June 2021

Sydney's dance recital!

Ken got stung by a jellyfish.

Freeze Dance game.

Something happened here.

Movie screening with the stuffies.

A vibe.

The teenager humbled himself a tad.

Removing polish = Kindle time.

Brynn's first piano lesson!

It's HOT and this water is COLD.

Morning hike with the kids. (Boys were running.)
We saw: one snake, one hummingbird, three lizards, two ground squirrels, a billion dragonflies, a few bees, and many birds.
Brynn fell and despite a roughed up arm she wanted to go the entire way. This photo was right after Brynn shared some water with Sydney, who had shared her water with our dog.

Quotable Sniders

Book idea: the underground world of Pokémon card trading and selling in middle school. Main character: my son

Justin: So you're torturing me at 6pm?
Me: You mean your SISTER'S DANCE RECITAL?
Justin: I have an idea. I'll wait outside and sell my ticket to someone and keep the money while you guys are in there.
Me: You are NOT scalping your ticket.

Me & Jon: Hey Dallin, you didn’t earn that money because you didn’t actually clean the pool this week yet.
Dallin: Well, you know how you pay for Netflix even if you don’t watch it.....
Me & Jon: You Are Not A Subscription Service!!!

May 2021

We had an eventful evening last night but thankfully we are home and resting. For some reason Jon Snider’s nose won’t stop bleeding profusely (it’s been on and off for almost a week, and yesterday it was constant). No clue what’s causing it. It took two ER trips last night to get it stopped. Will see the ENT specialist next week.

Happy birthday to Miss Brynn!

I got to go to a Writers' Retreat up in Payson, AZ. It was amazing. I wrote 10k words!

Writers are my people.

School is out! We went to a frozen yogurt place and Justin got his for free!

April 2021

My mom got married! Dad died of leukemia in 2019. A wonderful man at church also lost his wife. (He was our home teacher for 30+ years.) We flew up to Idaho for the wedding.

Never a dull moment.

Color Run at school.

Bifocals!

We were soooo sad when our old neighbors moved.
But the new neighbors have little kids and our girls chat with them every day.

March 2021

Dad’s favorite print.
I never saw it outside my parents’ house until today.
Like Dad was saying hi.

Today we ate tacos.
With cousins.
In downtown Phoenix.
It was beautiful.

Arizona Science Center!

Solo walk with Dallin is what my soul needed.

Barbies have been a big part of the pandemic for my girls.

New earbuds!

Walk + therapy with Becky.

Getting ready for Zoom Sunday School.

Quotable Sniders

Brynn, age 6: Mom, what does heaven look like?
(How would you answer?)

We had a nice chat with the mattress shop lady about our teenagers.

Parenting a teen is like riding a rickety roller coaster that goes too high too fast and after a few seconds bottoms out when you least expect it and will not end ever.

Tonight at dinner we were talking about the Civil War... how the south made their own flag, wanted to be separate from the north and also how....

LOLLLL

My nephew Jackson is here.
“Aunt Carrie, would you rather be married to a guy who says Munumunum all day, or is a serial killer but he’s a nice guy?”
Ummmm

Justin: So, cows ruined the first half of your life....
Me: And kids the second half.
