| End-of-Summer Sportsfest |
Summer is almost over - and luckily, despite our crazy schedule our project made an effort to have a (big) group activity. Actually it's a yearly thing - but our team missed the summer getaway last June 2, 2007 because of an implementation.
Together with our other projectmates, we assembled in front of the office at 7am. Some people made some last minute shopping for chips, had bio-breaks and yosi-break before we headed for the bus. There were 2 50-seater buses that were rented for the event. Some brought their own cars and drove 3-4hrs from Manila to Bataan.
We arrived in Waterfront - Morong, Bataan around noon. After checking our rooms and unpacking some stuff, we headed back to the designated gazeboo for lunch.

After having lunch, we were grouped into 4 teams - Green, Yellow, Orange and Blue. We were identified based on the color of the caps we were wearing. I was in the green team together with Roj, Jeff, Vincent, Gob, Mervin, Pat, Rommel, David, Tina, Ronalyn, Angie and a few more folks I could not remember right now.
The 1st game was the flag making & cheering competition. Followed by the Hoolah game and Beach volleyball. I was "volunteered" by my teammates to join the volleyball team since no one else wanted to join. Together with Tina, Angie and Mervin - we formed the "Berdee Volleyball Team" hahahaha. Everyone was very competitive - imagine competing against members of the Firm's volleyball team and the project's volleyball team. Though we placed 3rd, it wasn't bad esp. since it was a fun game and hearing your teammates and friends cheer for you made more exciting.
After a few more games, we had a short break for merienda and of course some pictures. :)

The next game that I joined was the Chinese Jump Rope competition. It was a bit tough competing against the tallest/highest (physically and role/position wise) member of our project. For her it was just like a walk in the park hehe... :) Of all the games that we played, my favorite was the Tug-of-War. I almost cried laughing seeing the guys pull the rope with all their strength - with matching facial expressions as if they were suffering from severe stomach ache. If we were to give an award for the Most Valuable Player for this game, it would have gone to Leo Estrada. ;) [That even after seeing the pictures, he still made me cry laughing]
Here are a few more pictures after the games:
