Our life

Life is pretty much about these girls.  After VT this week, both teaching and being taught, I'm really trying to remember that everything I do in and outside the home should be for the benefit of my family.  I'm sooooo blessed for these chicas and the gift they are in our lives.  Life is incredibly busy, which doesn't slow down, but it's fun a lot of the time.  When my head and heart are in the right place then our days are seemingly perfect; when I remember that my purpose is for Tim and these three girls.  Don't they have such fantastic little spirits?     Micah has a bad hair days much of the time.  It's full of curl and calics; if I don't tame it after bath time, this is what happens.  It is super cute but out of control!  Copper's hair looks pretty incredible for not having been washed or rebraided for three days.  Better things to do than bathe!    Dakota eating her bib.  I think it may have been cover

#11: Fun things to do this summer: homemade ice cream, sort of

Last night we made homemade ice cream, sort of.  Easy, easy recipe of soda and sweetened condensed milk.  Mix for 1/2 hour and it turned into this super yummy and creamy root-beer-float-ice-cream-sushi.  Guess it was about time we used the machine we got five years ago!

#8 Fun things to do this summer: Jump on the tramp with water

#7: Fun things to do this summer: Race paper cup boats down the gutter

And by race, I mean hope they make it down the length of the yard.  I think my boat design was a bit flawed.  Copper didn't seem to mind.  She dressed up for the occasion and did a fine job with her choice of skirt.  The babies played happily on the lawn and in the water.  A fun family night.  Copper had a fit when she found the boats in the garbage the next day.  Note to self- put treasures in the bottom of the trash.

#6: Fun things to do this summer: Visit Adventureland Park

A few weekends ago we visited Adventureland Park.  Copper tried to feed half a loaf of bread to the ducks, who were not interested at all.  We visited the playground, looked at the water, and walked along the trails.  The babies enjoyed the outdoors and didn't cry except when they could see me.  I mostly stayed behind the stroller.  Man they're funny babies!

Random

This afternoon I am working from home.  I can get a lot more done in a quiet house than in my office where people don't leave me alone.  Love my co-workers but sometimes I feel like yelling for everyone to just stay out and let me work!!  I'm that far behind.  Freaking story of my life. Anyway, my doorbell just rang and I opened the door to three cute little girls from next door.  "Please can Copper play?" they asked.  When I told them she was still at the baby-sitter's for another hour, they looked disappointed. It's a nice feeling, having kids come over to play with Copper.  And having neighbors begin to wave as they drive by, offer to watch the kiddos, or just come over to talk.  I think it means we're really becoming part of our new neighborhood.

#5: Fun things to do this summer: invite a friend over to play

#4: Fun things to do this summer... evening trampoline jump

Copper took a dozen blankets out on the tramp and we jumped until it was almost dark, in our pajamas.  We played "one, two, three, slide!" and she loved slipping on all of the blankets.  Micah and Kota love to jump too and thought it was great we were all on there together. And yes, Kota took a nap at dinnertime so she could be ready for the fun later on.
The girls are lucky to have their Oma and Opa (Tim's parents).  Since we moved they've talked about a swing set for the yard, and they got us this little baby.   It took more than a weekend to put together.  We are so grateful and the girls LOVE it!
