The star maker says, "It ain't so bad" The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says, "Everybody look down! Its all in your mind!"
So yesterday i was doing attachment at the speech therapy department. Basically they do a whole lot of stuff like helping ppl (mostly babies and kids and stroke patients) to swollow, teach ppl to pronounce and talk and to correct behavioral problems.
As we all know english teachers teach english right. They teach pronounciation and stuff. But Speech Therapist do not do that. They teach kids who cannot pronounce due to the inabilty to put their oral parts in the right place to utter a word properly. And behavioral problems could be like the kid (young young young) do not look at others when others are talking and stuff. Not looking is a serious case as they do not learn how to use their lips to speak.
Today, i did a more laconic department. The physio therapy department. haha but they still do lots of talking. As the name implies, basically the therapist there do stuff such as solving pains in the body (not due to cuts and bruises) but due to weakness or muscles, injury, bad poisture habits, etc. So they diagnose the problem and provide a set of exercise for their patients to practice. Its more a holistic care department cause the main bulk of the recover comes from the everyday 10minutes exercise the patients have to perform. The physicials just teach and guide. They do see a variety of patients, ranging from healthy people that are there due to injury or bad poisture (shoulders, etc) to diseased patients. Mostly diseased patients. These patients are badgered from diseases that cause their neurovascular functions to spoil (mostly and when these functions spoil, certain parts of their body malfunction as the brain no longer registers that part till the patient recovers) or their skeletal muscles to die or whatever.
Hm, these diseased kids are so poor thing. There's this indian boy whos really socialble and active but he has his disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, or DMD in short. This diseases causes the body to disregard their muscles and thus these muscles die and fatty tissues are placed in place. So over time they lose muscle cells, first from the leg, then pelvis, then all the way up. They die when the heart or lung loses muscles and thus have no strength to sustain respiration.
Sad. Yeah cause they attend rehab just to prolong death. Infact by around 8 most of them are wheelchair bound. Most in singapore die by 15-20. sigh.
Uncurable currently
And i learnt that forzen shoulder is also an uncurable condition. Muslces around ure shoulder just automatically disintegrate for 2 years. Then it'll just to grow back again. lol so rehab just helps a little.
OVERALL, PHYSIO THERAPY is really fun, for me that is. But i'll still explore to find other areas. Maybe its fun cause today there's someone else attaching and she's like a 2nd year student so she was like telling me stuff all the time. haha
Oh i went to the hydro physio rehab. Its a electrically heated swimming pool for patients to do their rehab. haha but i didn't swim though i brought my swimming stuff.
GOODNIGHT.
TMR IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT.

KOREA DAY 2
DAY 2
ring ring! 7am! Time to wake up! (haha sounds like the intro of a primary school compo) Ate some porridge for breakfast which was kinda chinese-y tasting. Then went to see a dead volcano, the climb to the top was suprisingly refreshing and the weather's less chilly today. Okay nothing exciting at the top, its a crater. There's lots of people there, and lots of school kids. (prolly some excursion)
the rest of the day was filled with more sight seeing and blah - teddy bear museum, some rock cum seaview which da chang jing was scened and an animal farm.
Tried the famous black pig (i think its a boare but the ppl here calls it black pig). The pork meat is greyish in colour, darker than normal, crunchier than normal and has more flavour than normal. Nice :)
that was my first nice korean meal.
Had an ultra awesome dinner!! For 40 SGD, we had 24 dishes of seafood! Mostly fresh, raw and alive except the prawn and crabs. The oysters, shashimi (the assortment of raw fishes) and crab were exceptionally sweet and just nice!. The rest were nice but kinda weird tasting haha. And like 40 percent of the food were still moving! The sea worms (eeeee) taste like shit(really). Oh its my first time eating live abalones! We were entitled one each! they'll move if you poke them! Lol and i gave a miss on the live octopus (eeee)
thats about today. Haha
oh and i came into a self conclusion:
90% of the teens here have bangs, =.=
oh and koreans look like nerds, and not like how they are postulated in movies. haha. This makes some girls look kinda cute and me, the most handsome guy there! Hahahaha
food food
LIVE ABALONES
Shashimi!
Ultra large bear at the teddy bear musuem.
This was where "da chang jing" was kinda filmed. Nice scene
rabbits at the farm. ( i like my camera )
Feeding the fat black pig. Which taste kinda good.
hahaha i can be a korean superstar! or hollywood (i prefer)
JEJU ISLAND IS FAMOUS FOR ORANGES! jeju sounds like che ju right? the chinese name for orange

