23 Dec 2009 : HK Day 4 - Heading back
We explored the hotel garden and surrounding prior leaving.
We checked in earlier to find that we were unable to get to level 5 of the airport for 许留山 dessert. CC bought the Popeye snack for CY and a bowl of 豆花for PL to satisfy her crave for dessert.
We touched down at 6pm. Woodland point was damn congested and the vehicles were lined up till Kranji MRT station. Thus, we made a detour to 2nd link. The traffic was smooth and we reached home at around 8pm.

22 Dec 2009 : HK Day 3 - Disneyland
Since there was no room available for earlier check-in, we left our luggages with the hotel and made our way to Disneyland. It was convenient with the shuttle bus transferring the hotel guests to Disneyland every 10 minutes. The journey took only 5 minutes and we were in the Disneyland bus station. The MTR station was located just beside the bus station. 5-minute walk was needed before we arrived at the main entrance. We were given 3 tickets (Mickey, Minnie & Donald) and 3 pairs of hologram paper spectables.
The first thing we did, as suggested by forum and some experienced tourists, we queued up to take photos with Mickey & Minnie in their winter clothing. Little CY was not afraid of the cartoon characters. One toddler did cry when Mickey & Minnie wanted to take photo with her. The queue took about 30 minutes. And, Mickey and Minnie suddenly kissed little CY on his cheeks when we were just about to leave. It was indeed a great memory for little CY, but too fast to take the photo.
We did not take photos with other characters. Little CY wanted to take photo with Donald Duck but he dropped the idea after lining up for a while.
We took the main street train, followed by having early lunch at Tomorrow Land. The duck rice was delicious ! Little CY was pretty full with the long hot dog he had earlier but did have several spoons of the rice. After the lunch, we tried the Orbitron ride and also the Autopia electric car. Little CY was commenting that the rides were slow. *sigh* It was slow that PL could join. If not, it might be too risky for CY's little brother.
We caught the The Golden Mickeys at 1.45pm, with little CY sound asleep throughout the stage show. We then proceed to the garden in front of the castle for the 3.30pm "Let it Snow" Christmas Parade. We were early that we had a great view by facing the castle. Little CY enjoyed the parade and kept on pointing on different characters.
After the parade, it was time to line up for the "Festival of the Lion King" in Adventureland. Little CY did not show much interest but we managed to persuade him. In fact, it was not suitable for kids with the presentation. A few toddlers and babies were crying and their parents left the show in the 1st 15 minutes. Little CY was amazed by the zebra che che and koko gave him five. And he was asking why the performers playing with fire. *sigh* I told him it was not safe for kids to play with fire.
After the show, we went back to hotel to take shower and rest for a while. Little CY was glued to the tv with Disney channel and we finally found an advertisement slot to switch off the tv. If not, we might miss the subsequent planned intineraries.
We had our quick dinner in the park upon arrival. It was still early for the firework at 9pm that we decided to make our way to the Mad Hatter Tea Cups. Surprisingly, most of the rides were only 5-10 minute waiting time. Little CY was fascinated with the Cups ride which made us dizzy. And, we also tried the "It's small world Christmas" in Fantasyland.
We thought little CY might like the Cinderella Courasel but his daddy failed to get him on the ride when they were 4th at the queue. Our last ride was the "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" where we sat inside the honey boat.
With CY's sleepy head, we found a place (a small space on the pavement) to wait for the firework. Just before the firework started, little CY dozed off. He did not wake up till we were back in hotel !
We missed the boat ride in Adventureland which might be interesting. Nevertheless, this Disneyland trip was meant for little CY. Comparing with Disney World in Florida, this Disneyland was in fact 1/4 of those attractions and events in Disney World. It was sufficient to cater for small kids but not so interesting for those who have visited Disney World which needed 1 day to finish one theme park.

21 Dec 2009 : HK Day 2 - Kowloon / Mong Kok / Central / Peak
Day 2 was started with a bright morning. 3 of us took an earlier shower at 6.30am. We walked down the street to look for something to fill our stomach. We found one 茶餐厅that caught our eyes. We tried the typical HK breakfast set. It did not look nice from the photos but tasted right for our hungry stomach. Only the bread was too dry but little CY liked them. This time, we only ordered 2 sets, just right for us.
After the breakfast, we looked at the map and headed to walled kowloon city park. PL did a survey and knew the sculpture and landscape was attractive. We spent one hour there before taking MTR to Mong Kok. A glance of the Mong Kok from the overhead bridge did not look interesting to us. We stopped by for releasing our "waste" and decided to head towards New Town Plaza.
New Town Plaza ? Hehe... not a common tourist attraction but little CY might like it. There was a Snoopy's World. Big enough for a 3-year old to spend an hour or so there. He was, in fact attracted to the playground and the school bus. We had a decent lunch in Crystal Jade restaurant. The dumplings and Ramen were so good, but pretty pricy.
After the hearty lunch, we took the MTR to Central, 中环. Wow ! We were amazed by the crowd and traffic when we stepped out from the MTR station. It was too crowded and one could touch each other shoulder by walking along the pavement ! In addition, the air was not fresh and PL felt suffocated. We escaped to the MTR station and decided to head towards exit J2 to Peak Tram Station.
We strolled down the street to the Peak Tram Station. There were many tall buildings but also some interesting building and landscape along the street. The walk took about 15 minutes, following the signboard. However, it could be tiring since the walk includes some climb up of hills. We were on top of the peak at around 2pm. We had a snack at Burger King. And, to our surprise, little CY selected combo meal 3 - a cheese burger with bacon, a French fries and a carbonated drink. He pulled out the bacon and vegetable and had the burger with its beef and cheese.
Again, little CY spent much time at the playground. Hmmm... A suggestion to the tourism bodies - build a playground at any tourist spots. It attracted most of the kids and parents could also take a rest. PL snapped many photos of the scenic habour from the top of the HK. We waited till the sunset and darken to get a bird eyes' view of the HK. It was indeed one of the best nice scene of the world. It did remind us of the scene from the top of Empire State But we did not spend our evening on top of it years back.
We then came down from the hill at 8pm with little CY dozed off on his daddy's shoulder. CC kept on complaining he was carrying a koala bear to travel. Little CY could doze off on his daddy's shoulder at anytime at any places, as long as he felt sleepy.
Little CY was awoke when we reached the hotel, but lazed on the bed for a while before we all called the day off. Our dinner ? We had it at 香港地 before we went up to the Peak Tower for the spectacular view of the habour & Kowloon.
