No Barriers

I seldom get the chance to talk to my friends and keep them up-to-date with what's going on with my life... well, this is it. My online journal. Yah, another personal blog,just exactly what the world needs now. Let's be realistic, it's cheaper than overseas calls. Less tiring than novel-like emails.

Whew!
It's the longest and most nerve wracking 4 hours that I could remember.

I don't want to fail this - not only because I prepared hard for it, but because the company I work for sponsored this. In a way, they trusted me that I can handle this. (Aside from the PMP Targets for FY08, which I think is the primary reason I am in this situation right now hehe) I don't want to fail them. I don't know if I could go back in the office and say that I failed. Honestly, the pressure would not have been that high if I paid for this exam and if no one knew I took this exam. No wonder I did not feel any pressure when I took the IELTS exam last year hehe. :)

I left a bottle of water, some crackers and candies in the locker - in case I would feel hungry during the exam. I have already inquired about the location of the wash room in case I need to freshen up (in case I get too sleepy or if I feel like peeing). None of those things mattered - I never got the chance to leave my seat. I prayed real hard before I clicked on the "End Exam" button - kept on telling myself, "I did what I could", "I tried my best and spent the past 5 days reviewing for this" (luckily Monday is a holiday and I was on leave for Tuesday & Wednesday...but still attended meetings and worked for a few hours in the evenings).

This is it. I have cliked on the "End Exam" button. There's no turning back now. The screen turned white. All white. And after a minute, I saw some writings on the screen. The message that could make or break my day.

"Congratulations, you have passed the PMP exam..."

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I am waiting
... for my beloved friends to pay their debts. [Guys, still remember me???]
... for my CO.
... for a pleasant surprise - something that has to do with "mi amor". ;) And I hope it happens before the May deadline that Yas & Amana have set.
... for a vacation (with my mom and friends) in HK.
... for my birthday. Heard the pilot release will start 2 days my bday, and it is expected to go for 3 days. :)
... to get swept off my feet.
... for 7 more weddings (Anne, Xmas, Abiey, Sheng, Davis, Yas, Allan)
... for my OZ stamp (of approval hahaha).

Nu ni nu ni nu. Right now, I am waiting for my eyes to get tired and sleepy. ;)

Angelica, R.N.
The results of the December 2007 Nursing Board Exams came out last February 21, and I am sooo happy that my cousin, Angelica passed it. It is a bit bitter sweet, as we all had wished that Tita Lita was with us to celebrate this. I know most of my aunts shed a few tears (of joy) esp. Tita Beng who has been taking care of Jelika for the past years. My dad waited for it in the newspapers as well, and made sure that he got a copy of the results that came out in the Manila Bulletin. Tita Lita would have been sooo proud (and very emotional) just like the rest of us, for her daughter's achievement, but I know she has always been guiding Jelika all throughout. Tita Lita is always with all of us in spirit, and I am sure she is very very pleased to see that Angelica nailed the exam. :)

February Team Building
For this month, the team decided to go for dinner and bowling as our team building activity. And as expected, Grace and I were not able to leave on time due to a presentation that we had to give which ended around 7:30pm. We finally got to Megamall at 9pm (after the presentation, I still had to respond to some mails)... We had dinner at pizza hut, and sad to say, bowling was only until 10pm. :( Don had to leave after dinner as he had to head to Pampanga, and Redge also needed to go home early. The team building suddenly became a girls night out. :) Grace, An, Anna, May, Dimples, Ren and I went to Greenbelt, Makati. We spent several minutes in Timezone and then watched "Untraceable". ;)

BELOW: Pics while waiting for dinner to be served.

[Offbeat Comedy] Juno
Ellen Page got nominated in this year's Acadamy Awards - Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for the movie Juno. Plus, Juno also won several awards such as :
- 2008 BAFTA Film Award - Best Screenplay - Original
- Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards - Best Comedy Movie, Best Writer
- 2007 Screen Actors Guild Awards - Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role (Ellen Page)

Hmm... got me curious to see what the movie was about. I just heard it's about teenage pregnancy, so I looked it up. ;)

When a teenage girl is faced with an unexpected pregnancy, she enlists the aid of her best friend in finding the unborn child a suitable home in this coming-of-age comedy drama from Thank You for Smoking director Jason Reitman. Juno may seem wise beyond her years, but after sleeping with classmate Bleeker, the pregnant teen quickly realizes how little she really knows about life. Thankfully, Juno has been blessed with parents who trust their daughter's judgment, and a best friend named Leah, who's always willing to help out in a pinch. With a little help from Leah, Juno soon comes into contact with Mark and Vanessa -- an affluent suburban couple who have been unable to conceive a child of their own. Mark and Vanessa seem like they would make great parents, and are eager to adopt Juno's unborn child. Now, as adolescent Juno is faced with a series of very adult decisions, she will draw on the support of her family and friends in order to discover who she truly is, and discover that one bad choice can have a lifetime of consequences. ;)

Jp and I watched it, and found the movie entertaining - unique, sharp and witty . Juno MacGuff is a sarcastic, cynical, tomboyish teen. I love almost all of her lines. Thinking of it still makes me laugh. :)