haha but anyway i survived the attachment from 11pm to 8am! (yeah thats why i'm blogging right) lol
And i backed out from extracting my wisdom tooth cause its really dam pain! the last time i took it out i bled for like 20 hours! arghh
During the attachment... a few interesting things happened. But the hype only came around 7am when i was about to leave.
Okay so for starters, i watched a 70++ years old man die. okay cause his cancer had spread so secretly the doctors will try and provide him with a comfortable death. I used secretly cause they tell their family members that they'll try and save him though they know its not really feasible. They would aggressively try and save him only if the guy was like in his prime, say 20-40 years of age?
Hm, then there's this really interesting case - a man drank a bottle of insecticide. By the time he came into the resusitation room, he was hyperventilating like siao and the smell of insecticide from his mouth could be sniffed at least 10 meters away. The doctors attending to him wore suits like they were gonna meet some alien or like he had some deadly disease. While the nurses, who were just wearing N95 masks (i have no idea whyyyyy) have to leave the isolation room every 5 mins cause the scent from his mouth is apparently dangerous.
There were a few others but this 2 were the bomb.
And so.... away from hospitals, i came across this really funny statement online so i'm putting it here.
haha no offense.
What countries are good for?
poland : strongest people in the world
america: laziest and fattest people
canada: beer drinking o yaaaa lol
germany: beer drinking also lol
russia: crazy armyyy
iraq: terrorists.
brazil:greatest soccer team and fighters
sweden: blondssssss
SINGAPORE: ??? (there isn't a singapore so i'm not sure, provide me with suggestions haha)
and there's more but some are really offensive. haha
alright :D
this song's kinda cute though it doesn't make sense to me.

KOREA DAY 1
I wrote all these in my hp during the trip so it could be kinda anyhow.
and seriously
Please imagine a scene of me typing this into my handphone, in the dark, my fingers frozen and body shivering.
ITS FREAKING COLD THERE.
Motive of visit: family bonding, eat eat eat, shop alittle, make a snow angel, sight seeing and learn their culture
duration: 6 days korea, 3 days shang hai
I'll post one day at a time.
----------------------------------
First day.
Flight. The feeling of having wind under your legs is exhilerating and refreshing. We don't get to fly every now and then aye?
Took the plane at 12.55am, jinghao, weiloong, bingxun and polyn (not sure how to spell) sent me off. After transitting at Shang Hai, i reached Jeju Island, Korea, at roughly... 11am singapore timing. Oh btw, the time difference is that its an hour faster here.
Met my tour guide and then went to visit some tourists attractions. Jeju island was formally under water many years ago, but now it has surfaced. It has a few volcanos on the island. This explains for the weird black rocks that surrounding the island, those were hardened lava. Firstly, i went to see this rock that looks like a dragon. Afterwhich, was spent cycling around the coast of Jeju Island. Fun! Though i was freezing!
We then went to this 'mysterious road'. Given its name, i'll have to explain - it looks upward sloping, but its actually downwards haha. I tried to testify against it by walking, putting a water bottle, spilling water and sitting in the tour bus that's switched off. But it all flowed or moved towards the upward slope that's actually downward sloping. And i'm still FREEZING. Good thing we went to eat hot steamy gingseng herbal chicken later. okay, on day 1 i was really under prepared for the weather. Its around 6 degrees and long johns + polo shirt + sweater = die! (from the cold that is)
Spent the night walking around the shopping districts.
I ate raw sea cucumber, (killed on the spot!), which was really hard and tasteless! Lol unlike the dried brown ones we normally eat in Singapore.
Oh! And my tourguide cannot talk english!!! Argh, but she can talk chinese, cantonese, korean, hokkien and one more. Forgot about it. Haha
PICTURES!
TCC. Shades from BX, Scarf from me
Roadside Store in Korea
At the sea, where we saw that dragon head thingy. We were eating Raw sea cucumber (yes the blacky stuff), and drinking sake.
That's the dragon thingy, adjacent to my head. Right
And when we went cycling, i took this picture. i like it
