Moving

Well, it's official. I know have my own apartment. Dad and John moved to San Antonio, Texas at the end of July and I moved into my apartment. I'm still slowly moving in. I have a few things left at Mom's.

Thanks Avan for your help in getting this apartment! I appreciate it!

Best of luck to Dad and John with their move to Texas!

Goodbye 898 E 825 N. I have enjoyed my time spent living here and visiting here prior to my move to Ogden!

Work Googles

On July 2, I went to work to learn that the hospital is now requiring employees to wear goggles in patient areas. On my unit that is everywhere except my office. I hate wearing them. I feel like I should be scuba diving. They gave me a headache. My coworkers dislike wearing them as much as I do.

Update: On August 7 I went to work with some safety glasses to try that Meg gave me. This is what they are using at the Roosevelt hospital. I don't think the glasses will work. They are not tight enough around my face. But until I actually hear that, I will wear them instead of the goggles. To be honest that won't be often. My unit has boycotted the goggles and none of us wear them. We are taking our chances at getting Covid-19 through our eyes.

Beautiful Flowers at Work

Work put in some new flowers in the flower beds by the west employee entrance. I thought they were beautiful and they made me smile.

I realized that in this crazy time, I need to take note of the things that make me smile and be grateful to see and experience things.

Thanks Ogden Regional for putting a smile on my face with some beautiful flowers!

Come Follow Me Thoughts

I read this on a family page on Facebook and really liked it. I thought I would share it here.

Thanks for the thoughts Debbie!

Alma 43-52 (24, 53) - Come, Follow Me – How to fight personal, spiritual battles…
OH, MY GOODNESS!!! I LOVED STUDYING THIS!!!
When reading the scriptures, substitute the name of the bad guy(s) and put in “Satan”, and put your name in place of the good guy(s) and ask, “Where’s Satan in all of this? How is he trying to deceive me?”
Example: Alma 49 the last half of verse 3: “…and because Satan had destroyed me once because of iniquity, he supposed that I would again become an easy prey to him.”
Alma 49:14 – “…which had hitherto been a weak place, had now… become strong…”
PLEASE READ “Personal Strength Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ” by Elder Richard G. Scott in the October 2013 General Conference!!! (Both for this week’s study and next week’s in Come, Follow Me).
“Their (my) past choices had exposed them (me) to a carnal appetite that could again become a point of vulnerability that Satan would attempt to exploit.” – Definition of exploit = designed to take advantage of a flaw for malicious purposes.
Alma 43:19, 38; 46:21; 48:6, - We need to shield our most vulnerable parts against Satan’s attacks (our mind, our heart, our body [chastity], etc.). Those of us who have been endowed in the temple also have our temple garments and spiritual protection.
We need to be faithful; defend our religious freedoms; be grateful; fast and pray, and worship with joy always; sustain and defend the Kingdom of God; gladly take upon us the name of Christ – don’t be ashamed; have courage not fear; fortify and strengthen ourselves where we are weak; be prepared; don’t get worn down little by little; stay on high ground where the Light is; avoid contention and be unified; become more like the Savior…

Aug. 1 Carly's Bridal Shower

Carly is getting married! I am so excited for her and Hayden!

On Aug. 1 I was able to attend a bridal shower in her honor. My gift hadn't made it yet, so I felt bad going without the gift. Luckily Carly is a very kind sole and told me not to worry about it. I got to meet some "long-lost" cousins while I was there. 2 of Carly's sisters were there. It was fun to see and meet them.

Congratulations Carly! I wish you and Hayden all the best!