Rollo: Well, well... If it isn't MacGuff the crime dog! Back for another test?
Juno MacGuff: I think the last one was defective. The plus sign looked more like a division sign. I remain unconvinced.
[Rollo pulls the bathroom key out of reach]
Rollo: This is your third test today, Mama Bear. Your eggo is preggo, no doubt about it.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Leah: Yo Yo Yiggady Yo.
Juno MacGuff: I'm at suicide risk.
Leah: Juno?
Juno MacGuff: No, it's Morgan Freeman. Do you have any bones that need collecting?
Leah: Only the one in my pants...
Juno MacGuff: I'm pregnant.
Leah: What? Honest to blog?
Juno MacGuff: Yeah. Yeah, it's Bleekers.
Leah: It's probably just a food baby. Did you have a big lunch?
Juno MacGuff: No, this is not a food baby all right? I've taken like three pregnancy tests, and I'm forshizz up the spout.
Leah: How did you even generate enough pee for three pregnancy tests? That's amazing...
Juno MacGuff: I don't know, I drank like, ten tons of Sunny D... Anyway dude, I'm telling you I'm pregnant and you're acting shockingly caviler.
Leah: Is this for real? Like, for real for real?
Juno MacGuff: Unfortunately, yes.
Leah: Oh my GOD. Oh shit! Phuket, Thailand!
Juno MacGuff: There we go. That was kind of the emotion that I was searching for on the first take.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Vanessa Loring: Your parents are probably wondering where you are.
Juno MacGuff: Nah... I mean, I'm already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans could I get into?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Vanessa Loring: You think you're really going to do this?
Juno MacGuff: Yea, if I could just have the thing and give it to you now, I totally would. But I'm guessing it looks probably like a sea monkey right now and we should let it get a little cuter.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Juno MacGuff: Yeah, I'm a legend. You know, they call me the cautionary whale.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Juno MacGuff: As far as boyfriends go, Paulie Bleeker is totally boss. He is the cheese to my macaroni.

Happy Barneyday
It's Andrea Dimalanta-Enano's 1st bday. Her mom and dad were my classmates from 1st yr to 4th yr when I was still in college. Andrea (oh, I am sure she'll have a nice nickname when she grows up "Andy") is one of my many godchildren (I think she's the 16th). Anyway, her dad sent us the invitations several weeks back, and of course we had to be there. :) Me? Miss a party? :) As much as possible I try my best not to miss a friend's party.

Jp and I arrived the Quezon City Sports club around 11am. Jp kept on teasing me - since I looked like an ube pastillas in my light purple polo shirt. Haha... I totally forgot about that the party's theme is Barney, and to my surprise most of the guests, including Andrea and her parents wore purple. Different Shades of Purple. :)

1st 2008 Wedding
Rina and Carlo's wedding is the first one that I have attended for 2008. I think I have 7 other friends who are getting married this year, or at least that's what I have counted so far. :) Yas and I went straight to the reception after the untoward incident that happened earlier during the day. I think we were the 1st guests who arrived at the Manila Polo Club. Raymund and Mike joined us several minutes after, and being the certified photoholics, it didn't take too much time before flashes came out from our trusted point-and-shoot cameras.

After determining the table assigned to us (table 12), we headed to the photo booth. Rina and Carlo rented a photo booth -- wow! I felt my face beam with happiness knowing that we can strike as may poses as we can and get instant photos from the wedding. :) We immediately tried it (Mike, Raymund, Yas and I). 2 copies were printed out. The 1st one went to the photo book for the newlyweds, and we kept the other half. I am quite excited to download copies of the pictures from their site. Still waiting for it to get uploaded... :)
The picture taking didn't stop there - of course we had to continue it as soon as we arrived in our designated table. :)

After the program, we all headed back to the photo booth for a couple more shots (hahahahaha). I'll grab the pics and post them here once it's available. :)
Last shots for the night? See below --

[Date Movie] 27 Dresses
Before watching the movie, I tried to count the number of times I was given a role in a wedding. I have been a flower girl twice, a secondary sponsor thrice, a bridesmaid twice, and the Maid of Honor twice. A total of 9 dresses/gowns, 7 of which I still have in my cabinet. :) Of couse I had to give away the flower girl gowns to my little nieces. I think they used it as a school presentation costume. :) I wonder how many other gowns I would get to wear before I get to "THE" gown. :)

Yas, Tenten, Mike, Jp and I watched this feel-good romantic comedy. The storyline is a bit predictable. Typical story - "Always the bridesmaid never the bride"...but I would say it is still worth watching. I still like P.S. I love you more as it is closer to reality. Maybe fairytale endings still come true... I don't know. Uh oh.. am I starting to be a pessimist? tsk. tsk. tsk.

Anyway, Here are some nice lines from the movie that I liked :)

Kevin: [in Jane's apartment, with her showing off her dresses as she pulls out a loud-looking Gone With The Wind dress] What is that?
Jane: [holding the dress up to herself] Theme wedding!
Kevin: What was the theme? Humiliation?

--------------
Kevin: Love is patient, love is kind, love is slowly going out of your mind

--------------
Jane: I feel like I just found out that my favorite love song was written about a sandwich.

Full Trailer below. Enjoy!
