Fall Fun

This weekend we went to my friend Jenny's and picked out pumpkins.  The kids had so much fun!  We told Copper she could pick any two that she wanted, figuring she'd go for the huge ones.  She picked the two, tiniest pumpkins there were.  After some talking she reluctantly agreed to pick two big ones.  Good thing, since she was in love with them  by the time we got home. I also made the girls some superhero capes.  Last week in school Copper darted from Kelly's house with this red ball of fabric snuggled tightly under her arm.  One meltdown later, I ripped it from her hands to give back to Kelly.  These aren't as cool, but good enough. This week the twins turned 15 months!  Crazy. Kota had a bit of a hard time when I wouldn't pick her up or let her hold the phone/camera. Micah hugging Kota, who clearly does not want it but tolerates. Copper at Talking Time this week. Today for church I asked Copper to finish getting

Friends

I hope they stay each others' friends.  It's taken a long time, but they're finally all playing together.  The twins give each other hugs and laugh at each other.  Copper plays with them and they giggle hard with her.  Copper loves when they all have the same clothes; helps bond them all together I guess.  One thing's for sure is that they are all very adorable and fun.

Our Weekend

This is what the babies look like when they feel good.  Cute, eh? Unfortunately, that was not this weekend.  Starting Thursday, Kota got a high fever and threw up.  Threw up mostly, I think, because she gagged on Tylenol.  She does that.  So Thursday night we hung around the house and watched her whine and be miserable.  It was pretty sad.  On Friday morning Copper started Talking Time.  We've been talking for a while now how she gets to go to a "big" school- she's been asking about it since before pre-school.  As it turns out, Talking Time is in a trailer behind a "big" school.  She was a bit disappointed but got over it when she went in.  There are three other little girls in her class.  The first thing the teachers did was hold up the letter "H" and ask the kids what sound it made.  Copper immediately said, "H, hat!" Smarty.  The rest of the hour was filled with songs, hand signs, a craft, and homework.  During the craft, parent

Lawn Mowing

Really I didn't think we'd ever get to the point of saying these babes are a lot of fun.  I guess the very hardest things in life turn out to be the greatest blessings.  I will say this: never in my sane mind will I ever wish these two youngest terrors to be small babies again.  Heaven help all of us!  This last weekend we hit a pretty sweet milestone.  I mowed the entire front lawn with Micah and Copper sitting on the front porch, and Kota a few steps down.  No crying, no chasing after me, no being scared of the mower, and no falling off the porch.    Usually I have to wait until 8 at night when Tim is home in order to mow the lawn.  It's nice b/c I can be busy and he can be with the kids.  Still, it may have helped this time that I gave them the last of the Sour Patch Kids to snack on.  But I was so impressed that I successfully attempted the back yard.  I should have gotten a picture; Micah kept herself busy by finding a small bucket of water, which she poured over

Preschool

Preschool might be the tiniest rite of passage.  But starting was a big deal to Copper and she was pretty excited it.  I got asked yesterday if I was sad she was big enough to go.  CRAP, NO!!!!  I'm totally fine with her growing up and moving on to big girl things.  When I took her up to the door there were a few other parents there with clingy kids. Not mine; I had to force Copper to say goodbye to me!  I guess we've done all right with her to be such a well adjusted and secure kid.  She came out two hours later with the biggest grin on her face, a bright orange balloon, and a cute paper raccoon she made.  Guess it was a hit!
Last night we walked around the Mt. Timp temple grounds in our pj's.  It's best to go around 7:30 so by the time the kids are done walking and running and playing it's time for bed! Leave it to Micah to find the dirtiest place at the temple.  This kid cracks me up.

What we've learned this weekend:

Kota and Micah are NOT big enough to spoon themselves yogurt Books are more fun to look at when they are ALL thrown out on the floor Markers are NOT for eating Pots and pans are more fun to bang than to cook with You gotta nap whenever and wherever you can When you go out walking, it's important to look your very best
