My little Hayden. Some days are magical and some days are long, but mostly magical. :)
This is her 4th of July outfit that she's excited to wear when it is actually the 4th of July. She is very patriotic and "loves her land America!"

Now that the weather is starting to heat up, we can do summer things, like swimming at Seven Peaks water park! This was our first day going and Hayden was jumping up and down until we actually got in the water. She LOVES it. It really is fun. We've already been a few times and we're excited to spend the summer there.

This next pictures brings up an interesting topic in our household right now: to nap or not to nap? It seems lately that when Hayden naps during the day she WILL NOT go to sleep until 10:30pm or later, even if we put her in bed by 8 pm. She'll dilly dally forever and stall until we lose our patience. Those days that she doesn't nap she seems to fall asleep a lot easier. So it seems like an easy fix, right? She just doesn't need naps anymore. But what if I need nap time? So I'm trying to transition from nap time to "quiet time" during the day. We'll see how that goes.

Last week we were able to witness the marriage of one of Carl's longtime family friends. They thought they were actual cousins for a good part of their lives. Everything about it was beautiful. EVERYTHING. Even the dessert from the luncheon....
Don't mind Hayden's hair in this picture. I promise we brush it. Sometimes.
Sarah and Brandon got married in the SLC Temple and we were lucky enough to be invited to the sealing. It was beautiful. Congrats to them.
Jeff and Becky even watched Hayden for us so we could go in. I'm glad she could spend time with them :)
Thanks, guys!
She really did have a good time with them, even if it doesn't look like it. They have cats and drums at their house. Why wouldn't that be a good time?
While at the reception, Hayden met her long lost best friend, Ella. They were destined to meet. I only wish they lived closer so they could play all the time. (She is the niece of the bride, so practically family to us. :) )
The reception took place in a green house type building, with plants alllll around. These two spent their entire time looking for fairies in said plants. It was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Hayden is such a sweetie. I feel very blessed to have her in our lives for soooo many reasons and I am so lucky to get to be her mom, even though sometimes I don't feel like I'm very good at it. Here's a story:
The other night it started thundering so being the type of family that gets very excited about thunderstorms, Hayden ran into the front room to get a better look out the window. The next thing we know we hear a loud thump and Hayden started getting her panicked voice so we went to check and in the process of trying to open the window blinds, she had knocked over two plants I was taking care of for a friend that was out of town. (Sorry, Wendy.)
Dirt had spilled all over the floor and of course my first reaction was a bit of frustration. But that didn't last long when my 3 year old started saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll clean it up. It was all my fault. I'm sorry. It was all my fault." Over and over again. Break my heart. So she got the vacuum cleaner and cleaned up the mess she had made with little help from me. I was so impressed with her at this moment. It was very sweet.

How can you not smile at this face?
