAL attendants are really very nice and friendly!) It's my mom and dad's first time to ride a plane and I have no regrets choosing PAL as they really had a pleasant time on board the plane. My dad has a fear of heights - and I was surprised when he asked to be seated in the window seat. Guess he's not that afraid anymore? :) We arrived in Hongkong at 10am, and was able to unpack our stuff in the hotel around 12noon. We just rested for a few minutes before heading out for lunch. We had lunch in a chinese (of course?!) restaurant in Yau Ma Tei, which was just a few blocks away from our hotel.
Right after lunch, we took the MTR from Yau Ma Tei to Tsim Sha Tsui, a place known for its high-end shops. :)From Tsim Sha Tsui, we went to the Star Ferry Terminal. We took the Star Ferry from Kowloon to Central District Hongkong (HK Island). We spent some time in the IFC Mall for a quick afternoon snack, and then headed to the bus terminal [15C] to Peak Tram. The view from the Victoria Peak is breathtaking. :)
I seldom watch cartoons (or at least I limit it to Disney or Pixar films). There is one cartoon flick that I love watching, not because it's hilarious like Kung Fu Panda, but because of the moral story behind it. I heart "Meet the Robinsons". I have seen the movie for 4 times already (tonight, I am seeing it for the 5th time), and everytime it reaches the part that plays the song - 'Little Wonders', I get a bit sentimental.
Thia movie has a strong-"keep-moving-forward"-message and a touching ending. The movie ends with a quote from Walt Disney: "Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths".
let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder don't you know the hardest part is over let it in, let your clarity define you in the end we will only just remember how it feels
our lives are made in these small hours these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate time falls away, but these small hours, these small hours still remain
let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you let it shine until you feel it all around you and i don't mind if it's me you need to turn to we?ll get by, it's the heart that really matters in the end
our lives are made in these small hours these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate time falls away, but these small hours, these small hours still remain
all of my regret will wash away some how but i can not forget the way i feel right now
in these small hours these little wonders these twists & turns of fate these twists & turns of fate time falls away but these small hours these small hours, still remain, still remain these little wonders these twists & turns of fate time falls away but these small hours these little wonders still remain
As promised, here's the continuation of my "scanning-spree". :) Let's start!
My very 1st birthday. My dad looks funky in his shades.
This one is from my 2nd birthday. Hanging on to some of my favorite gifts.
Almost all girls had this fancy umbrella - one you can't use in the rain. :) I just turned 3yrs old in this picture.
So, let's go to the talent portion... hehehe. This is a showcase of what I have been doing during my nursery/kindergarten years. :)
1) Next Top Model All of classmates can be seen here in gowns, but my aunts bought my this 3-pc outfit, with a hat and matching gloves. Dare to be different?
2) Ballroom Dancer My first dance with Dolphy/Tony Ferrer (hahahaha).
3) Lead singer of a girl-group. Meet the real spice girls. Hahahaha.
4) Back-up Dancer for a noontime show The outfit will look good for one segment in Wowowee.
Inspired by my house-cleaning (actually, I am really planning to buy a scanner to have a soft-copy of all my important documents in preparation for the big leap and also to have a copy of all my favorite childhood photos), I have finally bought myself an all-in-one photo printer (printer-scanner-copier).
As soon as I arrived home from the mall, I tried out my new scanner (hence the title of this blog). Here are some of the pictures that made me smile today ;)
what's the story? It's my 2nd birthday, and I am not yet even dressed for it. (I look like a boy here) Anyway, I have been crying before this picture was taken because I wanted to get a gift. I stopped crying after getting what I want (such a brat!)
[L-R] Kuya Alex, me, Ate Lea, Kuya Erwin, Ate Kathy and Ate Lesil
I finally got dressed up for the party ;)
Plus, here's a proof that I do not really use my pinky/little finger
I'll show some of my (kiddie) talents next time, it's getting late already - have to head to bed now.
I spent my morning doing some house cleaning (don't laugh, it's true). I re-arranged our plants in the 3rd floor, and moved 2 of our big jars - now my back hurts a bit. :( Aside from that, I cleaned-up my cabinets and threw away some stuff I have never used in years. Along with the sorting, I had a chance to check on some of my albums. Guess what I found, as the title of this entry might have said - it's some of my pictures that were taken during my early years in school.
I was amazed to see my id from nursery... that I decided not to take out the picture and show it here (sooo glad to have found it).
