Today, it was raining when PL was just about to step out from her work place.
The rain started to pour when she was half way along the Seelong route. The lightning was scary in the sense that it striked many places. Suddenly, she found that something was amiss. There was those loud knocking sounds on the car roof, widescreen and the back of the car. At first, she thought they were those small stones that splashed by the truck in front.
After a few second, she noticed the "stones" would break into small pieces and some became water !
It was ice !!!!

15 Jun 2008 : Close encounter
This was the first time little CY went so near to CK, his cousin. We had been putting our eyes on little CY because he was rather rough sometimes.

13 Jun 2008 : Early
PL needed to adjust her time schedule.
Her office hour was now 8.30am - 5.45pm. Thus, she could wake up a little bit later (as long as little CY would not kick her or hit her to wake up). However, it was kind of late when she arrived home because of traffic congestion. It took at least 45 minutes to travel back. Hope, the distance would be shorterned after moving to AH.
This weekend was Father's day. We planned to celebrate it with dad (little CY's paternal grandfather). We did not follow those commerlized trend but rather treated this celebration as a family gathering.

09 Jun 2008 : GRC...
Ha... PL was involved in insurance audit. It reminded her what had happened last few years when she first involved in insurance audit. Well, it did help her to learn up lots of requirements from zero. And, this new plant was not ready and some systems were yet to be set up.
PL met her old colleague. We were in his car to the Indian restaurant (Ikkiana?) for lunch. The food was not bad.
More to tell......in near future...

05 Jun 2008 : 3rd day without badge
Today, both CC & PL were not working.
Morning
Met up with Kenny at Ah Ye Kopitiam. Had a great chat till 10.15am before we headed to AH. The contractors had not arrived yet even we had opened all the gate and doors. Therefore, we drove around the housing area to check on our neighbourhood. We found a contractor planting grass at one of our neighbour's newly renovated house that we got a chance to peep in.
It was almost 11pm when the 1st contractor arrived. He quoated us on the tiles, mosaic, piping, electrical work and garden work. 2nd contractor arrived for the plaster ceiling while the 3rd was the last to arrived for laminating film measurement & quotation.
Afternoon
We had our lunch at Golden Rain again. Without little CY, we were free to choose from the menu. The pineapple rolls were not bad. Most of the food suited our taste buds, as well as CY's so far. After going to management office to check for some details, PL suggested to goto Tebrau City. PL found that more toys in Toy "R" us Singapore were on sale. Thus, we left with empty hands. We spent more time in Harris, browsing on books and magazines.
Evening
We had a quick dinner and pick CY at his bb sitter's place. PL slept early since tomorrow would be her 1st day reporting to work in new company.

03 Jun 2008 : 1st day w/o scan in
It was a sunny day.
PL read some news and forum threads before she changed to go out. She went for an appointment by following the map provided.
It was indeed a good impression upon entering to the lobby. She forgot to ask if they engaged a ID to design the lobby for them. At the both corners of front portion, it was placed with several chairs and coffee tables. The chairs were those designer's piece of work with metal net as the arm and back support with black seating cushion. The cafeteria was located at the left side (looking from the entrance) of the lobby, partitioned up by glass panels. Well, the wall was painted in red and white, and you could imagine having meals in Lavender.
While waiting, PL noticed that the opposite was the plant that most of her ex-colleagues were leaving for. It was not easy to find the way then.
Lunch was at Sedap Corner with Mr V. He was doing good by taking care of pharmaceutical outlets as HR manager. PL was late for the lunch and the worse was she left her handphone at home. Thus, she rushed back to pick it up.
The afternoon was spent browsing books/ DVD/VCD in MPH & Popular in City Square. As usual, she grabbed a book and some DVD/VCD for little CY. Without any traffic congestion, she arrived home just in time to prepare the dinner.
The evening was spent with little CY on his Aqua Doodles and DVD before we both dozed off.

02 Jun 2008 : The D-day
Today, it was PL's last day in this company she has been working for years. She decided to pursue her new phase of career path elsewhere.
The farewell email was attached with the blast of the past. She recieved many responses that put a smile or grin on her face.
Both Belinda & BL were here to have final passdown, besides bidding goodbye. The afternoon was slotted with the interview for new ETS and we finally found the suitable candidate.
The funny part was the exit interview whereby N just requested PL to fill in the form, instead of a formal exit interview. The form starts with a simple reason of leaving, followed by a tick on "yes" or "no" for those items such as salary, safety, cafeteria operations (what the heck ? Should PL put in everyone was scared of food poisoning?), etc. The last row was something like"How do you think that the company can improve on the working environment ?"
PL's answer : Enhance employees' skill and knowledge as much as possible since the attrition rate was so high. Errr... Attrition rate was ~ 3 % every month, 30 % for every year, thus basically, every 3 years, we were working with a new team. Anyhow, it was like a training house and less skillful employees over the years. Was it a specific reason ? No, it was definitely a common reason.
Look at the exit interview, it was not treated seriously and the data was not actually analyzed to strive for operation excellence.
However, it was an excitement to face the new challenge that was an unknown to PL. Most people hoped it was he / she that packed and left. Remembered one said, " Happy that you can leave this place." One day, you would have the opportunity too.
Do not worry, be happy !
