Back from Beijing



Rina and I have just gone through an Amazing-Race-like-trip-to-Beijing. We left Shanghai last Thursday (Nov 11) and took the train (soft-sleeper) to Beijing. We were already in the train station at 7pm. The train was really nice. We didn't have a hard time sleeping. If I am not mistaken, I think I slept for more than 10hours in the train (that's the longest sleep time I had here in Shanghai).


Nov 12, 6:30am. . . Time to rise and shine!!! I am already in Beijing. It was cold outside. . the weather was fine. It was a good day to go around Beijing. Rina and I then went to the Chongwenmen hotel to get ready for our Beijing Day 1 adventure. (Special thanks to Neo who helped us book our tickets and hotel resevations!).

of course our trip to Beijing will not be complete if Rina and I didn't go shopping. . . we did go shopping. Every night.. for all 3 days we were in Beijing! :)

Zoo time!
Rina and I have been planning to go to the zoo for days. We were supposed to go there yesterday, unfortunately, it rained. :( So, we spent the entire morning watching Princess Lulu .

When I looked over the window this morning I was so glad to see the sun. It's time to go to the zoo. I have been looking forward to this day...you know why? Because I have always wanted to see a panda eversince I was young. We'll it party influenced by the anime, Ranma. (Remember that his dad turns into a Panda, Mr. Genma Saotome?)

Oh well, after a few hours of walking ang picture taking, it's finally time to meet the panda...


And to my dismay, the panda was sleeping. :( Too bad.

Working from Home?
After office hours, there would be nights when we really had to continue working. Late night calls, and most of the time requiring netmeeting. And since it's sometimes boring to just stay in our own rooms, we would sometimes just hang-out in Rina's room. (Good thing she has a hub, and all of us can go online).

I'd say our group is well represented, Paolo and Rina are from Tech Management, Arvin is a DBA and I am from the D&M Team. :) So, should there be an incident, all 4 of us can hop on a call and work on an issue together. Ha-ha..

Another fun thing about this get-together is that after doing work or attending meetings, all 4 of us would be so busy chatting with our love ones in Manila. :)
