Luxury Work Bathrooms!

We recently just moved office buildings. When I was hired with JD Clark & Co. we had a beautiful office in Pleasant View (North Ogden) with a beautiful staircase and fancy woodwork. About two years ago the company MAJORLY outgrew the Pleasant View office and we moved to Downtown! Downtown Ogden. That was quite the exciting change for us... we had to have safety meetings and set up safety procedures. That was a fun office building... I got to learn a lot about homeless people and gangsters, and we had a FANTASTIC taco stand just across the street!! (I also found "Diagon Alley's" twin if you are familiar with Harry Potter!)

Our Downtown office was basically an in between office... a waiting place while our company grew and our new office building was built. Joni came and created a happy design of bubbles for my Downtown office... I loved going to work with the bubbles!! Here is a picture of her creation and design for my office... (Believe it or not I CLEANED my desk for that picture and picked up all my piles of papers off the floor... doesn't look very clean though huh?)

We moved into our new office building the end of May... behold, what luxury!! I have a sweet view of the new movie theater down-town and can see all the previews for the new movies! How exciting is that?! Shortly after moving into our new office we had a "Family Open House" to show our families our new digs. My family and my grandparents came over for a tour... having never given an office tour I wasn't really sure what they would find interesting about walking around an Accounting Office Building... so I showed them what I thought was most interesting: the supplies room and the handicap stall in the Girl's Bathroom. TALK ABOUT LUXURY! I was impressed with it the moment we moved in... it is GINORMOUS!! Honestly it is bigger than some people's HOUSES! In fact, whenever I happen to use the facilities I imagine to myself how I would arrange the stall if it were my house, where the bed would be, where the kitchen sink would be... such richness! I thought it might be inappropriate to take pictures of the mega bathroom stall... so here is a picture of Amy sitting at my desk instead. She could almost pass as an accountant huh? See the front of the desk with the oval closest to the camera? It is a secret compartment that actually opens up!! Practially like the President's desk on the new National Treasure movie!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Wow... it is not every weekend we get to have a Friday the 13th... and luckily every Friday the 13th isn't filled with bad luck! Last Sunday JoyAnne and I saw a shooting FIREBALL in the sky... like a shooting star, only during the day and with no meteor (I read up about it on Monday's KSL news). Apparently a fireball during the day is EXTREMELY rare to see... so I figured if a shooting star is good luck, then spotting a rare fireball during the day must be REALLY GOOD luck! It is a good thing I had this super duper extraordinary good luck, cause my Friday the 13th had quite a bit of bad luck... imagine how must worse it would have been without the magic of the good luck fireball!!

Anyway, Friday evening I was sitting in the backyard reading the 7th Harry Potter book (ooooooh it was SO GOOD!!) and I started thinking about all my very favorite things!! Here's a couple of them!

I love our cute white rocker! (And I love that SOME DAY we'll have a pergola over the cute white rocker!)

I love evenings the couple hours before and after the sunsets.

I love running in the early morning.

I love peaches.

I love having my family right next door... I love seeing their lights on when I look out my kitchen window.

I love peonies! I love the super sweet rose smell of peonies! They always remind me of my Grandma Clayton... she had lots of peonie plants at her house!

I love that we have the nicest neighbors! Today our FREE lawnmower wouldn't start... so our neighbors ALL came over to help us with the lawnmower!!

I love that Amy and I fight over who gets to mow the lawn every week... cause we both love it!

I love that we have fun bright colored flowers that are STILL alive in my hanging basket!

I love that we have big trees for shade!

I love that we have a cute bench around the tree!

I love to watch this weed grow... as you can see we don't weed-wack the edge of our yard often... I love how this weed is ALMOST as tall as our fence!

I love Jon Schmidt's "Morning Light".

I love washing the dishes by hand... very weird huh? Our dishwasher is busted right now... I have been enjoying the "thinking time" every evening as I wash our dishes!

I love having super wonderful great friends! I love talking with you all and getting to read your blogs and hear about your stories and adventures and your day-to-day lives!

I love having family dinners every Sunday! I can't believe how lucky I am to get to have such a wonderful family!

Happy Saturday of Summer!

Memorial Day Weekend

Can you guess where we went for Memorial Day weekend??!! Yep! We went back up to the cabin again... AND Mel and Alana came also (Cody was working). Mom made us DELICIOUS Cafe Rio dinner (you can find anything on the Internet!)!

After walking into the cabin, the first thing Alana did was dig through her bag and pull out this bunny rabbit costume!! She spent the next hour jumping around and being quiet (since bunnies don't make noises).

Dad made us a GINORMOUS fire... he used a little "fire juice" to get it started... actually I think we used most of the whole can of fire juice that night!

Ever noticed how the air is bent weird right above the fire (I think the heat makes the air look distorted). Anyway Lana noticed it and showed me... she asked me "Can you see the portal?". I asked her what a portal was and she told me portal's lead to another dimension, like another land. Who knew?!
Watching the fire and telling stories: Alana, Mel, Mom, Joni, JoyAnne, Dad.

I thought this was a cute picture of Kris. He would follow Alana across this log and watch her VERY CLOSELY and catch her if she even had the teeny tiniest fall! (The log is higher off the ground than it looks... probably not the best thing to teach a 5 year old how to cross rapid rivers on a log huh? Amazing Mel lets us hang out with her child so much! Maybe she doesn't know what we are teaching her!)
Yah... I know the movie is totally sideways! Alana was being most helpful and scavenging for fire food. Amy and I turned around and she had PICKED UP this 20 foot long stick!! (My measurements are completely accurate....) We were laughing our heads off! Once again... here we are teaching Lana the great things every mother would wish her child to know! (I took the movie sideways hoping you could see how long the stick is...)
