Here's the Plan

As of today I am 32 wks and 5 days. We are so excited for the next bundle of joy that will be joining our family in December. We are painting and getting things set up and ready and it's so fun. Hayden is just as excited for baby sis, so that makes me feel a little better about how she will react once baby is here, even though I'm sure we will have some issues. Doesn't everyone when a new sibling enters the scene? I guess we'll find out.

So, at my 20 wk ultrasound we got to see baby and everything is great with her, however we discovered that I have Placenta Previa, which means the placenta covers the opening of the cervix. In most cases, it usually corrects itself as the uterus gets bigger, so the doc wanted to check me again at 30 wks to see my progression. Unfortunately, it did not move enough to be able to have a safe, normal delivery. But fortunately it isn't completely covering the cervix, so it's just considered a low lying placenta. However, since it didn't move enough, I am scheduled for a c-section. Not the way I would want it, but it definitely has lots of pros, right?
So as of now, baby girl has a birth date planned for December 21. I have a due date of December 30, but they schedule the c-section a little earlier to avoid the chance of me going into labor naturally, which could be a little dangerous. It's nice knowing exactly when we are scheduled because now we can plan things, like mom and dad coming, for example. Since it's the 21st, I should be coming home from the hospital on Christmas Eve! Hooray! I can spend Christmas in my home with my family and new baby. I always joked that I didn't care when baby came as long as I could be home on Christmas Eve. haha So this works out nicely.
We truly are blessed in so many ways. I'm so excited to meet this little girl!

This is her at 30 wks 5 days

Now, only 6 weeks to go!

Halloweenie

It was Halloween. If you didn't know that than I am sorry. :) We had a great time around these parts.
One of the best things is visiting the pumpkin patch. Hayden and I went a few times because she LOOOOVES rolling around in the corn. And the animals. And the maze. Anyway, she loves it so we went a bunch.

The hayride was fun too!
One of my favorite things this year was taking Hayden to try on scary Halloween masks. It was soooo funny to me and she loved it. Good times.

Hahahahaha

Carl's work had their annual Halloween party. It's always fun!

This tank had a real life tarantula in it. If you wanted candy you had to stick your hand in and get it. And Hayden did it! She's so brave.

She was in a costume contest. She may not have won, but she sure was cute :)

Our ward had a party too! It's Red Riding Hood, Evil Carl and Cinderella. Hayden's face is pretty funny in this.

Our pumpkins! We grew these ourselves. So fun! Next year I'll have to remember to plant them a little earlier so they can be orange when we carve them. Although the green/orange mixture was pretty cool.

Scarrrryyyyyy!!

Carl got to take Hayden Trick or treating this year while I stayed home to pass out candy. They had a great time and Hayden scored lots of loot.

She sure is enjoying that pixie stick.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

5k Fun Run for Jacob

We had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a 5k fun run for a sweet little boy named Jacob and his family. Just recently 6 year old Jacob was diagnosed with leukemia. Obviously you never want to hear of something like this. The local high school track coach, who happens to be neighbors with us and this sweet family, set up a 5k fun run in Jacob's name, with all the proceeds going to this amazing family to help with medical needs. There was a great turn out and I feel so privileged to have been a part of this race. Even though I came in last. Hey, I'm pregnant!

Before the race started. It was 30 degrees. Freezing!

Carl ran the whole thing, so he ended up waiting a little while for us, but when we got close, Hayden jumped out of the stroller and ran with him to the finish line. I should say that in the beginning of the race Hayden ran a ton too! she was excited, but quickly got tired and cold! So in the stroller she went, until the end. :)

GO GO GO!!

When we crossed the line, it was so cool to see Jacob and his amazing family waiting.

I know this is such a hard time for them, but I hope they know, (and I'm sure they do) that we are all rooting and praying for them.

We're Getting There

Oh boy, the dreaded *ahem* I mean highly anticipated belly pictures. I mean, everyone is anticipating these pictures right?! Right?!!!

Sadly, I don't know the timeline of these pictures but I can guess about what they are. So let's see....

Not sure....about 28 weeks

I think 28 weeks and 2 days

This is about 30 weeks +.....

I love love love being pregnant, even though there are some things that aren't so fun about it and you might not believe me. But I love it. It's just a cool feeling.
But I love the end result more. Only 8 weeks to go!

First Dentist Appointment

Hayden had her first dentist appointment and she passed with flying colors!

She was so excited to go and she sat perfectly still and did everything Dr. Jones asked.
I was so proud of her. Let's hope that every appointment can go as smoothly as the first! :)

Ohhhhhhhh Sweet Child of Mine

I just wanted to write a little about this sweet girl. Not a lot. Just a little.

