It's a Wonderful Life

Hooray! It's time for everyone to hear about how I loved Christmas this year. Not only is it a wonderful time of year, but it was Hayden's first Christmas and that made it extra special.

But first, a little shout out to my loving hubby. Today we celebrate 4 years of marriage. I am so lucky to be married to such an amazing guy. We have grown together so much over the last 4 years and have so many fun memories. I really do think the world of him and I know he feels the same about me. Plus, we have a pretty dang cute baby and I blame that all on him!:) It's wonderful to know that through all the ups and downs in life, I have someone by my side the whole time, keeping me company. I love you, Carl! Here's to an eternity more of marriage bliss!

Now, about Christmas.

We were originally planning on driving up to Washington to be with Carl's parents on Christmas, but thanks to the numerous amounts of winter storms and closed roads, we weren't able to go. We were pretty bummed about it, but decided to make the best out of it. We had a delicious ham dinner,(thanks Mom and Dad) on Christmas Eve, read Luke 2 with Hayden and off she went to dream of sugarplum fairies. It was so much fun to wake up to her usual silliness and help her open her presents on her first Christmas morning. She didn't help for too long. Once she opened the first of her toys she was content to play with just those, so Carl and I had fun opening them for her. We both had bought gifts for her and didn't tell each other what we got her, to make it a little more fun. She got so many fun gifts from Grandma and Grandpa, and aunts and uncles, and we are so grateful for them and their thoughtfulness. We love you all.Even Ella got in on the fun!
Christmas really is better when you have little kids around to see them enjoy it, even though Hayden is still so young, I love watching her play with her new toys. She couldn't wait to see what came in the mail.

It really is a season for giving and being with the ones you love. Even though we couldn't be with family, we were grateful for great friends to take us in and keep us company. Thanks, Amylyn and Andy for being our "family" on Christmas! We love you guys!

Yea for Carl!

I've got some great news: Carl got a new job working as a staffing and administrative assistant at BYU! This is a big deal for us and we are really excited about this opportunity. He is getting some more experience under his belt to further his career in HR and we feel very blessed with this chance for him to expand his horizon. He starts the end of December.
It's a bitter sweet time in a couple ways:

#1. We have to stay in Utah for a little bit longer, but I think we'll be okay:) At least this way Mom and Dad have a place to stay when they come down for BYU games.

#2. Carl has to say goodbye to where he works now. We have been very blessed with that job as well and everything it provided for us. Not to mention he works with great people.

But I am so happy that Carl is moving on up and he is excited to start.

Good job, Carl. I'm so proud of you!

To A New Week

This last week was a pretty crazy one in our household. It's never a good sign when your baby is throwing up on a Monday, because then it snowballs into a week long sick fest. At least that is how we have found it to be in our family.

So yea, last Monday Hayden went to bed at her normal time and all was well, until I went in to check on her a little bit later to find she had thrown up in her bed and was curled up on the other side of her crib trying to sleep. Poor thing. So she had a rough few hours after that trying to feel better and keep her bottle down, but she finally fell asleep, watching her daddy save the world on his xbox. My poor little girl, but luckily she is feeling better and she is a happy baby again.

So the next couple of days went normal but then BOOM, Carl wakes up in the wee hours of Thursday morning sick sick sick! After 8 hours of running back and forth to the bathroom and having bad stomach cramps, we decided to go to the doctor. This was a little rough for us because as you know, doctors usually want to draw your blood when you are sick and Carl doesn't handle that too well. But he made it, after a little hyperventilating, but we still got through the blood test only to find his white blood cell count high, so off we go to get a CT to make sure it's not appendicitis. After the CT, we find out the appendix is fine, but his gall bladder seems to be the problem and we needed to go to the ER to get it out. After a few hours in the ER, an ultrasound and another hyperventilating blood test, we are sent home. The ER doctor didn't feel like she had enough proof to take the gall bladder out, so Carl is scheduled for one more test to make sure his gall bladder is functioning properly. If it isn't working, then it's out of here, if it is.....well, I guess we'll see what happens next. My poor hubby. I just want him to feel better. At the moment he is doing fine, but he is still kind of blah. Poor thing. We we supposed to be flying to Seattle Thursday night to hang out with my parents and Carl had an interview with a company up in Tacoma Friday morning, but sadly we missed the flight. Luckily there will be plenty of opportunities to go up there and hopefully more chances to interview. I just want a healthy hubby. Get better, Carl!

Two down, one more to go. I was waiting and waiting for my turn to come with the sickness, but luckily, it still hasn't hit me yet, knock on wood.

Some good did come out of this sad week. We were able to get our Christmas stuff out and up. I love it.Hayden was plain exhausted after decorating the tree. She passed out right in front of it!
This is our Christmas village. Carl's family always did one growing up, and I think it is really fun and cute.
HOHOHO, Merry Christmas! It's Santa's little helper.
Special Delivery!
It actually snowed today and Hayden had such a good time watching the snow fall from the window. What a sweetie!

May this week be healthier than last! Cheers!
