Picture Perfect

Blakelee, my good friend, started this picture of the day challenge and I am playing a copy cat...to some extent.  I have been takin a few pictures here and there just trying to capture the beauty that is around me.

Trees and flowers outside of work. I thought they were rather pretty.

Last night's sunset from my back yard. See Bruce's beautiful new fence that he has finished.

Lately

Here are a few projects that I have been working on over the last few weeks.  I haven't been much for typing because our computer is on the fritz once again. Maybe for Christmas we will get ourselves a new computer.

Bruce finished refencing the back yard and the pasture. We put gates up on Saturday and I am very impressed. It looks so good. We did learn a few things along the way. Also, Truck #9 came to our house last week.  I keep joking that we don't have pets or kids, we have trucks. This is another Dodge Cummins Navy Blue with a Gray stripe at the bottom.

Nothing else too exciting has been happening. I did go with Julie, my friend from work, to the University of Utah vs UCLA football game. It started to rain at the half so we left (also it was 10:00 p.m. and we had to work the next day).

Going to meet with the Bishop tonight...looks like a calling is in the works :)

Sunday---"Ox In the Mire"

Yesterday, Mom and I had the chance to watch Emma, Eli, and Maylee for the day. We were "naughty" and due to the not planned adventure we ended up doing rather random stuff for a Sunday.

1- New clothes to wear for the day bought at Target. Pajama's left in the car

2- Lunch was courtesy of Wendy's.

3- Movie watched at the theater...Despicable Me 2. It was hilarious. I was laughing so hard that it was mostly wheezing. I swear it must be a family thing because we were all laughing more than anyone in the theater.

4- Dinner and outside play time at my house for a bit.

In the end we were all tired and cranky and I needed a time out more than anyone else.  Thanks to my wonderful husband for grilling our food for dinner!

Visitors

Celeste, Jason, Kaylee, Caleb, and little Paige came to visit us for a week.  Jason's sister Janelle was getting married so they drove out from California to see us.  We loved having them here for the visit.  The kids are too cute and I feel bad because I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I would have loved to.  One night we had a picnic on Mom's back deck.  It was wonderful food. Kaylee and Emma sponsored a raffle of prizes, which they then won back for themselves. We had a good laugh about it.

Friday Night

Last Friday I had the opportunity to go out for pizza and beer with my team at work and our spouses. It was a blast. I work with a wonderful group of people and love to have them around.  I do have to say that we are rather funny too.  See the evidence below.

You may see this picture and think that this is Farmer Pickles from Bob the Builder, but to us at work this is "Dr B." Even more funny is that Dr B thinks they made the character after him and not on their own.  Thanks to the girls in the pre-op area for donating the idea to us.

Sorry for the teenie picture but yes, I am in there in the back on the left next to Bruce.  He was such a good sport and came all the way down to SLC for the party and was very congenial with all of my friends.

Vacation Planning...Great Excitement

Celeste, my cute little sister, and I have been planning our summer adventure over the past couple weeks. Bruce and I will be driving to Folsom and then we will adventure around the Yosemite, Tahoe, and Sierra Nevada's.  We are so very excited.  I haven't gone on an excursion since March last year when Natalie and Mom payed for me to go down to Zion with them. (I did find out Natalie is coming up for our nephew's baptism and I am extremely excited for that!)

This has bee one thing that I have missed since being married. I loved going on my little trips. No, I was never a big World traveler but I would go to California and see my sisters and then down to Jacob Lake to check on My Grand Canyon as well. Last time I was in California this is a picture I took in a cave we visited.

Now Celeste and Jason have another little baby, Paige, and I am excited to meet her for the first time this summer and have my baby hunger fed for a few minutes and I can be okay for a little while longer. (No kids coming this way any time soon so don't worry).

2 Years and Going Strong

Yesterday Bruce and I celebrated 2 years of marriage!  I cannot believe it and then again I can. It has been a great rollercoaster, to quote my buddy Blakelee.  We have lived and learned and hope to be together for a long time in our learning adventure.

