Fall 2013 phone update 3.0

On the night of Jack's actual birthday we had a donut cake. At Jack's request.  I can't recommend this cake enough.  It's pretty delicious with ice cream and takes about 10 seconds to assemble.  I couldn't pick just one picture of him because he is too darn cute.

When it's your birthday you can wear your tummy and PJ bottoms to the dinner table.

This is my cute chunky baby.

Here she is in her Halloween costume which she wore for about 23 minutes.

At first she was amused and liked the costume.

She got over that quickly.

Halloween wore Jack out, Lilly's candy is pictured above and Jack's is below.  We plan to work on training him for next Halloween so his candy haul can be improved.

This concludes the photo fall update 2013.

Fall 2013 phone update 2.0

Look at my fat baby! I love having a roly poly baby.

I'm not saying they're in a ninja gang, but...

Here is Jack's turtle costume that I made.

Here is Lilly looking super cute in her fall 2012 outfit form grandma (that still fits).

Then someone broke the TV downstairs, AGAIN. I really don't know who did it, we think it happened during Jack's party. However, I have now learned that I need a plastic screen cover for the TV that goes in the basement.

Jack went downstairs to play, it got quiet and I got worried.  I couldn't find him but then I found him sleeping here.  It was so sweet and very surprising.  He takes a nap about 4 times a year.

Here are the kids on the way to the Davnille Halloween parade.

Lucy before the parade.

This is where my daughter betrayed me and attended a birthday party at reptile land.  She touched a kimodo dragon and a python, and then HELD the python on her lap. She thought it was great and I almost threw up.  That place was my worst nightmare.

This was part of reptile land was awesome.  Life size dinosaurs outside.  Very cool.

Can you see the baby dinosaurs behind Lilly?

Lilly accidentally dressed herself like Ann Margaret from Viva Las Vegas one afternoon.

Which of course led to the very important conversation on who Elvis was and why he matters.

Fall 2013 phone update 1.0

As explained in my previous post my computer has failed me, as another result I have not been keeping up with my phone pictures.  So here we go...

Here I am being silly with Jack before we leave for Jared's funeral in MO.

Then Jack got stuck in my phone. Ha. Ha.
Too bad the inside of my phone looks suspiciously like the inside of my car.

Here is Lucy at 5 months. At least I have one picture of her at 5 months from my phone.

A walk outside in warmer weather in the stroller from Papa.

Jack likes to measure height. He wins.

We discovered that Jack is some kind of lego genius. He can follow lego directions and put together anything you put in front of him.

This was one time when my giant baby was pretending to
still be a small baby and nuzzle into my neck.

Here she is at 5 months again! Or 6, it's hard to say.

My lego genius built this dragon.

Jack is a great playmate to Lucy.

He is getting so big!

This was the first time we gave her baby food, and she loved it!

Update

My computer has betrayed me as of late.  It will randomly crash and lose blog posts, it will update when I don't want it to and in general cause me a great deal of first world electronic angst.

Now that a few days have passed from the last computer crash I need to make some updates.

To Jack's birthday post: I had lovely anecdotes written but after my computer crashed two separate times I gave up.  So to that post I would like to add that my friend Molly made Jack's cake with the cake topper my mom bought for Jack.  My mom also supplied all the party decorations and cute turtle masks even though she was not in attendance at the party.  It was very sweet.  I told her I wanted to add that to my blog because one day Jack will like knowing that his Grandma bought party decorations for his 4th birthday.  He has wonderful grandparents that do so much for him.

To the Halloween post: That crashed several times on me and I had to upload all the pictures three separate times. To that post I add that I initially bought Jack a turtle costume but it was way too big on him and looked a little ridiculous.  He knew it too.  He took it off and yelled that it was too big and refused to put it back on again.  So I made him a costume.  I bought a green sweat suit from walmart and some fabric to make the shell on his chest and the ninja knee and elbow "pads." I ordered the hard shell, weapons, and eye mask from amazon.  In the end, the prices were the same for my homemade costume and the store bought costume, but Jack looked so much cuter in the costume that I made.  Considering I have minimal sewing skills I am very proud of my accomplishment.  My poor mother tried to teach me but I refused to learn.

I can't remember any more updates for now. I still love this format for documenting my life and I will still continue to do so. It might just take longer due to technical difficulties!

Halloween 2013

For whatever reason my children both chose iconic characters from my youth for Halloween.  Well, Lilly chose an iconic character from another period, but I still associate her with my childhood. Really how it went down was Lilly saw a basket with toto at Target.  She then said "I want to be the girl from that movie for Halloween!"  I then said "YES!!"  Really I think she just wanted the stuffed dog in a basket, but that didn't stop me.  I ordered the wig and then found this costume that someone home made on etsy for sale at a ridiculously cheap price for a hand made costume of this quality.

Lucy was at home and asleep (in case you're wondering what happened to my third child).

The neighborhood church trunk or treat. Why isn't Halloween during the daylight?