I'm realizing my time is getting short with just Hayden/Mommy time and in a way I'm a little bummed. But in many more ways I'm so excited to have another little girl joining our family to share stories and make up with. Seriously, I share my make up with Hayden. True story.

Anyway, I LOVE my time I share with Hayden. I love her little munchkin voice and her ability to self entertain. I love that she loves being a "little mommy" to her dolls. It gives me hope she will be the best little helper when #2 comes along.

She makes me laugh, a lot, and we have a good time together.

Even though it won't be just the two of us anymore, I know there are going to be so many fun times ahead.
It's not good to write about these things when you are pregnant. I get a bit emotional.
I love you, sweet girl!

Grotto Falls

Ahhhhh, it is officially fall. BUT, I'm not wishing away this amazing weather we have been having. 80's and sunny and expected to be like that for the next week at least. Beautiful. I am excited for the fall and winter, but the warm weather is oh so nice. So our little family decided to venture out and take advantage of the beautiful weather and the beautiful scenery that is in our own back yard.

We took a drive up Payson Canyon and hiked the little trail up to Grotto Falls. The leaves are starting to change colors, and we love it!

Once we got to the trail we noticed there are tons of these little fuzzy caterpillars.

They're pretty cute.

To get to the falls, we have to cross several little bridges.
Hayden was a pro. Ella? Not so much but she figured it out.

We made it!

We decided to take a dip with our feet, but holy cow, that water was fa-reeeezing!

Don't Hayden and Ella look so happy to be there?

These trees seriously look pink when walking by them.
We drove up the Nebo loop and admired the scenery. I wish wish wish this picture did it justice.

We even stopped at an overlook to eat some sandwiches, but quickly jetted out of there due to bees that wouldn't leave us alone. I didn't want my husband puffing up like a marshmallow man just so I could see Utah Lake from on top of a mountain.
It was such a nice outing. I am always amazed at how beautiful it is around these parts. And to just think, the colors of the mountains will only get better in the the next couple of weeks. :)

Trafalga

Last weekend we were bored and on a whim decided to drive up to the Trafalga in Lehi for a good time. And boy was it ever a good time :) In my book, Hayden wins for being the coolest kid in the universe.
Since I am the preggo one, I am limited to the amount of rides I can actually go on. But that's okay. Watching Hayden's face is just as good or maybe even better than actually riding these things. Here's Hayd and Carl on the go carts.

Hayden looks like she's hanging on for dear life here on the pirate ship, but believe me when I say she did put her hands in the air once. So what if it was only for about .25 seconds, at least she did it! haha

The oh so fun airplane ride. She did this a couple times and finally had the chance to sit in the front seat and shoot the pretend gun at all of us innocent bystanders. She's a natural.

Daddy took one for the team with the bumper boats. Hayden really wanted to ride it but neither one of us wanted to get wet and trust me, we saw everyone getting off those things completely drenched. So Carl convinced himself that he's a fun dad and hopped on with Hayd. It was pretty hilarious. Kids are ruthless when it comes to squirt guns. (the steering wheel has a water shooter in case you didn't get that.)

Yep, they were pretty wet when they got off, but not as bad as they could have been. Hallelujah for that.

And our favorite ride of the day goes to the "froggy ride". When we first got to Trafalga, this was the first ride Hayden saw and she wanted to ride it. We sat in line and the more she watched it go up and down and heard the kids screaming on it, the more she doubted her desire to actually want to ride it until she finally chickened out and said no. We were cool with that. We moved on. Fast forward through all the other rides and it was getting close to quitting time when she decided she did want to try the "froggy ride". So we got in line again. But this time she did it, and it was one of the greatest moments of our life. She got hesitantly on the ride, and just before it started her face turned to sheer panic. We thought she was going to freak. I was even in the process of telling her she could get off, but it was too late and up she went, panic stricken and all. But on the first drop, her face went from pure distraught to complete excitement. She loved it. Every second of it. So much so that she rode it 2 or 3 more times, I can't even remember. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. We are pretty proud of her for not freaking out and sticking through.
Here she is after the first couple of drops.

And here is a video of her on her 2nd or 3rd go around.
It was awesome.

So thank you, Trafalga, for letting us enjoy our day with your kiddie rides.

On a completely random side note, we have pumpkins growing in our back yard. This is our pumpkin patch.

And here is one of the pumkins. Still small, but growing none the less. I am very excited about this.
Very.

My Girl is Growing Up

Hayden started Pre-School!!

I may have shed a few tears the first couple of days I dropped her off, but I am so excited for her to meet new friends and learn new things.

Here she is with her teacher, Miss Nicole, her daughter, and Lincoln.

I love my little...excuse me...BIG girl.