I do have to give props to the hubby. He bought me this beautiful necklace because he knows how much I LOVE turquoise jewelry. I love him very much.

Saturday Fun with Aunt Blondie

The kids-- Emma, Eli, and Maylee-- spent the day with me on Saturday. Their Dad and Mom were in Logan for Davey's and Mom's Choir Concert. We went and ran errands and then also made a little time to watch Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2.  It was a lot of fun. They are cute kids and love to play and have attention.  I was exhausted afterwards.  Yes, I don't have the stamina that true Mom's do. But maybe someday that will come when we get around to the children thing.

April Showers

April is upon us once again and the weather in Utah cannot decide what it wants to do. I am longing for spring. Every morning as the bus I ride to work drives past Temple Square I stare out at the flowers that are starting to bloom and I hope that they don't get frozen.  The other day I was over at my Mom's house. I peeked out the back door to see if the apricot tree was blooming and there were cute little blossoms on it. My niece, Emma, was out on the deck with me and I jokingly put my hands over her eyes like glasses and asked her if she had sung "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree." Emma is 10 and she realized as we were out there that the blossoms truly do look like popcorn in a way.

Tomorrow is Davey's birthday, my brother.  He is the old man of the clan and continues to lead out in strength and truth. Currently he is working for Kennecott.  I am so glad to have him and his family near by.  They keep me sane and I love to have the kids around for play dates.

Bruce continues to plug away at work and then come home to do his Aerating and Lawn Care business on the side. I am still working at the U.  Other than that nothing else spectacular is going on.  I have been slacking lately because we haven't had a reliable computer, thus no posts and no pictures.  But I do want to share a couple pictures of quilts that I finished in the last little while.

Sorry for the Long Delay...

There have been ever so many things that have happened over the last year.  The biggest thing has been that I haven't had a computer to post on my blog.  I am currently using a laptop that my sister gave me but I dream about the day I can afford, or save enough money, so that I can have a fancy new PC/Laptop.

I have been rather crafty over the past year and trying to keep up with the demands of all these wonderful people I know having babies.  So here are a few samples of things I have made.

Other than crafting, I have been working at in SLC for the Orthopaedic physcians and Operating Room.  (Bruce is still working for the water district.)Blakelee, Tiffany, and Tess(Not pictured) are a few of my work buddies that keep me out of trouble and help me with all of my crafting big ideas.

Life has been rather busy.  My daily schedule goes as follows:

1- Wake up about 5:30 a.m., Eat Breakfast, Get ready for the day.
2- Catch the Express Bus to SLC by 6:30 a.m. if possible (sometimes 6:45 a.m.)
3- Work until 5 p.m. ish and catch the bus hom.e
4- Arrive at the Park and Ride around 6:30 p.m. and head home to cook dinner, clean up, spend    some time with my husband, exercise, shower, and go to bed by 9:30 or 10 p.m.

Not that exciting, I know.  But it gets the job done and I have been rather programed to this for a while. So much for not being a morning person, I have had to change and get over that.  In other developments, I have developed an allergy to Wheat.  If I eat wheat I break out in rashes on my face and then have GI issues.  They are still investigating whether or not I have celiac disease or not.

In other news, Bruce turned 29 years old this weekend.  I will post a few pictures/movie of his birthday party later on.  Davey and the kids came up to see us along with Grandfather Shurtz, and Bruce's brother Brent. We had dinner and then cake and ice cream.  It was a lot of fun to have everyone over. Most especially we loved having Grandfather up to visit.

As a side note, as of last July Bruce and I had the privilege of moving into Grandfather Shurtz house to help take care of the place and make it so that he wasn't living alone.  He lives up on the bench and has a rather treacherous driveway when it snows.  In the winter he spends his time living with one of his kids so that he doesn't have to worry about the snow.
