H1N1

Disclaimer: The things you are about to read is not completely thought out by me. I'm merely writing on what my principal (whom i feel is a very wise man) said. The bio bio stuffs are from me.

H1N1.

The current H1N1 epidemic is titled "Swine Flu" because i think it originated from a pig?
Anyway first things first. H1N1 is a type of flu with the H1 virus strand and the N1 virus strand. How did they happen to integrate with one another?
Well, its by a process called "Antigenic Shift" by which 2 different strands of virus combine to form one bigger strand of virus. So i'm guessing its called swine flu cause... just nice the Pig got N1 virus then the H1 go in then mix mix mix = H1N1(swine flu version).

Yes the above is boring and brain draining. Here comes the more interesting part. I feel that the government has taken a very holistic approach to prevent any further spreading of the Flu.
Just to further enlighten you guys, the Spanish Flu during the 1918 is also a H1N1 type virus and just so happens to be something like Swine Flu. Infact it started of as a very weak virus like swine flu, but due to various mutations, it evolved to become an unstoppable virus which killed estimated 50-100 million people in the world till it burned itself out.
The problem was everyone thought it was weak and didn't bother to take much precautions. (and also the technology then kinda sucks)
Thus governments all over the globe have learnt from past mistakes and are currently taking extreme measures just incase the swine flu mutates and become some ultra deadly thing.
So don't complain over such trival matters such as having temperature takings everyday, etc.

Today's been quite good. :)
went for some videography workshop and learnt nothing much since i've already some knowledge on videography. I wanted to learn how to edit and not how to video. lol
Anyway my prelims are coming and for the next week i'll try not to come online except friday,sat,sunday. I might blog, through my phone but i can't read the chat box.
My previous plan to only come online with days starting with " T " wasn't really helpful cause i thought the " T " days were Tuesday, Thursday and Tomorrow. lol

its already 12.10am! i'm supposed to sleep but i still have 2 application questions for bio, regarding cloning and sequencing DNA.
Nevertheless, i'm gonna blog. (see how much i appreciate my readers :) )

Last night, i slept at around 4am. Unable to sleep. lol
Thus, i figured i wouldn't be much awake at school today so i took the day off.
Anyway i was feeling all heavy headed when i woke up.
Doctor gave me 2 days MC!
Which means i can skip school on wednesday but nah. A lvls are nearing in exactly 4months.

Much have passed and honestly i really enjoy school.
Its feels like another "Broadrick".
Walking in the first day feeling all sian and "why am i in this old and lousy school".
But in a matter of time i grew to like Broadrick Sec. And not casting aside, Serangoon Junior College.
Its sad to think that i'll be leaving the school in another 5 more months?
But i guess its part and parcel of life.
Like what a wise man would say: "the ending of something marks the beginning of something."
yeah i guess so.

And i'm trying to only use the computer only on weekends. trying. haha

School's really tiring now.
With the jc2 workload on my shoulders, man its killing me.
Still, everytime i think about slacking, i remember that i'm here after 11 years of effort and it would suck to have to fail.

penal code 377A

Homosexuality.
India has modified its penal code of 377A to now allowing males to have sex with one another.
Since Singapore has almost the same set of law as them (due to British colonisation), the question is whether Singapore would also take that approach.

In my perspective,
Sparked off by the confusion between "Gender Equality" and "Gender Identity".
Gender Equality, or rather women's rights, simply means to allow females to be able to attain what men can, in terms of career, opportunities and power.
However, the line between gender equality has now been breached and women are starting to not only want what men could have, but to also want to be like them.
This applies for the males too.
Now don't get me wrong, i do not hate homosexuals nor do i dislike them.
In fact i find them as good camaraderies. And i do have a few friends who are homosexuals.

I just don't feel comfortable with it becoming a trend.
How often do you seen girls (especially ah lians, lol) indulging in lesbian acts.
Deep down, i bet (correct me) they're doing it cause its like the "in" thing yo!

Anyway i don't know why i'm writing this post.
It just spurred on me suddenly.
Like an influx of "i don't mind gays but i disagree with gender identity confusion" feelings.

Yes, some guys might have extra estrogens, but i still say 'no' to homosexualities.

20th College day!

4th of july marks College Day.
This year, my College is 20 years old.
And i'm proud to be an SRJCian.
Seriously school's really fun and the teachers are great.
In particular, the students and friends are awesome.

This occasion was celebrating by having a western dinner.
The plan was really creative. Like there's this giant tentage covering the parade square. And there's harry potter tables/ long tables.
Aside from not having aircon and not-up-to-expectation food, everything else was pretty fun.
But thumbs up for the appetiser. :)

Today, sunday.
went to church then slept in the afternoon.
Woke up, did some work and then went for a bbq at my cousin's place.
However, due to the weather, we only started bbq-ing at around 9.

I've kinda lost the drive to study. But i guess i'l find it tmr.
