hmmm... PL was moved to a new seat since they wanted to have same section sitting at the same corner. The only difference was the orientation. But, PL somehow did not like the printer to be nearer.

24 Jul 2008 : Tiles & mosaic

Homogeneous tiles were laid at the side with PL's simple design. The kitchen table top was installed, as well as the kitchen floor tiles were laid. For the full height tiles at the small compartment, due to limited stock, we agreed to change the beigh tiles with decor to white color with the same decor.

PL was not happy with the white pvc floor trap being placed on top of one of the brown tiles ! If it was on the beigh floor tile, it would not be so obvious. The contractor did an easy job without diverting the floor trap to the side. It could be done merely by a T ! She would like to seek explaination from the contractor on the purpose of these 2 floor traps.

22 Jul 2008 : Slower progress

They were doing the mould for table top. And the contractor was pulling the copper pipe and tubing for the air conditioner at the same time.

19 Jul 2008 : Gutter & drainage

The gutter was almost done, pending other work to complete the subsequent installation. One worker was busy installing the drainage system when we arrived.

CC decided to put on tiles on the small corner between the wash basin, toilet, kitchen & dining area. We chose the white color tiles to enable the matching of the planned 3 sides decor tiles surronding the table top of the wash basin.

The renovation did cause land contamination. See below : Little CY slept throughout the journey till we headed home. He was fusing about when we were seated in Lavender. Thus, we decided to pack our dinner.

Kind of settling down. So far, no one chased PL away from her nest.

15 Jul 2008 : Yahoo

This morning, PL read about the "Leave it or Take it" offer for Yahoo by Microsoft. It made her remember her late brother, Hong.
Hong was the only business-oriented sibling among them. Even when he was little, he started to show his "talent".
Still recall it was when PL was standard 4 and Hong was standard 2, Hong's classmates came to see PL to get some bookmarks. PL was wondering and asked," Why not you get from Hong ?"
The little boy said, " He is selling to us, not giving to us for free !" *sigh*
After trying on different business, selling sport equipment, sport apparels, t-shirts and others, he finally settled down with computer hardware. He opened a shop named Yahoo. Well, it was registered under Malaysian ROC. They allowed this years back without considering on the copyright. A few people approached Hong to sell the company for the sake of "Yahoo" but he refused to let go.
It was his hardwork and efforts for years. We believed his gf (now, our sister) would carry on and get it running.

13 Jul 2008 : Stepping stone

PL finally found a nursery that selling the garden stepping stones that she would like to have for the small garden. It was a pleasant trip to select from the collection.
However, the 8 pieces left 6 pieces because CC broke 2 pieces while transferring them !!!! Of course, any broken pieces even at edge were very eye sore and "pantang" to have in a new house. So, the instruction was : Throw away. Here went PL's RM30 too ! And also the pleasant mood of getting the desired pieces.

10 Jul 2008 : Electrical work

Luckily, CC was on leave. He realized that one of the switches location was nearly pulled wrongly. PL was surprised that the electrician was wearing PPE. Ha.. !
Last few days, she just found out that the worker who drilled the kitchen wall used a damaged socket without earthing ! (Yeah.. we knew.. it was not our work place...)

04 Jul 2008 : At last......The wall was down...

We arrived at AH at around 9 am. The gate was still closed.
Our neighbour was just back from grocery shopping and spotted us. She invited us to visit her house to have a look on their decor & renovation. Another auntie joined in and discussed on the garden tiles.... bla bla..bla.. non stop. The uncle staying 2 house adjacent to us, was reading newspaper at his porch. We were invited to visit his house too.. So, there we went..visted 2 houses before the truck arrived to load those stones, sand & cement.
PL was complaining those aunties' voice still humming in her ears even after half an hour. ;p
In the afternoon, we made an appointment with the wireman. It was amazed that the kitchen wall was down ! It was pretty fast...
