Christmas! We had a pretty quiet Christmas this year. Just spent it at home with the kids. But it was so much fun! They are at the most fun ages. They get so excited about every little thing.
We wanted to start some traditions in our new house. So this year the kids got to help MAKE gifts for each other. They loved it! The boys even learned to sew a little bit.
The other tradition we started was a Bethlehem Dinner on Christmas Eve. Mainly we wanted to eat the foods that most of the people where Jesus lived ate at the time. So we had lamb, lentils, olives, cheese, nuts, flat bread, etc. It was so yummy!
Then of course Christmas morning they screamed as they opened their presents. It's fun when they still believe in Santa.
Also in December we drove around looking at Christmas lights, and we celebrated my birthday (I turned 36!) and Sydney's birthday (she turned 4). We were so pooped from Christmas that we celebrated Sydney's birthday at Applebee's. When we sat down at the table, we started impersonating animals, and everyone had to guess. Now it's our thing we do at restaurants to keep the kids entertained.
Quotable Sniders
Can barely open the door of my van. #EasternIdahoProblems
Justin's leg cast is off! Our house's status is now currently "cast-less." Let's hope it stays that way for a long, long time.
Kids: "Mom, mom! We found the Smart Guy!!"
Me: Putting on glasses.... "Ohhh the Wise Man!"
I guess I should have gotten two RC helicopters.... because Jon Snider waited for Dallin to go to bed so he could play with his!
Taking a minute to be thankful that I'm NOT going to be sewing until midnight this year.
Justin & Sydney: We are going to have a restaurant!
Me: Who will be the chef?
Justin & Sydney: YOU!
Me: What will you pay me?
Justin & Sydney: $10.... and this ribbon.
Jon and I have no secrets... we share an Amazon Prime account.
Driving around looking at Christmas lights in Idaho Falls.... do we wait
in line at one house to see Santa, or do we wait in line at another
house to see Elsa? Decisions, decisions.
Learning that Dallin has a lead foot.... thankfully I am teaching him to sew and not to drive.
Brynn has 10 billion toys, but all she wants is the power strip by the Christmas tree.
Cub scouts + white elephant gift exchange = lots of giggling
You would think that when your son has a broken leg, it would be easier
to FIND JUST THE ONE SHOE in the morning. But it's not easy, because you
can only find the other shoe you don't need. Doh!
Sometimes, the only thing keeping you from progressing is very small.
Like a $.30 nut that fell out of your son's crutches. Thankfully there
is a hardware store on the way to school.
Sydney was just pretending she was still at church. She was giving quite an excellent talk about string cheese.
Best birthday ever... got to spend it in the Idaho Falls Temple. Thank you Deanna Crandall Poulsen! You are awesome!
My kids tied the Birthday Banner to the fan and turned it on. I guess it's party time!
My kids are having a very lengthy discussion about whether or not Ursula from The Little Mermaid blew up.
Justin was sorta scared of crutches... he kept falling and was just
frustrated that his leg was broken. So, we made him practice, and... we
named his crutches. Bob and George. "Where are Bob and George?" Now he
uses them all the time with confidence. "Bob and George like me."
