28 Apr 2010 : Lactation Room

PL requested to use inhouse clinic for expressing her breastmilk via email last night.
The owner responded her email early in the morning. It, indeed, resolved the breastmilk bottle feeding issue. Another 2 weeks, PL would be back in the work force.
These 2 days, PL was trying to follow the timing as if she was working. It is pretty torturing for little CY since he got used to the previous not-rushing morning. Worse still, we woke up late this morning.
The timing would be just in time if everything was smooth.

19 Apr 2010 : Another 5 days

Another 5 days marked the 28 days that little CM came into this world.
On the same day, PL could finally be released from the confinement. However, some people had 40-day confinement. Guess PL still needed to watch out her diet.
We were gathering information on the fullmoon package. Look like there were not many choices.

05 Apr 2010 : Slipped out

PL informed confinement lady that she went out for a while when little CM was taking his bath.
Submitted the corrected project to faculty office and drove back. Picked up a tiger coin bank for little CY on her way back.

12 Apr 2010 : Corrections

PL was still confused on what the panel requested during the presentation.
With those slight corrections, it was said to be major correction. Meanwhile, a coursemate was supposed to change his topic title. But, she did not hear it was a major correction. Perhaps, she missed out the comments because she only arrived at 11.30am, instead of staying from the beginning of the presentation.
Anyhow, she started to doubt on the local uni quality.

p/s : Just received an email in the afternoon on the details. At least, there was information although it was pretty late.

10 Apr 2010 : Termites Attack

This morning, CC exclaimed that there were termites in the store room. And he was carrying a helmet & washed those whitish things off. Nothing that became termites breeding area shall be stored in any corner of the room. It might cause future attacks !

There were various types of termites.

1. Dampwood Termites
- usually live in damp, dying wood or in houses with leaking plumbing that keeps the wood wet.
Prevention :
To avoid Dampwood termites, make sure water drains away from your house and keep damp wood away from your home.

2. Drywood Termite
- colonies are usually found in dry wood and they do not require moisture or contact with the soil.
Prevention :
  • Make sure firewood and scrap wood is stored away from your house.
  • Seal all cracks and crevices around the outside of your home.

3. Formosans
- live in huge underground colonies, and build mud nests inside the walls of a building. They can also live in boats and buildings.
Prevention :
To avoid Formosan termites, make sure water drains away from your house and keep damp wood away from your home.

4. Subterranean termites
- need contact with the soil to survive. They live in underground colonies or in wet areas aboveground. They build tunnels to reach food and every spring, groups of reproductive termites fly off to start new colonies.
Prevention :
  • Don’t let water pool around your home's foundation. Termites like that!
  • Never leave wood scraps in the yard for them to snack on.

Hmmm... not sure which types that found in the store room. Could be recent moist weather as well. And the store room was stuffed with boxes and unused materials.

Time to do a thorough cleaning. And, we might need to contact the pest control expert.

06 Apr 2010 : 10 days

CM came into this world for 10 days.
PL got used to the bored confinement period. Another 18 days to go.
Though the confinement lady would be here for another 18 days, PL would continue to watch out for her diet for another week or so.
The only concern to get back to work force was the availability of nursing room.
